Paedophile jailed for multiple child rapes

capture

A Northampton man has been jailed for a total of 16 years for a campaign of sexual abuse against children, including the multiple rape of a child under the age of 13.

Jason Scott James, aged 46, formerly of Duston, must serve a further six years on licence following completion of the sentence handed down at Northampton Crown Court.

James pleaded guilty to four counts of rape against a child under 13. In addition, he was convicted of two rapes against a child aged under 16, and one against another child under the age of 16.

He also pleaded guilty to one allegation of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

Pervert downloaded over 4,000 images of children as young as two being subjected to sickening abuse

lang

A pervert who downloaded images of children as young as two being subjected to sickening abuse has been locked up.

Over five years, Graham Langley amassed over 4,000 “distressing and disturbing” pictures and videos including 1,791 in the most severe category in law.

He committed the offences in the Redcar area between June 2011 and this June.

Defending, John Nixon, told Teesside Crown Court Langley said he initially downloaded adult pornography “due to issues in his marriage”.

When the programme he used was barred by his internet provider he began accessing another which, he claimed, downloaded the unlawful material.

“He accepts he used that programme knowing it was likely to produce more of the same material,” said Mr Nixon.

“Not all of the images were seen and all of the images were deleted.”

Langley’s health deteriorated in 1999 with arthritis then renal failure, the court was told, and he is now on dialysis three days a week.

He and his wife separated on the day he was arrested for the offences after many years of marriage.

The 57-year-old pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and two charges of possessing prohibited images of children.

The court heard he has one relevant previous conviction for which he was jailed in 1999 for indecently assaulting two young victims under the age of 13.

Sentencing him, Judge James Brown said he accepted the images did not start out of an unlawful nature and Langley was initially searching for adult pornography “because of issues between you and your wife”.

But he added the material downloaded contained children being subjected to the most appalling forms of abuse” that was “frankly hardly to believe”.

He jailed Langley, of Drub Lane, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, for 16 months and made him the subject of a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Pervert pretended he was Hollywood film producer and lurked outside west London school to prey on girls

film

A sexual predator who lurked outside a west London school preying on girls has been jailed for four years.

Sleazy Jacky Jhaj drove around Hounslow in his silver 4×4 picking up schoolchildren, plying them with alcohol and giving them lifts to parties hosted by other pupils.

The “dangerous” pervert, who pretended he was just 21 and groomed a 15-year-old girl for sex. He also had sexual activity with another girl.

He claimed he was a top Hollywood film producer who had befriended the schoolchildren as part of covert research for a screenplay he was writing.

Jhaj, of Ochard Avenue, Feltham, was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity after a two week trial at Isleworth Crown Court.

He was locked up for four years on Tuesday.

Jhaj prowled around the school in July last year in his silver Range Rover when he was 29.

Beast sentenced for sex offences including rape of underage girl

luke

A TEENAGER has admitted raping an underage girl in a park and having sex with another girl, also underage, after grooming her.

Luke Brecknell, aged 19, of no fixed abode admitted four ‘serious’ sexual offences in Droitwich when he appeared before his honour judge Nicholas Cole at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday.

He admitted rape and sexual activity with a girl of 15 in October last year.

He further admitted sexual activity with another girl of 14 and meeting her following sexual grooming in July of this year.

The complainant in the rape contracted a sexually transmitted infection (chlamydia).

However, the judge said it was not possible to establish to a certainty that the defendant had infected her but described it as ‘an irresistable inference’.

The vulnerability of both victims was also considered an aggravating factor

In July this year Brecknell engaged in sexual activity with a girl of 14 when he was on bail for sexual offences against the first complainant.

Daniel White, prosecuting, said the first complainant was still at school at the time of the rape and the defendant knew that.

He said: “The defendant said (in a text message), ‘you might as well call me a rapist – I feel like I raped you. You said ‘no’ and I carried on’.”

Abigail Nixon, defending, said: “It’s a brave step, in my respectful submission, for an 18-year-old to accept at the first opportunity before a court that he is guilty of rape.”

