Gosport sex offender who distributed images of child abuse has been jailed

Kristofer Ward

A PAEDOPHILE who had dozens of indecent pictures and movies of children is behind bars.

Kristofer Ward, 34, was caught when police searched the Gosport home where he was then a lodger after a tip-off and seized computer equipment.

There is no suggestion that the other occupants at the property were involved or knew what Ward was doing.

A sample of movies and images on the equipment revealed 55 level 5 movies – the most serious category which shows the rape or torture of a child, including sadist acts and 10 at level 4.

The youngest victim was about 18 months old and victims were aged up to about 15.

Portsmouth Crown Court heard Ward had a folder marked ‘hidden’ where movies were found and had peer-to-peer software. He had a device not to share files, but they were available to others for a limited period – between 19 seconds and a few hours.

Ward, of Thorney Close, Fareham, admitted 10 counts of distributing an indecent photograph of a child, one of making an indecent photograph of a child and five of possessing an indecent image of a child in November last year.

He was jailed for two years and eight months and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.

Ward must pay an £120 victim surcharge.

He was given a Sex Offences Prevention Order restricting his use of the internet, and stopping him from deleting the history on any device.

Detective Sergeant Timothy Plummer from the dedicated Paedophile Online Investigation Team said: ‘Hampshire Constabulary is committed in its ongoing fight against the online offending against children, including the possession and distribution of indecent images, as each image contains a victim of child abuse somewhere in the world.

‘This sentence is a deterrent to all offenders in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight who commit this type of offence and we will continue to be proactive in the detection and prosecution of these offenders.’

Dundee sex offender back in jail for ignoring rules

A man who served nine years in jail for having sex with a child disappeared after his release from Perth Prison, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.

Gavin Stewart, 29, failed to inform police of his new address within three days of his release from jail in March, as he was required to do under the Sex Offenders Act.

The court heard police attended at a temporary address he had been given by social workers but Stewart was not there.

A caretaker confirmed he had not used his key fob to enter the property at Bonnethill Court since his release from Perth Prison three days earlier.

Fiscal depute Laura Bruce told the court police phoned Stewart and he refused to say where he was.

The fiscal said: “The following day, on March 24, the accused was traced at a property on Balunie Crescent. He said he was going to register his address, and that he was only slightly late.”

The court heard Stewart had been briefed of his requirements before his release from Perth.

He was found guilty after trial at Edinburgh High Court in 2005 of having sex with a child at a property in Dundee and of indecent behaviour with a second child.

In court on Thursday, Sheriff Alastair Brown said the requirements of the Sex Offenders Act were to keep an eye on offenders such as Stewart with a “disturbing” record in order to protect the public.

When asked why he had not registered his address, Gary Fowlis, defending, said Stewart could not remember refusing to tell police but that he did not dispute the fact.

Mr Fowlis added: “It was his intention to register the address and he cannot offer any explanation as to why he didn’t. He understands it is a serious matter and he is very remorseful.”

Stewart, of HMP Perth, admitted that, between March 21 and 23, at a property on Balunie Crescent, he failed to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Act by failing to notify police of his new address within three days.

Sheriff Brown said: “Your record is one which is disturbing and in relation to that nothing short of a prison sentence is appropriate.”

Stewart was jailed for 16 months.

Wakefield paedophile caught abusing young girl by shocked witnesses is jailed

wake

A paedophile from Wakefield was caught after shocked witnesses spotted him through a bedroom window attacking a young girl, while his girlfriend watched.

Kazimierz Kowejsza, 54, has been jailed for 13 and a half years and his partner, who hid a bed when police entered the West Yorkshire property, is now also behind bars.

Witnesses had called 999 on a Sunday evening last September when the incident unfolded in front of them.

When officers entered the bedroom they found Kowejsza naked with the little girl.

Kowejsza’s partner Eva Tyrminska, 53, was found hiding under the bed fully clothed having aided and abetted his abuse of the girl. She was jailed for eight years.

A man and a woman, who cannot be named for legal reason, were found drunk in the house when it was raided. They were both jailed for child neglect.

Kowejsza, of Wakefield, pleaded guilty to rape and attempted rape of the young girl, while his partner, also of Wakefield, was found guilty of two charges of aiding or abetting the rape.

