Paedophile jailed after babysitting schoolgirls in North-east
A convicted paedophile banned from being alone with schoolgirls has been locked up after a court heard he used “predatory” behaviour to get time alone with North-east children.
Alastair Hooper was jailed for five years in 2009 for committing child sex offences in England. Released early from his sentence, the 37-year-old was subject to a court order barring him from contact with girls under 16.
But he soon struck up a relationship with an Ellon mum that allowed him to twice spend time alone with her two young daughters.
Hooper, from Southampton, was locked up again for four and-a-half years at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO). Sheriff Annella Cowan slammed his behaviour as “predatory” as she sent him back to jail.