She referred to his emotional immaturity and his difficult childhood ‘with no real male role model’ while he was growing up.

Miss Nixon said he had ADHD, had been diagnosed with dyslexia, had experienced a lonely childhood and had himself self-harmed.

She also mentioned his young age (he was 17 at the time of the rape) and that the disparity between his age and that of the complainants was relatively small.

The judge in his sentencing made reference to victim personal statements.

The judge said of the second complainant: “She described feeling violated and that this had taken away her innocence.”

Judge Cole took as mitigation the defendant’s emotional immaturity and his youth.

“I take into account the difficulties you have had in your early life but none of that excuses these serious sexual offences” he said.

Credit was given for the defendant’s early guilty pleas. Brecknell, like one of the complainants, had also self-harmed.

On the first indictment the judge sentenced Brecknell to 40 months for the rape, reducing the sentence by one third to reflect his guilty plea and sentenced him to 12 months concurrent for sexual activity with the same victim.

For the sexual offices against the other complainant (the second indictment) he sentenced him to 32 months which will be served consecutively to the previous prison sentence taking the total to 72 months.

The judge also made a sexual harm prevention order which prevents Brecknell having contact with any female under the age of 16 save that which is inevitable in the course of daily life.

He must also sign the sex offender’s register and is restricted from working with children.

Former soldier had 9,000 indecent images of children on his laptop

dh

1000’s of images of child sexual abuse were found on a laptop of a former soldier from Scunthorpe 10 months after he was convicted of a similar offence just one year ago

Daniel Howard, 63, of Edgemere, admitted making indecent images of children using his Acer laptop which was discovered under a duvet in his bedroom when police attended on January 27 this year.

He had been convicted in March last year of eight offences of making indecent images of children and another of possessing them between October 1, 2010 and April 5 2014.

In March last year he received a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years and was given a 10-year sex offender prevention order.

At Grimsby Crown Court he admitted three offences of making indecent images and a breach of the sex offender prevention order by using a laptop to access child pornography.

Sentencing Howard to 20 months in prison, Judge Paul Watson QC said it was a “blatant and intentional breach of the suspended sentence.”

He said the prison sentence would have a “disastrous effect on his life” as he would be homeless when he is released.

Prosecuting Craig Lowe said more than 9,000 indecent images of children were found on the laptop when police checked his internet use.

He said police discovered software that he had tried to use to shred the pornographic files of children as young as 18 months old.

For Howard, Gordon Stables said his client had not begun his supervision on a sex offender treatment programme when police officers called at his address in January.

He said: “It is something that has not been addressed yet.”

He said he will lose his home and all his belongings because he cannot afford to store them while he is in prison and will only have the clothes he stood in when he is released.

April 2015

Scunthorpe man escapes prison over indecent images of children

POLICE found thousands of pictures of child abuse after raiding a former soldier’s home and searching his computer equipment, a court heard.

Daniel Howard, 61, of Edgemere, Scunthorpe, admitted eight offences of making indecent images of children and another of possessing them between October 1, 2010 and April 5 last year.

Tom Ledden, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that police investigated after a woman found many indecent images on a digital photo frame that had been used by Howard.

Police “raided” his home and seized two laptops and two computer towers. They found 3,280 indecent images of children.

Two bags of video cassettes were also found and there were 60 disks in a wallet under a sofa.

One had 456 images on it set to music and two other similar ones had 1,077 and 77 pictures.

Howard told police he made the collections out of boredom and claimed he was not attracted to children.

Craig Lowe, mitigating, said Howard admitted the other disks that were not analysed by police contained similar images.

He had not tried to blame others and had no previous convictions.

“He has expressed remorse for what he has done,” said Mr Lowe. “He is ashamed and embarrassed by his actions.”

Howard had served in the army, including in Ireland in 1972, where he was based in Londonderry during the Troubles and, during his four months of active service, three people he knew were shot and killed.

“He catalogued indecent images of children as a hobby,” said Mr Lowe. “He has now moved on.”

Unemployed Howard was given a one-year suspended prison sentence, a two-year supervision order, including a sex offender treatment programme, and a 10-year sexual offences prevention order.

