Army reservist given suspended sentence for possessing over 1000 child abuse images

An army reservist from Ruislip has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for 24 months, for 13 counts of various offences involving indecent images of children.

Anthony Malcolm, from Linden Avenue, Ruislip Manor, admitted making an indecent image of children found on his computer and mobile phone, possession of extreme pornography, distributing indecent images of children and possessing prohibited images of children.

He was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday and will be subject to the sex offender’s register for 10 years.

27-year-old Malcolm was arrested in July last year after it was discovered an indecent video had been uploaded to his home address in December 2012.

A search warrant of his home was conducted and over 1000 indecent images and movies of children were found on a number of storage devices.

Detective Constable Phil Clarke of the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: “The public should be reassured that investigation into any form of child abuse is taken very seriously by the Met’s Child Abuse Command and we will work tirelessly to bring offenders like Malcolm to justice.”