Sentencing the pair, Judge Mark Bury, said: “Kowejsza you abused this girl in the vilest way. You were both under the influence of alcohol, but not so much that you did not know what you were doing.

“You, Tyminska, could have stopped this entire incident . By your presence you encouraged Kowejsza to behave in this most appalling manner.

“You raped her in front of six witnesses who looked on in shock and disbelief. This experience will live on with them forever.”

Hull Crown Court heard social services had twice been alerted to the little girl’s neglect.

She is now thriving in permanent foster care.

Kowejsza protested his innocence initially telling police he was getting ready for bed at 6pm with Tyminska, and neither of them expressed any remorse for their offending.

Robin Frieze, for Kowejsza, said his client had no record of offending in the UK or Poland.

Matthew Harding, for Tyminska, said there was no evidence she had held the girl down.

The two other people found drunk in the house were also sentenced – a man in his 40s was found guilty of child neglect and jailed for nine months while a woman in her 30s was jailed for two-and-a-half years, also for child neglect.

Judge Bury told Kowejsza and Tyminska they could be considered by the Home Office for deportation to Poland before the end of their UK prison sentences.

He told the pair they would have to sign the UK Sex Offenders Register for life.

After the case Det Chief Insp Adrian Taylor, said: “This was a truly horrendous crime which quite rightly caused shock in the local community, especially amongst those who witnessed it.

“Sexual exploitation and offending against any person, but particularly children, is an abhorrent offence and I would urge anyone who had any information about these type of offences in Wakefield or anywhere else in West Yorkshire to contact police on 101.”

Wakefield Council said they would not be carrying out a serious case review.

John Wilson, Wakefield Council’s corporate director for children and young people, said: “The family first became known to us 18 months ago when concerns were raised by other professionals, and these professionals put appropriate support in place.

“Following a subsequent alert by a member of the public, we took immediate action and the child was removed and placed in a safe environment with foster parents.”

Man who raped 14-year-old girl and sexually abused another when living in Wisbech jailed for 15 years

image

A man who raped a 14-year-old girl and sexually abused another has been jailed for 15 years.

Emil Dopson, 60, of the Keep, Kingston upon Thames, attacked the schoolgirls when he was living in Wisbech during the late 1990s.

One of the girls contacted police in 2012 to report the offences and Dopson was traced to an address in Surrey.

He was arrested and charged with a catalogue of offences including rape, indecent assault and gross indecency with a child.

He sent an e-mail and letter to the victims’ relatives, in a failed bid to get them to withdraw the allegations.

Dopson denied the charges but was convicted of 12 offences including two counts of indecent assault, two counts of gross indecency with a child, two of causing actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, in relation to the letter, after a trial in December last year.

He returned to court earlier this month for a re-trial on the rape and an indecent assault, which the jury had failed to reach verdicts on at the original trial.

Dopson was convicted of the rape but acquitted of the other charge. He was jailed at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday.

Detective Constable Amanda Sylvester said: “Dopson is a violent man who preyed on young girls. He has shown no remorse for his actions and has continued to deny the offences, forcing the victims to relive their ordeals in court.

“One of the victims has told me she feels that she can now finally put this part of her life behind her and start to move on.

“Dopson is a sexual predator and clearly a danger to others. He now faces a lengthy period behind bars.”

Fourteen years in jail for sick attack on child in Coventry park

ash

A man has been jailed for 14 years for a horrific sex attack on a child in a Coventry park.

Asher Shaw, 22, of Hermes Crescent, Henley Green, Coventry, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

His victim – an eight-year-old boy – contracted a sexually transmitted disease when he was grabbed from behind by Shaw who pulled down his tracksuit trousers and raped him.

Shaw had pleaded not guilty to raping the boy, but was convicted by a jury following a trial which ended in August last year.

Since then there have been a series of adjournments for psychiatric reports to be prepared on Shaw to discover whether he should be made subject to an order under the Mental Health Act.

At the crown court in Leamington, prosecutor Paul Dhami said the offence had taken place some time in 2011, when Shaw was 19, but did not come to light until the following year when the eight-year-old victim was taken to see a doctor.

