Cadets were abused by woman, 29
A NEWQUAY woman who sexually abused two teenage air cadets has been jailed for 12 months.
Truro Crown Court heard on Monday how Kayleigh Rundle, 23, had abused two girls aged 13 and 15, during an Air Cadet Corps summer camp at RAF St Mawgan last year.
Rundle, a sergeant in the ATC, of Sweetbriar Crescent, pleaded guilty to three charges, including kissing and attempting to kiss her victims.
Mike Gregson, for the defence, stressed that the younger girl had consented to what happened after they had talked on the internet.
She only told her teacher when she was upset after Rundle had texted her to say that it was wrong and must not happen again.
Judge Christopher Harvey Clark, QC, accepted the girl had consented and that Rundle, a woman of previous good character, was remorseful.
But, he said, she had committed very serious offences when in a position of great trust.
The judge imposed a ten-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order and told Rundle she must sign the sex offenders register for the next ten years.
