Man tried to entice boy, 11, into having sex

Jehovah’s Witness who tried to get an 11-year-old boy to have sex with him turned himself in to police after being told to by counsellors.

Cambridge Crown Court heard Kirk Lefcovitch, 25, had repeatedly asked the child to perform sexual acts, as well as handing him pornography and sex toys.

Despite his admissions, and previous convictions against a boy aged 8 in 2000, he was spared jail.

Sara Walker, prosecuting, said: “In December last year Mr Lefcovitch asked the 11-year-old to expose himself, and the boy refused.

“The defendant then offered to show the boy his privates, to which the boy replied that he didn’t want to see it.

“He then showed the victim some porn and told him he wanted to have sex with him.

“There were occasions when the two spoke on the phone, and Mr Lefcovitch also made inappropriate comments then.”

The court heard that Lefcovitch had made a full confession to police, who were previously unaware of the incident, after being advised to do so by a counsellor at Cambridge’s Centre 33 – an organisation which gives advice to young people aged up to 25.

Georgina Gibbs, mitigating, said: “It is a very rare occurrence for an offender of this type to put themselves at risk and report themselves.

“The defendant has been receiving help from Centre 33 and his Jehovah’s Witness group.

“He is trying to go down a different course in his life. He has thrown away all his porn and has been deliberately excluding himself from activities which could have him in close proximity to youngsters.”

Lefcovitch, of The Brook, Sutton, was described in a pre-sentence report as a serious risk to children.

He has a previous conviction from 2000 for a string of sexual assaults on an 8-year-old boy.

Judge Anthony Bate said: “There was clearly an intention for the offence with the 11-year-old to go further than it did, but the prison sentences suggested in my guidelines would not be long enough for you to complete a sex offender’s course in prison.”

Judge Bate instead ordered Lefcovitch to take part in the Thames Valley Programme, which is a community sex offender group work course.

Lefcovitch was also made the subject of a 3-year community order with supervision requirements, and he must pay £400 court costs.

McKeown was pictured and exposed today – More photos at bottom of this page

Nicholas McKeown is now living at Royal William Yard, Stonehouse, Plymouth. McKeown owns and works at Plymouth karting and combat gaming.

In 2007, the then, Major Nicholas Charles McKeown MBE was convicted and jailed for possessing and making indecent photographs of children. Some were considered at the most serious level of child abuse images. They ranged from babies to girls aged up to 10 and children in their early teens. McKeown also admitted in court that he had a fetish for girls in uniform

When our undercover photographer ‘Inowhereur cusoon’ went to Plymouth karting today, it was full of families with young children. Nicholas McKeown was wandering amongst them. Nobody had any idea of his disgusting past, and at one point he even sat at reception welcoming visitors including young children.

Former Major McKeown was appointed the MBE in 1997, however it was revoked in 2008 after his conviction for child abuse images. McKeown evaded from having his picture taken when he was convicted, so we have tracked him down to make sure the public know who and what he is.

Nicholas McKeown owns Plymouth Karting which boasts a company slogan: “Indoor Karting, Outdoor Karting &Combat gaming, THE ULTIMATE PLAYGROUND”

McKeown is a well known businessman in Plymouth, sometimes rubbing shoulders with celebrities like Nicholas Hamilton, Half brother of Formula One driver, Lewis Hamilton, took a break from racing touring cars to accept the Mercedes-Benz South West karting challenge against Plymouth Argyle football club and Plymouth Albion Rugby Club. Nick Ponting, the UK Landspeed record holder also dropped in to visit. But it seems he has kept his past buried until today!

Army major Jailed Over Child abuse Images

A decorated Army hero who had 4,658 child abuse images on his laptop has been jailed for 18 months

Major Nicholas Charles McKeown MBE, who was in the Army Air Corps, said he was simply exploring his sexual curiosity and fetish for girls in uniform.

But the helicopter pilot and trainer, who was based at RAF Waddington, had downloaded explicit pictures of babies.

More than 50 pictures were considered at the most serious level of child abuse images, Lincoln Crown Court heard.

Major McKeown (48), who had led the Blue Eagles helicopter display team, served in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

He once ran across a minefield to try and save three servicemen in a crashed and burning Lynx helicopter, the court was told.