The boy disclosed that he had been in some bushes in a park when Shaw came up behind him and assaulted him.

After reading various reports on Shaw, Recorder Tim Raggatt QC told his barrister: “One of the troubling features of the reports is that he has no perception of what he’s done.”

Jane Sarginson, defending, said Shaw had learning difficulties and had been assessed as having an IQ in the region of 70, with a reading age of a child aged six or eight.

And she commented: “Although in years there was a big gap between them, intellectually they are closer.”

She said there had been no planning, and no violence, but the judge observed: “The whole thing caused a desperate turmoil in the little lad’s mind. What there was, was an exceptionally vulnerable little victim and a sexually transmitted disease as a result.

“What is troubling is his complete failure to accept any responsibility, even now.”

Miss Sarginson said that since the offence came to light Shaw, who will be vulnerable in jail because of his difficulties, had twice been attacked by members of his victim’s family.

But Recorder Raggatt commented: “In law, not excusable; but in human terms their anger is understandable.”

Jailing Shaw, he told him: “You raped [the boy] who was then eight years of age.

“You took advantage of him by surprise.

“It is almost unimaginable to know what the psychological effect will be on him because of your disgusting activity.’’

Judge hopes for rain as sex offender carries out work order punishment

A JUDGE sentencing a 59-year-old child sex offender who preyed on a 12-year-old girl told him he wishes it rains while he carries out an unpaid work order so he suffers more.

John Glen, of Dobrudden Farm caravan park, Baildon, pleaded guilty to inciting a 12-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity in June last year.

But as Judge Jonathan Rose sentenced him to 14 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with supervision and a high level activity order, he told him: “I hope that the typical English weather is as inclement as possible so you can suffer even more.

“You deserve to suffer. It will only be for 180 hours. This child will suffer for the rest of her life.”

Bradford Crown Court was told yesterday Glen was drunk when he lured the child into a toilet at a house, gave her £20 and demanded: “What can you do for this?”

He then exposed himself to her and she ran off in shock and told her mother.

Prosecutor Nadeem Bashir said Glen denied any wrongdoing when he was arrested, telling the police the girl was lying.

He admitted the offence only at the case management hearing at the Crown Court.

In mitigation, Glen’s barrister, Stephen Wood, said his client had no previous convictions for sexual offences.

He conceded it was “an appalling piece of behaviour”.

Glen had lost his job and was now engaging with the mental health services.

He was very remorseful and would never do such a thing again, said Mr Wood.

Judge Rose branded the offence “disgusting” which had had done permanent and incalculable damage to the girl.

Glen had called the girl a liar and, because he did not confess at the earliest opportunity, she had the anxiety hanging over her that she might have to come to court to give evidence, he said.

Sentencing him, Judge Rose told him: “You are 59 and she is 12. It is utterly disgraceful.”

Glen must sign on with the police as a sex offender for ten years and the judge made an indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) banning him from working with children and having unsupervised contact with them.

Judge Rose criticised the prosecution for not requesting a SOPO, even though Glen’s probation officer identified him as posing a high risk of harm to children.

The judge said it was “incredible” one had not been automatically sought and said they should be asked for in all such similar cases.

Benjamin Larmer, 20, of Bishops Road, Itchen, had pleaded guilty to three charges of having sexual activity with two 15-year-olds, and one count of meeting a third girl after sexual grooming.

Larmer was further remanded in custody until July 21.

Child abuse images pervert’s internet ban

A 40-year-old St Helens man has been banned from a host internet activities after he admitted a string of child porn offences.

Gary Wilkinson, of Lancashire Gardens in The Shires, admitted nine counts of possessing indecent images of children.

The offences took place at his home address between 2007 and 2012, St Helens Magistrates Court was told.

Wilkinson was ordered to serve a 36 month community order, which includes him attending a 36 day sex offender rehabilitation programme.

JPs also gave him a five year sexual offences prevention order, the terms of which bar him from having free access to the internet.

Under the court order, he is prohibited from owning an internet-enabled device unless it has the capacity to retain and display its internet history,

Wilkinson was also ordered not to delete any of his internet history or own a device which can store digital images, unless he makes the computer available for inspection on request by a police officer.

