Teenager raped six-year-old child claiming he was ‘curious’
A teenager who admitted raping a six-year-old girl claiming he was “curious” has been remanded in custody
Jay Wicek attacked the child at a property in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire last year.
The child eventually told her mother sparking a police investigation.
It led to Wicek admitting at the High Court in Glasgow to raping the child between March and May last year.
The 16-year-old, of Camelon, Stirlingshire, was remanded in custody and will learn his fate in May.
The court heard how the victim’s mother had noticed changes in her daughter, including her not wanting to visit the bathroom or go to bed.
In early May, the child then revealed what Wicek had done to her and police were alerted.
Wicek was later quizzed and said he had not wanted to hurt the child, but that he had been “curious”.
Prosecutor Margaret Barron told the court the young victim continues to suffer nightmares and is not coping well at school.
Judge Lady Rae deferred sentencing for reports and also placed Wicek on the sex offenders register.