McKeown admitted 14 charges of possessing and making indecent photographs of children.

These ranged from babies to girls aged up to 10 and children in their early teens, prosecutor Phil Howes said.

McKeown, based at the station’s Air Warfare Command, kept the computer at his home in Chichester Road, Bracebridge Heath.

Lincolnshire Police searched the house on advice from German police, finding child abuse images alongside McKeown’s adult porn, he said.

Judge Michael Heath said: “You have explained what you did by saying you were exploring your sexuality.

“In doing that, you downloaded images of young children and those young children were grossly abused.”

SEX BEAST GETS LIFE - Pervert struck days after being freed

PAEDOPHILE who molested four girls within days of being freed from prison was yesterday sentenced to life.

Gerald Magee, 30, who once served five years for a sex attack, was released from Glasgow’s Barlinnie jail on March 30 this year.

He started work as a security guard at a building site in Blackburn, West Lothian, on April 2.

And the first offence, involving a 12-year-old girl, took place the following day in a cabin on the site.

Several days later, at another building site in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, he committed offences against three girls – two aged nine and one 10-year-old.

Magee, of Kyle Street, in Glasgow centre, was arrested and admitted to police that he was sexually attracted to young girls.

He first pleaded guilty to the charges at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

But the maximum jail term which can be imposed at sheriff courts is three years and Sheriff Ian Simpson decided he should face a longer sentence.

He was sent to the High Court in Edinburgh where judge Lady Cosgrove yesterday handed down the life sentence.

Magee will be eligible for parole in two-and-a-half years but because he can only be freed on licence from a life sentence, he could be sent back to jail to finish his life term if he offends again after his release.

Magee is believed to be the first person in Scotland to get life after being sent to the High Court by a sheriff.

Lesley Irving, of Scottish Women’s Aid, welcomed the decision and said: “This sheriff has understood the seriousness of the situation and has done exactly the right thing.

“Obviously, he took heed of the gravity of the crime and the need to protect the community.”

Computer man had child abuse images

A COMPUTER programmer from Sutton Coldfield who downloaded over 1,300 child abuse images and movies has been given a three year community order at Birmingham Crown Court.

David Evans, 56, of Driffold, Maney, who had previously admitted eight charges of making indecent images, was also ordered to pay PS500 costs and register as a sex offender for five years.

Judge Murray Creed said he had taken into account Evans’s remorse and attempt to get help for himself.

Jennifer Josephs, prosecuting, said as well as the obscene pictures, police who searched Evans’ home in 2012 also found a file sharing programme which would have enabled others to access the images.

Mums in baby batterer Adam Hewitt case hit out at social services

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

TWO young mums have hit out at social services after accusing them of failures that allowed a man to batter their babies.

Adam Hewitt, 25, hit, shook and squeezed the two babies, leaving one with serious injuries.

He was jailed for a total of five years for two counts of GBH by Judge Jeremy Baker QC at Hull Crown Court last week.

The mums, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told a Sunday newspaper they felt the sentence isn’t long enough.

The first mother, who was just 17 years old when she met Hewitt, said: “He got just five years for attacking both babies. It’s disgraceful.

“I nearly got sectioned one night because I just couldn’t deal with it any more.”

Social services insisted her mother had to look after her child instead of her while the investigation was carried out.

The woman said: “Mum was the only one allowed to be with my child alone.

“I couldn’t face watching my mum doing what I should be doing and it hurt like hell.

“My baby was running to my mum crying and it killed me. It got on top of me and I turned to drink.”

The second mother still feels bitter about the way social services handled the matter.

Two senior social workers were sacked in the wake of the investigation after they were accused of failing to protect the second baby.

That child’s mother said: “For the past three years, I have been led to believe what happened was my fault and I had let my child down. I think I deserve an apology.

“Sacking two people isn’t good enough – they can’t go to work now but my life is ruined.

“Guilt isn’t the word for what I feel, it’s something past guilt.”

Hewitt was working as a holiday rep when he met one of the mothers in Bridlington in 2007. The former pig farmer assaulted her baby after it was left in his care.

Friends and relatives of the woman saw him throw the child three metres across a room on to a sofa and dangle the baby by the leg.

When his girlfriend left him alone with her baby to go to the supermarket, he attacked the child, causing a complex skull fracture.