He was told to register as a sex offender for 10 years and must pay £425 costs.

Man sentenced for filming boy in shower at Royal Welsh

jac

A registered sex offender who used his mobile phone to film a boy in a campsite shower has been sentenced.

Jac Grmusa from Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taff, pleaded guilty to 11 offences, including voyeurism and sexual grooming.

Merthyr Crown Court heard he filmed a boy who was attending the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells in July.

Grmusa was sentenced to four years and eight months in a young offenders institution.

The court heard the boy reported the incident to the police and Grmusa was arrested.

His phone was examined and Grmusa was found to have used a gay dating app to contact a 14-year-old boy.

In grooming the child, Grmusa had met the boy three times.

Grmusa had used other apps to contact another boy who he had sex with. He also distributed images of young boys.

Dark web user had abuse images of two month baby

A retired car salesman was found with hundreds of child abuse images which he had downloaded after becoming mired in the dark web.

Max Gardner used a dark web browser to seek out images using search terms which included Lolita and Pre-teen but left an online trail that led police to his home near Newton Abbot.

Some of the children in the images were babies who were only a few months old and there were 18 movies showing acts which amounted to child rape.

His arrest forced him to give up his job as a fleet sales manager and retire and he is now undertaking counselling and an online course to combat his interest in indecent images.

Gardner, aged 66, of the Wood Estate, Bishopsteignton, admitted three counts of making indecent images and was jailed for 16 months, suspended for two years by Recorder Mr Philip Mott, QC, at Exeter Crown Court.

He was ordered to receive one to one sex offender treatment with the probation service and made subject of a sexual harm prevention order which will allow police to monitor his internet use for ten years.

The judge told him:”The feature which strikes one about this case is the extremely young age of some of the children in the images. One is said to show a baby who was only two or three months old. Another shows a child of six to 18 months being penetrated.

“The extreme youth of the children is an aggravating feature, although I accept these images were a minority of the total.

“You got yourself mired into this so much you were seeking images from the dark web. You are 66, have no previous convictions and have shown genuine remorse and taken steps to obtain help.”

Mr Richardo Childs, prosecuting, said police searched Gardner’s home in June after receiving information about his online activity and seized a number of computers

He said there were a total of 62 images and 18 movies at the most serious category A and 871 images or movies in the lower categories B and C. There was also evidence of him using search terms such as Lolita and pre-teen.

Mr Childs said:”He fully admitted what having the images and using the dark web. He said he regularly destroyed and replaced his computers.

“He said he had no excuse and has sought rehabilitation with a charity that specialises in such offences.”

Mr Barry White, defending, said Gardner lost his job as a fleet sales manager as a result of these allegations.

Paedophile found guilty of raping young girls

reg

A MAN convicted of raping and committing other sexual assaults on two schoolgirls while working as a farm labourer in the 1970s is facing, “a substantial sentence”.

The warning was given to now 66-year-old John Regan before he was led to the cells for the first time at Durham Crown Court following the return of unanimous jury verdicts on all 11 charges he was facing.

He denied four counts of rape, four of indecent assault and three of indecency with a child, all relating to girls aged between 10 and 14, committed in the early to mid-70s.

But, after more than three hours and 20 minutes’ deliberation, the jury foreman delivered the damning guilty verdicts on the sixth day of the trial.

Judge Simon Hickey remanded Regan, of High Etherley, Bishop Auckland, in custody, pending sentence early in the New Year.

But, he told the defendant: “You have been found guilty by unanimous verdicts.

“The two complainants, who have borne this abuse for so long, gave clear evidence and the jury have found you guilty on it.

“You’re now remanded in custody, but it will be a substantial sentence.”

Requesting preparation of a background report by the Probation Service on Regan, who is of previous good character, Judge Hickey said he wanted the author to specifically assess the perceived “dangerousness” of the defendant.

“I want to assess whether he poses a risk to other people, albeit these offences were committed many years ago.”