Former school cleaner from Gloucester guilty of sexually abusing a young girl

Robert Sulc has been found guilty of regularly sexually abusing a young girl over a period of almost five years.

The defendant looked in shock and shook his head as the foreman of the jury read out the verdicts yesterday.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC said: “I need to know more about him. He will be remanded in custody until then.”

Earlier this week, Gloucester Crown Court heard that Sulc abused the girl at his home between May 2004 and March 2009 when she was aged between seven and 11.

But Sulc, of Dynevor Street, in Gloucester, denied all charges.

He pleaded not guilty to three charges of sexual activity with a child under 13, three of assault by penetration of the same girl and six of inciting her to engage in sexual activity with him.

A Slovakian, Mr Sulc, who works as a cleaner at B&Q and previously worked as a school cleaner, was assisted during his trial by an interpreter.

The girl, now 17, was in and out of foster care at the time of the alleged offences although she did also spend time with her natural mother, prosecutor Virginia Cornwall said.

Between 2000 and 2002 the girl was on the child protection register because of physical abuse and neglect suffered while her mother was in an abusive relationship.

Social services records show that in 2009 they became aware from family members that the girl was making sexual allegations against Sulc.

The girl did not want to pursue a police investigation at the time but when she was older she talked about it.

Jurors were shown two police interview videos.

The girl said Sulc would give her cigarettes and alcohol.

“It happened every time I went over,” she said.

“Whenever he could get his hands on me.

“I don’t want it to happen to other girls.”

The defence’s evidence was heard on Tuesday and the jury listened to a police interview from when Sulc was arrested in October 2012.

He said the girl was a trouble maker and “a bit bonkers”.

“It is nonsense,” he said.

“I am not an animal.

“I worked at a school for 10 years and I haven’t had a problem.

“There is not much good in her, she was always causing trouble.”

Sulc was ordered to appear back before the court for sentencing on July 18.

Jobless loner posed as young girls for sex chats

Jobless loner posed as young girls for sex chats

A JOBLESS loner posed as young girls on the internet to chat to girls about sex. Shaun Smith, 20, created the names “Maria Charlton” and “Naomi Garlston” for his deception and used the email address “mariababeh”.

He was also downloading and distributing indecent images of children, including one of a child aged just four.

Hull Crown Court heard his parents were “shocked and disgusted” when they discovered what he had been doing.

Smith, of Greenwood Avenue, north Hull, was caught with a total of 642 indecent images and seven films on his laptop, external hard drive and iPhone.

Most of the images were said to feature children aged between ten and 13, but one was of a child of four.

Smith, who had no previous convictions, admitted two counts of possessing indecent images of children, one of making indecent photographs of children, and one of distributing indecent images of children.

Judge Graham Robinson said society would be best served by Smith serving a three-year community order, which will see him attending the Northumbria Sex Offender Group Work Programme.

Paedophile jailed for leading secret life filming children and collecting child rape images

A paedophile led a secret life filming children on the street, in gardens and on holiday while at the same time keeping thousands of images of child rape, a court has heard.

Dennis Proctor, 61, hid cameras around South Wales and abroad to catch children undressing and had also filmed himself with two young girls.

He told police he’d always liked photography but his hobby “got out of hand”.

Employed at Aberthaw Power Station for 40 years, divorced and with children of his own, Proctor committed offences for 20 years while hiding behind a mask of respectability, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

His secret was uncovered when police making routine inquiries about a missing man, knocked on his front door – and it ended with a 13-year jail sentence on Friday when a judge told him: “You are a predatory paedophile, have been preoccupied with child sex and your desires appear not to have diminished as you have aged.”

He said the only thing in Proctor’s favour was the fact he had pleaded guilty to 16 charges, saving victims the ordeal of having to given evidence against him.

Police said they found the case one of the most distressing they had ever had to deal when they had to trawl through more than 2,000 films and photographs and approach the families of victims who could be recognised.

Prosecutor Michael Jones said the police officers who walked into Proctor’s home in Cwm Barry Way, Barry on March 2 had been confronted by laminated pictures of child porn decorating bedroom walls. There were more pictures strewn around the floor and displayed in a picture frame cube, he said.