The baby spent nine days in hospital.

Hewitt’s relationship with the mother ended when suspicions over his involvement in the child’s injury grew.

In 2008, he met another mother of a young baby.

She noticed marks on her ten-month-old baby and a red handprint on its face, but refused to believe Hewitt was responsible.

Four weeks later, he squeezed and shook her baby, causing a serious head injury.

The trial heard the baby suffered 11 fractured ribs and a broken leg.

The child had to spend a month in hospital, needing emergency surgery.

Hewitt was given a two-year sentence for the first attack and three years for the second to run consecutively.

During sentencing, Judge Jeremy Baker QC told Hewitt he had been given a jail sentence because he was considered a risk to children.

He said: “I am satisfied you pose significant risk to very young children.

“You have a low tolerance level to the behaviour of young children and you lose your temper and you are unsuitable to be left in sole charge.”

Bridlington man Adam Hewitt jailed for injuring two babies

A Bridlington man who caused serious injuries to two babies in separate attacks has been jailed.

Adam Hewitt, 25, left a baby with a fractured skull in 2007. Two years later he attacked a second child, leaving it with permanent brain damage.

Hull Crown Court heard that at the time of the incidents Hewitt had been in a relationship with the babies’ mothers.

He was jailed for five years after being convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm at a previous hearing.

The court heard Hewitt was unable control his temper and was described as a danger to young children.

Speaking after the sentencing, Det Insp Alan Dorning, of Humberside Police said: “Adam Hewitt managed to convince two women that he was on the face of it a caring and loving partner when in fact he went on to harm the children.

“He did so when there were no witnesses and when there was nobody there to defend the children.”

Child sex offender given 14-year sentence

omid

A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 14 years after he was convicted of rape and engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Omid Ali, of James Wolfe Road, Oxford, was also sentenced for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity with others.

Passing sentence yesterday at Oxford Crown Court, Judge Gordon Risius said the abuse had started in 2011 when the girl was aged 14 and continued until 2012.

He said the defendant used threats to convince his victim to have sex with two of his friends, neither of whom have been tried.

Judge Risius told Ali: “You treated her with contempt, as an object for your own sexual gratification, knowing her true age, and taking advantage of her immaturity.” He added the effect of his “outrageous behaviour” was that the girl kept quiet for some time, before eventually reporting the abuse, leading to his arrest in November last year.

Judge Risius said he would also have to pay a £120 victims’ surcharge.

Ali will also be on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.

Registered sex offender admits distributing child abuse images

A sex offender is in prison awaiting his fate after he pleaded guilty to distributing images of child abuse.

Ronald Stewart Harcourt was already a registered sex offender when he distributed child abuse images and encouraged others to do the same.

The 51-year-old admitted a total of 14 charges at Teesside Crown Court today.

Harcourt has been assessed as a dangerous offender, the court was told.

He pleaded guilty to six specimen charges of distributing indecent images of children using an email identity.

The defendant also admitted six specimen charges of encouraging or assisting an offence, the distribution of such photographs.

He admitted one charge of making indecent photographs of children.

All 13 of these crimes were committed between October 2012 and February 2013.

In addition, he pleaded guilty to one charge of failing to comply with requirements as a sex offender between October 2009 and September 2012.

He failed to tell the police that he’d opened a bank account and created four email accounts over the three-year period.

Harcourt, formerly of Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, now of no fixed address, created one of the accounts in 2009, the rest in 2012.

The full facts of Harcourt’s offending have not yet been outlined in court.

Yvonne Taylor, defending, said a probation officer concluded Harcourt was a “high risk of causing harm to children”.

She asked for the case to be adjourned for a expert’s medical report to be prepared.

She said this might help decide on the issue of whether Harcourt was a dangerous offender.

Judge George Moorhouse remanded Harcourt in custody until sentencing on August 1.

He told the defendant: “In the meantime please cooperate with he medical advisor who’s going to carry out an examination.”

Bus pervert from Waltham Cross jailed for rubbing himself in front of teenage girls

A dad-of-four from Waltham Cross has been jailed for a string of sex offences on board buses.

Romanian Cornel Popa would target young teenage girls on their way to school or college, rubbing himself in front of them and making lewd suggestions.