The judge also asked prosecuting barrister Richard Bennett and defence counsel Scott Smith for written submissions as to where the offending falls within the sentencing guidelines.

“It’s not an easy sentencing exercise and not something to be taken lightly.

“It’s something I’m going to have to consider at great length before deciding what to do.”

The verdicts were greeted with an emotional response in the public gallery by members of the Regan family who have supported him and been present throughout the trial.

Eleven character testimonials and references were presented to the court in person or read to the hearing, by family members, friends and other acquaintances, all speaking highly of someone they considered a trusted family man.

Some were from appreciative parents of youngsters who attended a gym club he ran for about 18 years.

Regan, who will now be subject to registration as a sex offender, will be sentenced on Wednesday January 4.

A paedophile has been found guilty of sexually abusing young girls.

Martin Breeze of Brotton, Redcar & Cleveland had denied all the charges against him at Teesside crown court, which forced the victims to relive the abuse as they gave evidence against him.

The court heard that one victim was aged just 8-years-old when Breeze first sexually abused her.

Although Breeze was found guilty by the jury for abusing two girls, other victims also gave evidence against him in court.

Breeze who worked at Skinningrove steelworks was remanded until the 15th of December when he will be sentenced.

Wrexham man’s life ruined by discovery of indecent child images on his computer

Indecent images of children found on a computer had a devastating effect on a man’s life, a court heard.

Stuart Young denied making them by downloading, and possessing them, saying he knew absolutely nothing about them.

But he was convicted by a jury at Mold Crown Court.

Young, 54, of Brandy Brook, Johnstown, near Wrexham, received a 20 week prison sentence, suspended for a year.

He was placed on rehabilitation and placed on the sex offenders register for seven years. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also made to curb his future internet activities.

Judge Niclas Parry told him yesterday: “It remains a completely unanswered question as to what possessed you, what aberration overcame you, a man of previous good character, an industrious man, to make and possess those images?”

But the fact remained that the jury had convicted him of making images including category B images of children.

Judge Parry said children suffered trauma, fear and humiliation well into adulthood as a result of what happened to them.

Man collapses in court as he is found GUILTY of eight rapes against three victims including nine-year-old girl

m

THE brother of selfie queen Karen Danczuk collapsed in the dock as he was convicted of eight rapes against three different victims

Michael Burke, 38, slumped in the dock at Manchester Crown Court after a jury found him guilty of a string of sex attacks over an 18 year period between 1992 and 2010.

Burke is the older brother of TV personality and former Labour councillor Karen who is famous for her revealing “selfies” and who is now separated from her MP husband Simon Danczuk.

The jury heard how Burke was accused of 15 rapes, one attempted rape and one indecent assault against three females over an 18-year period starting from the early 1990s when he was a teenager.

Prosecutor Peter Wright QC told a jury at Manchester crown court that the first two victims were “pre teens” when they were subjected to numerous sex attacks by Burke.

The third victim was an older woman who was also raped between 2008 and 2010.

Mr Wright told the jury: “He is a man no doubt with many positive qualities but he has a flaw.

“That flaw is that in respect of each of them, he abused them for his own gratification.”

He added that the first victim was aged between nine and 11 when she was “repeatedly raped” by Burke, who was then aged between 14 and 16.

Mr Wright said that Burke then “turned his attention” toward the second victim when he was 16.

The attacks continued for nearly three years and ended with an indecent assault in the street, the court heard.

He was “controlling and violent” toward the second victim, who was “emotionally immature” at the age of 12 when the abuse began, the court heard.

Mr Wright added: “He exploited that immaturity for his own sexual gratification.

“On occasions she was submissive and pliant and would put up no resistance.

“On occasions she would protest but her protestations would be ignored.

“He plied her with drink and she would become intoxicated and drowsy.

“She felt incapable of complaining.

“She felt ashamed and embarrassed about the sexual abuse she had endured.”

Mr Wright said that the third victim was the same age as Burke and was raped three times over a two year period between 2008 and 2010 during which time Burke “watched a great deal of pornography.”

Mr Wright said of the victims: “They were demeaned and abused and for many years they remained silent.

