Pervert market inspector jailed for child sex assaults
A man from Doncaster has been convicted and sentenced for five counts of sexual offences against two girls under 16.
Robert Buckley, 54, of Tickhill Road, Balby, was found guilty of two counts of inciting sexual activity with a child under 16 and three counts of indecent assault of a girl under 14.
The indecent assaults were committed in 1996 when Buckley was 32 years-old and the inciting sexual activity offences he committed in 2012.
Buckley met and befriended the girls while he worked as a market inspector in Doncaster.
He was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, April 8 to 12 months in prison and put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.
DC Richard Dickinson said: “I want to praise both the victims in this case for having the courage to come forward and report these offences to the police.
“We will always investigate reports made to us, regardless of when the offences were committed, and securing a conviction in this case I hope highlights our commitment to protecting victims and ensuring those responsible are prosecuted.”