Popa, 44, from High Street admitted two offences of sexual assault and four of outraging public decency when he appeared in custody today (Monday June 2) at St Albans Crown Court.

It was in January of this year that Popa was arrested for touching the bottom of a woman cyclist and released on bail.

But Simon Stirling, prosecuting, said the following month Popa had boarded a bus travelling between Hatfield and Stevenage and rubbed his private parts over the top of his trousers in front of another woman passenger, leaving her shocked and upset.

Then, on his way to court on March 12 he struck again.

That morning he boarded a 310 bus that was travelling towards Ware.

The prosecutor said there were a number of teenage boys and girls on the bus making their way to school.

A 16-year-old girl became concerned when Popa sat opposite her and kissed her hand and told her he liked her, said Mr Stirling.

She noticed he was rubbing his crotch area and he told her: “This is for you.”

Noticing she had a lip piercing, the court was told Popa made a lewd suggestion to the girl before she got off the bus.

A 17-year-old girl travelling to school had also been approached by Popa that morning on a bus.

Once more she noticed he was rubbing himself and eventually she complained to the driver.

Another teenage girl noticed Popa appeared to be getting a “thrill” as he rubbed himself over his clothing in front of her.

The court heard Popa subsequently appeared in court that day and admitted a charge of sexually assaulting to woman cyclist in January.

He was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and placed on supervision with an unpaid work order.

That afternoon, having left court, he was promptly arrested again for the offences earlier in the day.

The court heard he had a previous conviction for attempted rape back in Romania, for which he had been jailed for five years.

Judge John Plumstead was told Popa’s four children had returned to Romania with their mother and had ended up in care.
He was jailed for a total of three years and four months.

“Unless he changes, this man is a danger to his victims,” said the judge.

His name will also go on the sex offenders register and the judge also made him the subject of a sexual offences prevention order, which prevents him from approaching lone women on buses or in any public place or placing his hands down his trousers in a public place.

Pervert who abused schoolboy jailed

A pervert who groomed a teenage boy before sexually assaulting him has been jailed.

Raymond Yates, 58, admitted the historic offences against the youngster when the boy was aged between 11 and 13 years old.

Preston Crown Court heard Yates, of Chorley Old Road, Chorley, befriended the boy’s mum before abusing him sexually.

Jeremy Grout-Smith, prosecuting, told the court Yates would engineer situations where he could be alone with the boy.

He said the offences were a gross breach of trust of the boy’s mother and had involved an element of grooming.

In the years between the abuse and the boy – who is now an adult – has suffered depression.

He has also suffered with low self-esteem which has affected his school and work life.

Yates was handed a four month immediate prison sentence and was ordered to sign on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

He was also handed an indefinite sex offenders’ prevention order (SOPO).

He will be subject to the vetting and barring procedures to prevent him from working with children and vulnerable adults after he is released from prison.

Man who sent sex messages to schoolgirls was snared in online trap

petch

A man who sent explicit sex messages to schoolgirls, sometimes posing as a youth, was caught in a sting operation going to meet a 14-year-old.

James Alexander Petch did not realise that the Laura he was due to see in Halifax was actually fictitious and that he had been set up by Online Paedophile Investigations who expose such predators.

Instead he was filmed and the footage of him was put on Youtube, Patrick Palmer prosecuting told Leeds Crown Court yesterday.

Petch was initially arrested in March last year at his home in Enfield Drive, Batley after inciting one girl aged 15 in text messages to perform sexual acts.

He asked her to send him photographs of herself and her knickers, pairs of which were found with her DNA on in his chest of drawers among his boxer shorts.

He also sent her suggestive photos of himself sometimes wearing women’s underwear.

Mr Palmer told the court Petch was bailed while his laptop was further examined and his phone was analysed. During the time he was in contact with the 15-year-old he was also found to be sending messages to three other girls.

One lived in North Somerset and was persuaded to send photograph of herself including topless after sexual messages in which they discussed his driving down for sex.

He even used a photo of a boy in his late teens to support his profile.

Adam Birkby said Petch began leading a double life after becoming depressed by the death of his father. “Part of the time he lived a law-abiding and settled life but he had this dark side to him.”

He said Petch had not had physical contact with the girls concerned and now appreciated the seriousness of what he had been doing and that he needed help.