“They felt powerless in the face of this man’s conduct but each of them have now found the strength to speak up and accuse this man of the abuse they have suffered.”

Burke, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, denied all the charges but was eventually convicted.

He claimed that he was the victim of “a conspiracy ” by the three complainants and added: “I will prove it eventually. These allegations have been wholly made up against me.”

Burke told the jury:”They are trying to bolster their stories, which is why I am sat here now. No one who knows me would recognise that person.”

The defendant had to be helped from the dock by security guards after appearing to nearly collapse as the foreman of the jury returned the verdicts at the end of a three week trial.

Mr Justice Gilbart told him: “You have been convicted of serious offences and a custodial sentence is inevitable.”

Tiverton man guilty of having child abuse images

A father has been found guilty of having images of child abuse on his home made computer after a jury rejected his claim that someone else must have been using it.

Jonathan Edwards blamed visitors to his home in Tiverton but was found guilty after evidence showed he had searched for child images within minutes of playing a Facebook game in the middle of the night.

The computer was password protected but he claimed it was common knowledge among people who came to his home.

The evidence of his 3 am browsing was found by police on his computer which broke down as he was in the middle of looking for images of pre teen girls.

Former garage worker Edwards was also found with images of adults having sex with animals, including horses, on both the computer and a mobile.

Some images were also found on his partner’s phone, which she had only had for a couple of weeks and which he was the only other person to use.

Edwards was a keen player of a Facebook game called Cartown, in which players customise virtual vehicles, and some of the child images were found in computer folders where he had saved his creations.

The father-of-three was caught with images showing boys and girls as young as seven after police raided his home and seized the equipment.

He had built the tower system with a friend but it had seized up a week before the raid, preserving his illegal activity which was exposed when police experts analysed the hard drive and search history.

There were around 50 child abuse images and 30 adult bestiality images.

Edwards, aged 33, of Newport Street, Tiverton, denied five counts of making or possessing indecent images of children and two of possessing extreme pornography which shows bestiality.

He was found guilty of all offences by the jury at Exeter Crown Court where Recorder Mr James Watson adjourned sentence and ordered a probation pre sentence report.

He granted Edwards bail until his sentence, which is likely to be in the New Year.

Edwards told the court he knew nothing about the images and believed they had been downloaded by one of several visitors, including a man in his 60s who had an interest in pornography.

Pervert jailed for sexual abuse of young girl

dean

A teen who abused a young girl after pretending to be a zombie and a murderer has been jailed, and his career as a soldier “ruined”.

Dean Whittaker, 19, of West Lutton near Malton, had been sentenced of seven charges of sexual assault, inciting a child to commit a sexual act and causing a child to engage in sexual activity and was sentenced yesterday at York Crown Court.

He would have been sentenced sooner had he not injured his hand by punching a wall in frustration as he was taken to the court cells following his convictions.

He also played “schools” with her, where he had the role of headteacher and she was a pupil and had to come to him in a private room.

The child, to whom he is not related, told the jury he bribed her with promises of computer game software for her mobile phone to take part in the sexual activities, and told her not to tell anyone because he would go to prison if she did.

The offences took place between August 2013 and February 2015.

The girl kept silent until February 2015, when she told her grandmother.

“You took advantage of the opportunities you engineered. There was grooming in this case by developing games that allowed you one to one access with her in privacy.”

He added: “I appreciate your career will no longer be available to you.”

Judge Stubbs also said that the girl has suffered from nightmares as a result of the incidents.

He sentenced Whittaker to three years in a young offenders’ institution. He imposed a sexual harm prevention order, which prohibits Whittaker from contacting the victim, and has a number of other conditions.

A St Leonards man was jailed for 11 years after being found guilty of sexually abusing a girl over a 10-year period

Christopher Cushman was convicted of 20 counts of sexual abuse before being sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on November 18.

The 64-year-old man, who lived in Ferry Road, Rye, at the time of the offences, but has since moved to Marina in St Leonards, stood trial in October and found guilty of the string of offences which took place between 2005 and 2015 with a girl known to him.