Mr Jones said: “Mr Proctor came out of one the rooms, naked. They saw the pictures, asked what they were and he shrugged.

“In a second room there was a computer, printer and laminating machine.”

When CDs, DVDs and his computer were examined, the found more than 2,000 images – 1,450 were of children and babies being raped by adults.

Some of the other material, at the most serious level, involved children being bound and gagged.

He was said over the years to have hidden his camera and police had to ask their parents to identify the children.

He labelled some pictures “memories” and admitted he got sexual gratification from watching them later.

“I’ve always done photography” he said. “But obviously it’s just got out of hand”.

Handing down the 13-year term with nine years custody and the rest on licence, Judge Tom Crowther QC told him: “Police officers who went to your house found a glut of child pornography of the most distressing kind – every image a real child being abused.

“And you were obsessed with secret filming.

“You may have a good 40-year work record but for a lengthy part of that respectable life you were targeting and abusing other people’s children.

“For almost 20 years you have been a predatory paedophile but kept it under wraps. You led a secret life.”

The officer in the case DC David Rich said six officers had taken several days to trawl through all the pornography and it had been distressing for them and the families they had to approach.

“Dennis Proctor was not someone on our radar but thankfully was caught and the successful end of this case today, just three months after we first spoke to him, is a result of close cooperation between us and the Crown Prosecution Service.”

Proctor admitted charges of indecent assault, taking and possessing indecent images, and downloading indecent pictures from the internet. He will be on the sex offenders’ register and subject to a restrictions for life.

Paedophile jailed for sex assaults on young girls

bognor

A paedophile has been jailed for nine years for a series of sexual assaults on young girls.

James Barnard, 65, of Hillsboro Road, Bognor, was found guilty last month of five assaults on two young girls aged four and eight between 2008 and 2013.

After his sentencing at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, Barnard was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely on his release from prison and was served with a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) severely restricting his access to children.

Last month he was found not guilty of four other offences involving two other girls.

Detective Constable Steve Edwards of the West Sussex child protection ream said: “Barnard got to know the girls over a period of time and gradually gained their confidence, a classic example of ‘grooming’. He then chose opportunities to subject them to sexual assaults, which in their innocence and vulnerability they did not mention to anyone at the time.

“Only when one of them spoke to her parents last year did his behaviour come to light.”

Paedophile who downloaded half a million child abuse images jailed

A paedophile who downloaded nearly half a million obscene images of children has been jailed after telling police he needed help.

Andrew White, 42, was caught with some of the most graphic material possible involving sadistic and violent abuse of youngsters.

A court heard that he also trawled Facebook looking for girls as young as 11.

White, an engineer, had gone to get help for his addiction from a GP but told him he had depression instead of the truth.

But police were later tipped off and they raided his home and found his horrific hoard which had been built up over TEN years.

Marti Blair, prosecuting, said White immediately showed them where to find the disgusting images because he “wanted to get help”.

They discovered 46,959 indecent images on a hard drive, including 46 at level five – the most serious category.

A further 321,472 images and 532 movies were also found plus 76,739 images and 230 movies on a laptop.

Cambridge Crown Court heard that White scoured Facebook for images of girls as young as 11 which he stored in a folder titled ‘Too Young’.

Ms Blair said the pervert was attracted to skinny women and so he sought pictures of young girls.

White, of Milton, Cambs., was jailed for two years after admitting five different charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said he believed his remorse was genuine.

He said: “You accept you had a number of images at levels four and five which involved penetrative sexual activity with a child and images of a sadistic and violent nature.”

Richard Gowthorpe, mitigating, said “he knew what he was doing was wrong” but said it was a “problem of addiction”.

White admitted two charges of possessing indecent images, two charges of making indecent images and one charge of possession of prohibited images.

A MAN has been sent to prison for having child abuse images on his phone.

Graham Anthony David Crowther, 27, of Endless Street, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to making and possessing indecent images of children and was sentenced to nine months in prison at Salisbury Crown Court on Friday.

On sentencing, Judge William Ashworth said that “the trade and exchange of indecent images perpetuated the continued abuse of these children”.

DC Cat Isaac from Salisbury CID investigated the offences. Speaking after sentencing, she said: “I would like to reiterate the judge’s comment that possession and exchange of child abuse images continues the exploitation of vulnerable children.

