Pervert assaulted schoolgirls by licking his lips as he shook their hands on Stoke-on-Trent car park
PERVERT Gregoria Bulalacao sexually assaulted two schoolgirls while licking his lips and sticking out his tongue – by shaking hands with them.
The 47-year-old approached the teenagers in a supermarket car park when they were on their way to school.
He called them ‘beautiful ladies’ and shook their hands while flirting with them, North Staffordshire magistrates heard.
Now Bulalacao – a married father-of-one – has been handed a community order with supervision after pleading guilty to two charges of sexual assault.
Prosecutor Sabrina Naz said the girls were dropped off by their mother on a Co-operative car park in Stoke-on-Trent at 8.10am on February 13. They were waiting for their friend when Bulalacao got out of his car and walked up to them.
Miss Naz said: “He said, ‘Hello beautiful ladies’ and asked the girls their ages. The defendant walked back to his car as the girls were ignoring him. He could not remember saying ‘I love you’ but may have said ‘Bye Bye beautiful ladies’.”
Bulalacao went in the shop and the conversation continued when he came out. He returned to the girls and shook their hands.
Miss Naz said: “He did ask if they like girls or boys. They ignored him so he went.”
Bulalacao, of Lodge Road, Penkhull, admitted acting in a sexual way by licking his lips and sticking his tongue out.
The court heard he accepts his behaviour would have scared the girls. He accepted he was flirting and his language may have been perceived as sexual.
In a victim statement, one of the youngsters said the incident left her anxious and scared.
Najeeb Ali, mitigating, said Bulalacao, who comes from the Philippines and has been in this country 11 years, regrets his ‘foolish behaviour’ during the ‘short incident’.
He added: “He said in his interview the girls were giggling at him. He has odd teeth.”
District Judge David Taylor sentenced Bulalacao to an 18-month community order with supervision and a requirement to take part in the Facing Forwards one-to-one sex offender programme.
He was also fined £100 with £400 costs and a £60 surcharge and he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for five years.
Mr Taylor said: “By your guilty plea you accept you were acting in a sexual manner by licking your lips and sticking your tongue out flirting with them. “And in doing so you shook the hands of two of those girls.
“This is a very unusual case on its facts because the sexual touching relates to what in many ways is an ordinary thing of life, shaking somebody’s hand. But I am quite satisfied you knew what you were doing at that time was sexual.”