Cushman subjected the victim to many years of sexual abuse. Thankfully she gained the courage to report his behaviour and we able to assist her to bring him to justice.

Cushman was convicted of:

  • Two counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration

  • Five counts of assault by penetration

  • Eight counts of sexual assault

  • Two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent

  • Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Sexual assault of a child under 13

  • Causing a child to watch a sexual act.

The victim, now a woman in her 20s, reported what had happened to her in 2014.

Mum of schoolgirl tells how rapist stole 12-year-old’s innocence

del1

A distraught mum told of her family’s “two-year hell” after discovering her 12-year-old daughter had been raped .

Del Harris, now 21, stole the schoolgirl’s virginity in a terrifying sexual assault after grooming her on Facebook .

Two years on from the attack, his victim is still living a nightmare her desperate mother fears she will never recover from.

Harris was caged for four years and four months at the High Court in Glasgow last week after admitting to raping a minor and sexually assaulting another underage girl at his home in the Village, East Kilbride.

Following his conviction, one of his victims has bravely spoken out about her ordeal in a bid to help other abuse victims suffering in silence come forward.

del3

The police mugshot of child rapist Del Harris

The girl, now 14, told how she had to drop out of school after suffering horrendous bullying, receiving online threats and being regularly beaten up because no one believed her.

Her mum said: “She’s been through hell. In the two years since it happened she’s been bullied, she’s been beaten up, even so-called friends thought it would be funny to put her name and address on sex sites – it’s been horrendous.

“She took two years of abuse and had to drop out of school. She tried going back to mainstream school but just couldn’t cope.

“Kids can be so cruel. She was 12 – she had no reason to lie about this.”

The girl, who cannot legally be named, had only just started second year when she was targeted by Harris.

After chatting to him on Facebook she arranged to meet him at his house and told her mum she was staying with a friend that night.

Manipulative Harris even spoke to her mum on the phone pretending to be the girl’s dad.

“He had told her that he was 15 at the time and knew her older brother so she thought it was fine,” she said.

“The night it happened she phoned asking if she could stay with a friend. I spoke to him on the phone thinking it was the girl’s dad so he must have known she was underage. He was 19 at the time.

“This was the first boy she was interested in and he’s groomed her and manipulated her…he made her feel special.”

Harris was arrested immediately after the assault on August 10, 2014, after the girl broke down and told her mum what had happened the following morning.

She said: “They weren’t talking long on Facebook before it happened, I think it was only two days. He arranged to meet her and she had no idea what was going to happen.

“But hats off to her, she did come and tell me what had happened the next morning and we went straight to the police station.

“She told me she kept saying to him ‘no’, but he just wouldn’t listen and pinned her down.

“I was shocked…horrified…numb for months; even now I’m still trying to process it. I just need to be strong for her and the rest of the family.”

When word of her daughter’s rape got out, her mum said her ‘confident, happy-go-lucky’ daughter became a shadow of her former self.

“She just couldn’t cope,” she said.

“She went from being happy-go-lucky to being really depressed and isolated. She doesn’t socialise at all now and has lost all her ‘friends’ because of it.

“She’s lost her education, she’s lost her confidence, she doesn’t’t like being in crowded places now, she gets really anxious.

“She went through being terrified of the dark and had to sleep with the light on because she was having constant nightmares.

“I think she could have done something really silly because she was so depressed. She would say: ‘I don’t want to be here’ and ‘I can’t cope anymore’.

“She has no interest in anything now. She just wants to stay at home where she feels safe. I worry for her future and future relationships – this will just make everything a lot harder for her.

“People know she’s vulnerable and she has been targeted and used because of that. She’s at the point where she can’t trust anybody.

“As a mum, it’s been horrible, because you don’t know how to make it better.

“There’s nothing you can say or do to take the pain away. It’s never going to get back to how it was, she’ll never get her childhood back. He stole her innocence.”

One silver lining in this horrific ordeal is that Harris never put his victims through a harrowing trial.