Former Vicars Cross teacher groped girls during lessons

AlanBlakey

A FORMER teacher has been found guilty of groping four girls in a Chester primary school in the 1970s.

Alan Blakey, 72, of Bank Street, Portmahoma, Tain, Scotland, was found guilty by a jury of six counts of indecent assault dating back to the 1970s after a trial at Chester Crown Court. He was jailed for three years.

The assaults took place over a period of a year at Oldfield Primary School in Vicars Cross.

Prosecutor Matthew Corbett Jones told the court that Blakey had repeatedly touched two of the girls over a school year when he was their class teacher and touched the other two girls in other, isolated incidents.

Mr Corbett Jones said many of the offences took place when other pupils were present in the classroom during lessons and others had taken place in the store cupboard outside of lesson time.

Mr Corbett Jones said Blakey was “willing to take risks” by sexually assaulting the children, while other pupils were just a few feet away to fulfil his sexual desires.

During the trial the court heard about a previous conviction for indecent assault by Blakey which took place at the Oldfield Primary School which led to his sacking.

Blakey pleaded guilty in 1980 of indecently assaulting a girl by touching her leg and saying “You like this, don’t you?” while she was playing chess inside the store room with another pupil.

However during the trial, Blakey said he had simply tapped the girl on the leg when she had made a good move during a chess game and said “good move” and had been told to plead guilty because it was just a technical charge which had “no sexual motive”.

Defending, Alisdair Williamson, said the four women who had come forward after all these years to make the allegations had “invented them” and were looking for compensation.

Mr Williamson said at the time of Blakey’s sacking, there would have been “playground gossip” about what had happened.

He said: “If a teacher was sacked for a sexual offence, it would be the talk of the school.

“When children talk to each other they say the most extraordinary things, ‘Oh, he touched me as well’. And after decades, these playground conversations had become a reality for these women.”

During the trial, the court heard from all four of Blakey’s victims.

Giving evidence to the trial the first woman, and key witness, said she was repeatedly assaulted by Blakey when she went to read next to his desk during lessons. The woman told the court that when she was reading he would put his hand up her skirt.

She said that she didn’t tell her parents at the time it was happening because she felt “embarrassed” and she did not know it was wrong although she knew she “didn’t like it”.

The woman said as a result of the assaults she found it difficult to sit on her father’s knee and didn’t like him cuddling her because she thought he would also touch her.

The court heard that in 2010, the woman finally went to the police with the allegations but the police initially said they would not pursue the claims.

She then contacted her MP who asked the police to reconsider and they reopened the investigations.

During cross examination, defence barrister, Alisdair Williamson, challenged the woman and said she was trying to just get compensation. The woman said she had seen a solicitor about compensation but only after the police said they would not follow up her complaint.

Mr Williamson called the woman the “driving force behind the allegations” which the woman accepted – but said she was not driven by getting compensation.

The second woman initially spoke to police in 2012 and said she was also groped by Blakey a number of times when she went up to read during lessons.

She also said she was sometimes locked in the store room and then assaulted by Blakey and he said “You like that, don’t you?” to her on one occasion.

The third woman said she was only attacked by Blakey on one occasion. The woman told police in 2012, that she was going to ballet class and had accidentally put her costume on the wrong way round. Blakey offered to help her put it on again and took her into the store room where he “touched her between the legs”. The woman said she told a friend at the time but no one else because she was “ashamed” and “felt like it was my fault”.

The fourth woman was again, only attacked once. She said that Blakey had taken a PE session and afterwards had offered the children a chance to blow his whistle.

She told the court a number of children, including herself, sat on Blakey’s knee to blow the whistle and when she did he put his hand underneath her skirt and touched her.

She said she told her parents at the time but they did not believe her until Blakey was sacked for an  incident of indecent assault.

Giving evidence, Blakey said he did not touch any of the girls during his time teaching at Oldfield Primary School. He told the court he had previously taught at a school in Helsby which he enjoyed but when he taught in Vicars Cross he did not enjoy it because the class size was “too big” with over 35 students.