Petch, 36, admitted 11 charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, four of making indecent photos, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act and attempting to meet a child following grooming.

He was jailed for four years eight months.

Jail for sex attacker who sexually assaulted girl, 12

A PAEDOPHILE who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl, leaving her world “turned upside down”, has been jailed.

Peter Gates, 48, of Elizabeth Avenue, carried out the sickening attack in Chadwell Heath on November 17, 2012.

He was sentenced yesterday (June 2) to two years and four months in prison.

In her victim impact statement, read by Judge Martin Zeidman QC, she said: “I did not fully understand what was going on.

“The night I told my family our world was turned upside down.

“Every time someone brings him up my throat stops working and I feel like something is stuck in there.”

Gates was found guilty of sexual assault on a child but acquitted of raping the same victim after a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

A further 11 counts of sexual assault, relating to the same girl between the ages of six and 12, were ordered to lie on the court file.

Gates still maintains he never did anything wrong.

Sentencing, Judge Zeidman said: “You have done something very terrible and the consequences of your actions will last for a very long time.

“Much longer than the imprisonment that you will suffer.

“I am sentencing you on one single count of sexual assault. You were found not guilty of rape and despite two trials the jury have not found verdicts on the other counts.

“They could not be sure the long-term abuse from ages six to 12 on the victim was concrete – I mention this only to reinforce that I must not assume you are guilty of any other wrongdoing.

“No-one exactly knows what long-term harm you will have done to her.”

Gates was sentenced to serve 28 months in prison and will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the next ten years.

The court heard Gates had tried to kill himself in February 2013 after his wife filed divorce papers when the allegations of child sex abuse came to light.

The moment a pervert was trapped by Stinson Hunter

lee

THIS is the moment vigilante paedophile hunters snared an internet predator who was trying to groom teenage girls.

Lee Middleton was jailed for three years yesterday after he was twice caught by “stings” when he planned to meet children after chatting to them online.

In fact the 40-year-old was communicating with members of a group called Stinson Hunter, which uses “decoys” posing as teenagers to target potential abusers.

Matthew Walsh, prosecuting, said Middleton, of Moorbank, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, used the Bandoo messenger service to try to groom who he thought were two girls during August last year.

He told Judge Ian Pringle the defendant first believed he was in contact with a 13-year-old named Jodie – sending pictures of himself naked and arranging a meeting in Nuneaton.

But when he arrived, Middleton was confronted and filmed by the group, as well as being arrested after they passed evidence to the police. In a video posted on YouTube he is asked by the group if he thinks what he’s done is acceptable and tells them: “No comment, I’ve got nothing to say to you mate.”

Mr Walsh told the court while on bail the former warehouse worker tried to meet another girl, who he thought was 15, but he was again fooled by the vigilantes, who contacted the police.

At an earlier hearing Middleton pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and one count of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Passing sentence, Judge Pringle said while there had not been a victim in the case, he told the defendant this was “not for want of you trying”.

He made Middleton subject to a sexual offences prevention order and said he will be on the sex offenders’ register for at least 10 years.

After the sentencing, group founder Stinson Hunter said Middleton’s sentence was the best he had seen out of the 12 convictions the group had been responsible for since January last year.

He said: “When he turned up, he was unrepentant. He is a dangerous guy and that’s a really good result. I am really quite chuffed. It is the best result we have had.”

The Warwickshire-based man added: “He got in touch with me. We set up a profile as a girl and then we wait for people to message us.

“In Lee Middleton’s case we told him how old we were and he carried on talking. He did say some explicit things and sent indecent images.”

He said the group had spoken to Oxfordshire men online while posing as underage girls. But he said Middleton was the only one to have agreed to meet up.

He added: “The internet is a dangerous place and parents need to watch what their children are doing. These people are out there and they will try to take advantage of your children.”

Hitchin pensioner James Mahoney jailed for child sex offences

A Hitchin pensioner has been jailed for 32 months for sexually assaulting two young girls over a period of 18 months.

Divorced James Mahoney, 69, of Harkness Court, Franklin Gardens, three times put his hand inside the knickers of a child aged 13 to 14 and once touched a girl’s vagina over her clothes when she was aged either 10 or 11.