Although happy that her daughter was spared this after all the pain and hurt she’d already been through, her mum spoke of her “utter disgust” at the length of his sentence, but praised her daughter for finding the courage to face her attacker in court.

She said: “I’m disgusted at the sentence because, for me, as a parent, and for my daughter as well, we feel that’s how a lot of these girls don’t come forward when these guys are getting away with doing a few years in jail when it’s the victims whose whole lives are wrecked.

“I think a lot of girls are scared to tell anyone and are suffering in silence.

“It’s hard as an adult going through that, but for a child I can only imagine it’s 10 times worse – they lose everything.

“We’re two years down the line and this is only her now beginning to talk about how she’s feeling.

“I’m really proud of her for facing him, she wanted to be there. I think it gave her a bit of closure.

“He never had any remorse, smirking as he was taken down wearing a hoody top saying ‘Smile more’.

“It was a good outcome for him but it’s not for the victims. They get the life sentence.

“We were happy he got a custodial sentence but we were expecting six years. The sentencing is completely wrong for these cases, they need to review it for serious crimes like that.

“He’s a sexual predator, I do believe he’ll come out and do it again. A leopard doesn’t change its spots.”

Looking to the future, her daughter has aspirations of a career in social work and hopes to use her experience to help other victims.

And her proud mum had nothing but praise for her brave decision to speak out, saying: “What she has done by coming forward and seeing it through to the end has protected other girls from becoming a victim.

“I’m really proud of her for not being ashamed to say ‘this happened to me’. A lot of people are made to believe it’s their fault but he was an adult and she was a child.

“She’s determined to make sure she comes out of this a survivor but she is going to have a hard time and this will follow her through her whole life.

“He’s took my wee girl, he’s stolen my wee girl’s innocence and she’s going to suffer the rest of her life, but she’s going to have a good life because we’ll make sure of it.”

Rotherham pervert who abused seven teens is jailed for nine years

Corie Adams, 18, who has admitted "hideous" sex crimes against seven teenage girls in Rotherham

A PERVERT who carried out a string of “prolific and incredibly shocking” sex crimes in Rotherham has been jailed for nine years.

Corie Adams, 18, admitted abusing seven teenage girls between January 2015 and early 2016.

Police were alerted after a concerned member of the public reported Adams for possible involvement in child sex abuse.

Speaking after the sentence, Detective Inspector John Fitzgibbons said his sentence reflected the “gravity of his crimes”.

Mr Fitzgibbons said: “Adams has been remanded since earlier this year because of the risk he posed to young people in Rotherham and the sentence passed down to him today reflects the gravity of his crimes.

“He is now behind bars for a lengthy period of time.

“I hope this allows his victims, who have shown incredible bravery throughout our investigation, an opportunity to begin to heal from this horrific abuse with the support of specialist agencies.”

Adams, from Maltby, Rotherham, pleaded guilty to:

  • 11 child sexual offences

  • Two counts of sexual activity with a child

  • Three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Four counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity

  • Two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act

– relating to two 13-year-old and two 14-year-old girls from Rotherham.

He also admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child, one count of rape and one count of grooming linked to three girls aged between 12 and 14.

Insp Fitzgibbons said: “Adams’ sexual offending is prolific and incredibly shocking – we were able to identify a number of his victims but there may well be more young girls out there yet to come forward.

“While he has admitted his part in the sexual abuse of many young girls in Rotherham, this does not lessen the awful impact his hideous crimes have had on their lives.

“He preyed on the girls’ vulnerability and young age, exploiting them to engage in sexual activity for his own satisfaction. This is a truly despicable crime and I am pleased he is behind bars where he can cause no further harm to young girls in our town.”

Adams was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Black Country pervert who tried to lure schoolgirls into his BMW is locked up

shawn

A pervert who tried to lure schoolgirls into the back of his BMW has been jailed for four and half years.

Shawn Jones had been found guilty of four charges of attempted abduction with intent to commit a sexual offence by a jury.

The 45-year-old from Norwood Road, Brierley Hill, had targeted two girls on two separate occasions while they were carrying out their paper rounds and then struck again after he had been arrested and bailed.