When asked about his previous conviction for sexual assault, Blakey denied he had touched the girl for sexual gratification and maintained that he thought he was pleaded guilty to technical charge which would “draw a line” under the incident.

However the jury, of four women and eight men, took just three and a half hours to find him unanimously guilty on all counts of indecent assault.

During sentencing, Judge Elgan Edwards, the Recorder of Chester, told Blakey he had committed a “serious breach of trust”. He said: “When these girls were in your care, when you were supposed to be teaching them, you were sexually abusing them.

“It is a most serious breach of the trust placed in you.”

Judge Edwards told the court Blakey would have to be sentenced on the guidelines of when the offences took place which meant there was a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Judge Edwards said he had taken into account Blakey’s age and the fact that he had not committed any other offences since his conviction in 1980.

Blakey was sentenced to a total of three years in prison, told to sign the sex offenders register for life and told he would never be able to work as a teacher again.

East Lancs pervert jailed after sexual assaults and possession of child abuse images

A pervert who sexually abused a boy and a girl and had a stash of child abuse images is starting a five-year jail term.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Robert Gyles Court, 21,  of Salterforth Road, Earby had intercourse with a frightened schoolgirl at a house and twice performed sex acts on her in a wood.

Court also taught a teenaged boy — who thought he was weird — how to kiss, after making advances to him around the same time as the girl.

Police found 173 indecent images of children — males and females aged between two and 12 — on his computer.

The hearing was told although Court had no previous convictions, his behaviour had come to the attention of the police and he had been served with two Child Abduction Notices, in relation to a teenage boy and girl.

He had also been made subject of a civil anti-social behaviour order, taken out by a housing association because he had pestered a 14-year-old girl and waited outside her school.

Officers had raided his home and found the photos in January 2013, after a 14-year-old boy’s mother complained to police.

A PAEDOPHILE who sexually abused a boy and a girl and had a stash of child porn is starting a five-year jail term.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Robert Gyles Court, 21, had intercourse with a frightened schoolgirl at a house and twice performed sex acts on her in a wood.

Court also taught a teenage boy — who thought he was weird — how to kiss, after making advances to him around the same time as the girl.

Public gallery fury as Exeter man admits sex with girl and downloading extreme images

A 33-year-old man has admitted having sex with a 15 year-old girl and downloading indecent and extreme images.

Jonathan Alford also pleaded guilty to providing a fabricated document to the police during their investigation into his activities.

A woman in the public gallery had to be restrained as she shouted abuse at him as he entered his pleas at Exeter Crown Court.

Alford, of Blackthorn Close, Exeter, admitted six offences of sexual activity with a child. All involved the same 15-year-old girl and took place over the space of 14 months in 2010 and 2011.

He also admitted attempting to possess and indecent image of a child with the intention of distributing it, three offences of making indecent images and three of possessing extreme images of adults having sex with animals.

Alford also admitted a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice by proving the police with ‘a fabricated document’ between September 2011 and February 2012.

Judge Barry Cotter, QC, granted him conditional bail in order to allow him time to get his affairs in order before he receives a custodial sentence.

Mr Rupert Taylor, defending, said:”I have advised him of the sentence he can expect. He has been on bail throughout. He is a man who works and bail will enable him to obtain character references.”

A woman sitting in the public gallery gasped with horror as Alford entered his pleas. At the end of the case she tried to walk into the body of the court where she pointed at him and shouted:”You dirty, dirty, dirty bastard”.

The case was adjourned for pre sentence reports and Alford was ordered to sign on the sex offenders’ register immediately.

Social worker struck off for possessing indecent images of children

Mudassar Khan

A Reading man has been banned from practising as a social worker after he was convicted of distributing and possessing indecent images of children.

Mudassar Khan, from Reading, was jailed for two years and eight months in December at Winchester Crown Court after pleading guilty to 17 charges.

The charges related to more than 6,000 indecent images of children.

He has now been struck off the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) register.

Christine Mills, who chaired a panel of the conduct and competence committee, said: “The matters involved are so serious that they are arguably beyond repair and will have had lasting damage on his reputation and his profession.

“The nature, gravity and number of images involved, the fact that they had been distributed, and the age of those involved were such that the panel came to the decision that the only proportionate and appropriate measure in this instance is to remove the registrant from the register.”