As he jailed Mahoney at Cambridge Crown Court, Judge Mark Lucraft QC told him : “Your offences have had a physical and psychological impact on these two girls and also their parents.”

He praised the girls for revealing what had happened to them, saying: “It takes enormous courage on their part to make the complaint they did.”

Mahoney pleaded guilty to three offences of sexual activity with the older child, in August and September 2012 and in June/July 2013.

He also admitted one offence of sexual assault against the other girl in about September 2013.

In addition to jailing him, the judge also imposed an indefinite sexual offences prevention order, restricting Mahoney’s access to children under 16 and ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.

Prosecutor Michael Procter said the older girl reported what had happened to her mother and police were alerted in August last year. Mahoney denied it.

The second girl reported her allegation about a month later and again the defendant denied anything happened.

In victim impact statements read to the court, both girls said they had been anxious about having to give evidence and were relieved they did not have to

Mitigating, Bill Maley said Mahoney had acted completely out of character and was “genuinely remorseful” about the effect of his actions.

He added: “Mahoney accepts the experience will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

One can only hope that these young girls will turn into women who will still be able to have a normal existence and the effect of this will lessen over the years. But clearly it will never go away.”

The court heard that Mahoney, who lives alone, suffered a heart attack after the complaints surfaced and has had a pacemaker fitted.

The barrister said the defendant was supported in court by his daughter, sister and friends.

“He has been a well-liked man and appears to have been the life and soul of the party and helpful. He has ruined that reputation.

“He has lost pretty much everything because of this, but it was his choice.”

Probation order for sex harassment

A MATHS tutor who admitted harassing a 16-year-old girl walked free from court on Friday with a two-year probation order.

Craigavon Crown Court heard it was not the first time that the behaviour of pensioner Francis Noel Stroud, 68, had been called into question.

Ordering Stroud to follow probation instructions to the letter or face jail, Judge Patrick Lynch QC warned him that the authorities had reopened investigations into his dealings with other pupils he taught privately.

Originally charged with sexually assaulting the 16-year-old on dates between February 1 and April 20 in 2011, Stroud, from Sandymount Mews in Dunmurry, instead pleaded guilty to harassing the girl.

The court heard how the girl’s father arranged for Stroud to tutor his daughter, but she became upset when Stroud sent her an inappropriate “chain” of text messages and “rubbed the injured party’s leg”.

Man raped his dying stepdaughter

A man who raped his unconscious teenage stepdaughter as she lay dying from a head injury has been jailed for nine years at the High Court in Glasgow.

Sentencing Judge Lord Philip told George McKee, 50, he had committed an “appalling crime” which filled members of the public with “horror”.

McKee admitted raping Kerry, 14, in her Paisley home on 23 July, 2005 while she was unconscious.

Kerry died soon after the rape from a head injury caused by a fall.

Lord Philip said: “Any sentence I impose has to reflect the revulsion and horror society feels at this kind of behaviour.”

Kerry was drunk and had fallen several times before she was raped.

McKee tried to deny the attack, but DNA evidence left him with little choice but to plead guilty. The violence of the attack caused injuries to the victim’s private parts.

Lord Philip said: “Instead of looking after her and being concerned for her condition and seeking medical help, you took advantage of her complete helplessness and raped her when she was in a state of complete unconsciousness.”

In addition to the nine-year sentence, McKee will be monitored for three years after release.

He pleaded guilty to raping Kerry at her home in Dalskeith Avenue, Paisley.

The court heard Kerry had fallen ill after taking a cocktail of alcohol and drugs including cannabis and Valium.

Her death less than two and a half hours after being raped was caused by head injuries sustained during falls.

These included a fall down stairs after which McKee took her to his bed and raped her.

He was found in bed with his stepdaughter by a relative.

When paramedics arrived, they found a faint pulse.

However, she died later in the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

A postmortem examination revealed she was still alive when her stepfather raped her.

It found she had horrific injuries consistent with being raped with considerable force.

The court was told McKee and Kerry’s mother had lived as man and wife and he treated the girl as his own.

Grieving mum spits fury at pervert McKee

THE mother of the dying 14-year-old raped by her own step dad begged the courts last night to cage the pervert for the rest of his life.

Lorna Muchan was at the High Court to hear her ex-lover, George McKee, admit raping her unconscious daughter Kerry.