On January 15, 2015, Jones told a 14-year-old girl in the Kates Hill area she was beautiful before offering to drive her around.

He made a similar offer when he pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl in Cradley, on April 14 that year.

But being arrested did not deter Jones who then approached two girls aged 13 and 14 as they sat in the back of a car outside of KFC in Merry Hill.

As he was sentenced yesterday, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard the offences had had a serious impact on all four victims.

Prosecutor Glyn Samuel said both the girls involved in the KFC incident had since required counselling and felt anxious leaving the house with one of them describing themselves as a ‘prisoner’ in their own home.

Mr Samuel said the other two victims also felt nervous about going out.

Judge John Wait told Jones he would serve at least half of the four and a half year sentence in prison and the rest on licence.

He will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for an indefinite period and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Judge Wait said: “This was a course of conduct committed over a period of six months. You took the opportunities when you incited girls who were alone.

“The first two were at the time confident hardworking young girls doing a paper round.

“You approached each of them and made grossly inappropriate and highly sexualised comments causing very great distress and seeking to persuade them into your car.”

The judge said he had taken into account good character references for Jones and the fact he did not get out of his car.

87-year-old church stalwart jailed for sex offences

An 87-year-old church stalwart will spend Christmas behind bars after being locked up for sex offences dating back to the mid-1970s.

Former chartered surveyor Peter Scott pleaded guilty at Worcester Crown Court to three counts of indecent assault on a girl who was then a teenager.

Scott, of Stone Lane, Colwall, near Malvern, changed his plea to guilty to the three charges on the day of a trial, Simon Burns, prosecuting, told a sentencing hearing.

He will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years, until the age of 97.

Mr Burns said the victim, now in her 50s and cannot be named for legal reasons, was relieved to know he had accepted responsibility without a trial.

“She has lived with this for a considerable number of years,” he said.

The court heard that a probation report indicated Scott, a widower, would not be prepared to work with any rehabilitation orders because he had not accepted any wrongdoing despite his guilty plea.

Lisa Hancox, defending, said it would be “a real shame” if a man of his age and and previous good character was sent to prison because there was no other option.

“A prison sentence will not change his attitude,” she said.

“There could be work done with him to realise the harm he has caused.”

She said Scott was a keen member of a church community and members of his church had written references and accompanied him to court.

He had been helping out at the church playgroup but had now stopped this activity and some neighbours had ceased contact.

“It is a huge punishment for him,” she said.

Scott, she said, was hard of hearing and has heart trouble and the prospect of going to prison was “terrifying” for him.

Judge Nicholas Cartwright said there was no possibility of Scott complying with an order attached to a community sentence. The offending would have to be marked by an immediate spell in jail, he said.

Scott was given a total sentence of eight months. He will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order banning unsupervised contact or communication with girls under 16 and restricting his use of computers for ten years.

Pervert who secretly watched schoolgirl, also caught with indecent pictures of children

A MUSSELBURGH man who secretly watched a young teenager while she was out in public has been placed on the sex offenders’ register, after he was also caught with indecent pictures of children.

Jason Hain, of Eskside West, was said to have engaged in a course of conduct that caused the 13-year-old schoolgirl fear and alarm, after he repeatedly emailed her despite being asked not to.

Hain, 46, also left clothing out under a bridge in the town for the girl to collect and covertly watched her as she did so.

He had previously admitted two amended charges when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in July and sentence had been deferred for reports.

Further charges, including sending the girl sexualised texts and a card containing a sexual message, were dropped by the Crown.

Hain’s not guilty pleas to two further online child abuse charges were also accepted by the Crown during last Tuesday’s hearing.

Sheriff Michael O’Grady placed Hain on a three-year offender supervision order, while the sheriff also informed Hain he would be placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same period of time.

Hain admitted to causing the girl fear and alarm by repeatedly emailing her, watching her covertly and leaving clothing out under a bridge for her to collect at his home address and elsewhere in the town between June 9 and 16 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to permitting indecent images of children to be taken at his home address between December 29, 2010, and July 25 last year.