Khan, 26, worked in Southampton and Portsmouth and had contact with at-risk children as part of his social work duties.

Hampshire Police began investigating him after his email address was used to post the images online.

Khan worked for Southampton City Council between April 2009 and January 2011, and for Portsmouth City Council for 11 months in 2011.

Both councils said they had followed safeguarding procedures when recruiting him.

The panel also gave Khan an interim suspension order in place to cover the appeal period.

Pervert who dropped date rape drug into woman’s drink & also had child abuse images is jailed

birk

A former soldier who drugged a woman’s drink so he could sexually assault her had made thousands of searches on internet rape sites.

Philip Jones, 52, was branded a danger to women after being caught putting powder into his victim’s drink by security staff at a Wirral pub.

Liverpool Crown Court heard how Jones, who became an HGV driver after leaving the Army, was with his 24-year-old victim at The Tap, in Charing Cross, Birkenhead , in February last year,  when he was seen dropping a date rape drug in her lager.

A customer alerted the doorman who then knocked the drink over, pretending it was an accident.

Michael Stephenson, prosecuting, said the woman was “incredulous” that he had tried to drug her and replied: “You’re having a laugh”.

But she then saw powder in the bottom of her glass.

When police checked CCTV, Jones, of Trafalgar Road, Birkenhead, could be seen dropping the drug in her drink.

Tests found she had been poisoned with nitrazapam, which is prescribed for insomnia and is related to the date rape drug Rohypnol. Jones was arrested and he claimed he had put some crushed-up pain killers in her drink as she had been complaining of back ache but could not explain why he had done it without her knowledge.

When his computer was seized and examined, 183 indecent child abuse images were found including “extreme porn” images.

It was also found that he had been searching internet sites including “date rape” on 52 occasions and a rape site on 23,500 occasions.  He pleaded guilty to administering noxious substances for the purpose of facilitating sexual activity and 15 offences involving possessing and making indecent images.

Jones has previous convictions for wounding and a serious sexual offence.

Judge David Aubrey, QC, said he remained a danger to women and jailed him for five years plus an extended licence of three years.

Predatory paedophile jailed after preying on and blackmailing children as young as 9

Untitled

A PREDATORY paedophile who preyed on girls as young as nine and had a fetish for strangulation has been jailed.

Robert Sinclair of Pine Hill, Epsom created dozens of online personas, preyed upon young girls and groomed children over the internet, sending them birthday presents and blackmailing them into agreeing to his demands.

Before being sentenced to 12 years in prison at Guildford Crown Court yesterday, he earlier pleaded guilty to 33 counts; including 9 counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, making, possessing and distributing indecent images, sexual assault of a 9 year old child, attempting to pervert the course of justice, blackmail, sending obscene communications and unauthorised use of a computer.

The 64-year-old befriended young girls and boys around the country pretending to be a teenager between the ages of 14 and 16. He struck up online relationships on Facebook using 31 fake accounts to win over the trust of his victims.

Through this he elicited girls and boys into sending him indecent images of themselves and also performing sex acts on webcams which he then uploaded onto file sharing websites.

Sinclair would often request his victims to strangle themselves on webcam and take images of their necks for his sexual gratification.

Officers from Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team began an investigation following information about a profile which had been set up on a file sharing website to share indecent images of children which was traced to him.

Sinclair was arrested in October last year and answered no comment at interview.

Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Steve Branch from Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team said: “Robert Sinclair carried out an extremely organised and complex operation of horrific offending which has caused a huge amount of emotional trauma to the victims.

“He displayed abhorrent behaviour in targeting, grooming and controlling the children he struck up online relationships with.

“What he asked his victims to do was particularly unpleasant and dangerous. His actions could well be recognised by more victims not realising it to be Sinclair and we would encourage those people to come forward.

“Sharing indecent images over the internet is not a victimless crime and can have a lasting and repeated impact on those that are subjected to the abuse.

“It is a stark reminder that we should all remember to stay safe while using the internet and be on our guard against suspicious interaction from strangers.

“We will continue to relentlessly pursue those individuals who commit on-line offences and bring them before the courts, as we have successfully done on this occasion.”

Sinclair was also given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for an indefinite period.