And afterwards, she agreed to speak to tell the world how the horrific attack has torn her family apart.

Lorna, 38, said: “McKee is a vile beast. He has destroyed us, destroyed our lives.

“I’m terrified he will only get a few years.

“I want him locked up till he dies. I want him to suffer like we have.”

McKee, 50, pounced on Kerry in the home they shared as she lay helpless and mortally wounded after a fall.

The youngster’s aunt placed her in the recovery position and told McKee not to touch her. But McKee lay in wait until the aunt had gone, then took Kerry upstairs to his bedroom.

Kerry died in hospital of her head injuries hours later and the post mortem revealed that she had been violently raped.

McKee tried to deny the attack, but DNA evidence left him with little choice but to plead guilty.

The beast had been on bail before yesterday’s hearing. But he was behind bars last night, waiting to be sentenced next month.

McKee had been a father figure to Kerry for years. But he raped her in July last year at their home in Paisley, near Glasgow.

Kerry had been drinking with pals and had smoked cannabis and taken valium.

Neil Beardmore, prosecuting, told the High Court in Glasgow: “During the course of the evening Kerry had fallen a few times. Two friends took her to her house.”

Kerry arrived home at 12.20am and was put to bed. But she got up again in an agitated state and fell down the stairs.

Her aunt, Hazel, found her. Thinking Kerry had passed out through drink, Hazel put her in the recovery position and told McKee to leave her there while she went round the corner to her house to fetch Lorna.

Hazel then left McKee alone with Kerry.

At 2.15am, a friend who was staying with the family went to McKee’s room to say goodnight to him, and found him in bed with his stepdaughter.

Half an hour later, Kerry’s sister Amanda, 16, and brother Anthony returned to the house to see how she was.

Mr Beardmore said: “Amanda found Kerry in bed next to the accused. Kerry was on her side with her trousers and pants down.”

Kerry’s top had also been removed. Amanda began hitting McKee and screaming at him, demanding an explanation.

The rapist turned to look at Kerry, then pulled her trousers and pants up.

An ambulance was called. Kerry’s pulse was weak and paramedics massaged her chest to try to get her heart going.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, but was pronounced dead at 4.50am.

A post mortem revealed that Kerry died of head injuries sustained in her series of falls.

But it also uncovered injuries consistent with a sexual attack of “considerable force”.

McKee told police Kerry had come home drunk and shouting for her mum. He said he put her on his bed and lay beside her, but denied undressing her or raping her. McKee claimed he had been aware of Kerry climbing over his legs to go to the toilet, but had then fallen asleep.

Mr Beardmore said: “He went on to say that he knew it wasn’t him because he wouldn’t touch his daughter.”

But McKee’s lies were exposed when DNA tests proved he was the rapist. And defence QC Norman Ritchie said he gave his client” fairly blunt advice” about his plea.

As a result, the pervert admitted his guilt. Prosecutors accepted his plea of not guilty to a charge of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards another girl nearly 10 years ago.

Judge Lord Phillip sent McKee, a first offender, to jail to await sentence.

He also called for reports, including an assessment of the risk the rapist may pose in the future. Lorna said outside court: “When I first heard George had raped Kerry I couldn’t believe it. Then it all began to sink in and it makes me feel sick inside.

“I deeply regret ever having met him.

“I feel horrible and disgusted at what he’s done. In my mind he no longer exists.

“I’m really, really relieved we don’t have to face a trial. I know there are photos of Kerry’s injuries and I don’t think we could have faced seeing that.

“At least I feel a bit of justice has been done because McKee will be locked up.

“But I’m terrified that he will only get a few years. I’ve got a horrible feeling in my stomach.

“I’m scared he will go and do the same again.

“I hope he gets at least 10 years and I really want him to rot in hell.”

May 2014: McColgan is still living in Omagh

Violent rapist ‘living in Omagh’

McColgan

A VIOLENT rapist released from prison seven years into a 15 year sentence is believed to have set up home in Omagh.

Patrick McColgan is back roaming Northern Ireland’s streets after being locked up in 2005 for attacking and falsely imprisoning a woman in Sion Mills.

McColgan’s original 20 year sentence was reduced to 15 years on appeal, despite judges recognising that he posed a major risk to women and children.

Days earlier, he had been released from jail where he was serving a sentence for attempting to rape a child and for indecent assault on a child.

Because he was sent down prior to the scrapping of 50 per-cent remission for sex offenders, the Tyrone man recently walked free after serving just seven years behind bars. His release came to light after he was reportedly spotted visiting relatives in the Strabane area.

Residents on the Carlton Drive housing estate raised the alarm, prompting a local community association to speak to the PSNI and initiate a warning leaflet drop.

McColgan became one of Northern Ireland’s most notorious sex criminals after his lurid history was revealed during his trial seven years ago.

The trial was told he had 421 previous convictions, several of them of a grisly sexual nature.

Serial sex offender sentence cut

A serial sex offender has had his jail sentence cut by five years, even though appeal court judges accepted he posed a major risk to women and children.

Patrick McColgan, of O’Kane Terrace, Strabane, was jailed for 20 years in April 2005 for falsely imprisoning a woman and indecently assaulting her.

Days earlier, he had been released from jail where he was serving a sentence for attempting to rape a child.

The Appeal Court said the trial judge’s increased sentence was not appropriate.

The trial had been told McColgan had 421 previous convictions for offences including rape and indecent assault.

At the trial, the judge had applied a 150% “uplift” to the starting point of eight years for false imprisonment.

McColgan had enticed a woman into his car, then locked the doors and drove her to Gortin, where he kissed her before knocking her head on the steering wheel.

The woman, then aged 25, eventually managed to escape, making her way over barbed wire fences and across fields until she reached a farmhouse.

She was left suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and fearful for her own security.

Lord Justice Campbell, reading a judgement written by the Lord Chief Justice Sir Brian Kerr, said the judge was wrong to apply a percentage uplift to the commensurate sentence in order to determine the protective element of the sentence.

“This, we believe, led to his selection of a greater sentence for this element than was appropriate,” said Lord Justice Campbell, sitting with Lord Justice Sheil.

“We are not unmindful of the substantial risk that this offender presents but we consider that a protective element of 12 years is excessive, especially since this was imposed on the false imprisonment charge.”

The judges reduced the 20-year sentence to 15.

Chef guilty of raping 14-year-old girl in Dunoon, Argyll

Prakash Giri was remanded in custody after being convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl

A man has been convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in Dunoon and his friend has been found guilty of having underage sex with her friend.

Prakash Giri, 29, and Arjun Kharel, 28, both from Nepal, worked as chefs at a local hotel and encountered the girls, who were drunk, on 28 June 2012.

Giri denied rape but his DNA was found on the girl’s underwear. Kharel claimed he believed the other girl was 18.

Sentence on both men was deferred at the High Court in Glasgow.

Temporary judge Sean Murphy QC remanded Giri in custody, but allowed Kharel bail.

Both men, who were in the UK legally and working at a hotel in Dunoon, were placed on the sex offenders register.

The trial heard that both men encountered the 14-year-old girls as they walked along the beach at Alexandra Parade and took advantage of them.

Both girls had been drinking vodka and were very drunk.

Prosecutor Richard Goddard told the jury: “Mr Giri didn’t care that this was a 14-year-old girl.

“He just didn’t care that she was in no condition to consent to intercourse with him, due to the severely intoxicated state she was in.

“Mr Kharel just didn’t care that the girl he had sex with was only 14. He knew that because she told him.”

In evidence the rape victim said: “I was staggering everywhere. I couldn’t really walk, couldn’t really see and can’t really remember much.

“I kept blacking out. I was too drunk.”

She told the court that she never consented to any sexual activity.

The girl told of falling on the steps down to the beach and added the next thing she recalled was lying on her back with Giri on top on her and her friend trying to pull him off her.

Her friend told the High Court in Glasgow: “I saw him on top of my friend and it looked like they were having sex. She didn’t look right … she was lying on her back … to me she looked unconscious.”

A 17-year-old passer-by in a car was so concerned about the state of the two girls, who were naked from the waist down after the sexual assaults, that he phoned the police.

When police arrived they found the rape victim laying on the ground apparently unconscious.

During his trial Kharel admitted having sex with the rape victim’s 14-year-old friend, but claimed he didn’t realise how young she was.

However the girl said in evidence that they had a conversation where they asked each other their name and age.
