Pervert is jailed over child sexual abuse pictures

A 59-YEAR-OLD former painter and decorator who was found with almost 2000 child sexual abuse images on his computer has been jailed for 10 months.

David Francis Shaw, of Manor Orchards in Knaresborough was sentenced for 17 offences of making indecent images of children, and five of possessing extreme images.

York Crown Court heard Shaw, a self employed painter and decorator who was forced by bad health to give up work, has already been sentenced for similar offences twice since 2009.

Police raided his home on April 22 this year and seized his computer. Specialist software later recovered more than 1900 indecent images in temporary internet files, including more than 400 in the most serious classifications and some accessed just a day before the raid.

Prosecutor Nick Adlington said it was clear Shaw had used his computer to surf the internet looking for the images, and had used specific search terms to find the pictures.

Defending Shaw, Helen Taylor said her client was filled with remorse for his actions.

She added Shaw was “not a terribly well man” whose breathing problems made it difficult for him to walk or speak, and was terrified of prison.

His previous convictions made him “unemployable” and he had been left at home isolated and depressed.

Mrs Taylor added: “He has been extremely frank with the probation service that he does have some attractions that are not allowed.”

Sentencing, Judge Guy Kearl QC said the pictures found on Shaw’s computer included many of young girls, and the extreme images depicted people with animals.

He added: “I accept the images were not for distribution but were for personal use, but that does not assist the people exploited to make those images.”

Judge Kearl also placed Shaw on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years, and made him the subject of an unlimited sexual offences prevention order which will stop him accessing the internet without special software to let police monitor his browsing history.

Grandfather, 67, jailed for vile haul of child abuse images found at his former home in Cleethorpes

A GRANDFATHER has been jailed after police discovered thousands of vile images of child abuse images at his former home in Cleethorpes.

Norman Grainger, 67, now of Sheldon Road, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to six counts of possessing indecent images of children and was jailed for 14 months at Grimsby Crown Court on November 19.

The court heard Grainger held 6,345 images and videos on disks and hard drives, which included 53 at the most extreme level five on the rating system used to categorise the severity of images of child sex abuse, and many of which showed the torture of young children.

Police raided Grainger’s former Humber Street home in July 2012 after tracing his IP address and arrested him, but during the interview he maintained a ‘no comment’ response and later fled to Sheffield.

Upon his arrest in South Yorkshire, he told officers he “hadn’t exactly been hiding” from them.

The court heard Grainger had stumbled upon the content when browsing online and became “interested and then obsessed” with what he found, spending five years using the images for sexual gratification.

Among the content found by police were images of young girls being gagged and abused, and the torture of a five-year-old.

Defending, Nigel Lumley said Grainger, who served time in prison in the 1970s, had suffered a total breakdown in his relationship with his family as a result of the offences and was “full of shame”.

“He did not know throughout his life that he had any propensity towards this sort of thing,” he said.

“He does not seek to downplay his involvement at all, he has now in his later life fallen down to this level and is now without his family and friends.”

Judge David Tremberg said this was a “very bad example” of such a case and said Grainger had built up a “veritable library of thousands and thousands of images”.

“The emotional and physical cost to the victims is incalculable and all you cared about was your own perverted sexual gratification,” the judge told him.

“People who behave like that give tacit encouragement for those who post these images to commit further abuse.

“You share responsibility for the suffering of those children and it is imperative that courts deal severely with such behaviour. By moving to Sheffield you sought to evade justice after you became interested then obsessed with these vile images of children.”

An unmoved Grainger looked on as Judge Tremberg handed down a 14-month prison sentence, to be cut by half on licence.

Grainger must also register as a sex offender for the next ten years and is prohibited from using any device capable of accessing the internet unless he makes his internet history, which he will not be allowed to delete, available to police on request.

Middlesbrough teenager helps trap web child sex pervert

A teenage girl blogger unmasked a mystery man who had been sexually grooming her for two years.

The 15-year-old Middlesbrough youngster finally identified dad of two Derek Ingles, 33, from messages he sent to the blog that she wrote on an Internet social site.

She told police that Ingles was the pervert who had been targeting her since she was 13 asking her to post indecent photographs.

He wept in the dock at Teesside Crown Court yesterday when a judge told him that he was facing jail for the torment he had put her through.

But the prison sentence was suspended with action to treat him as a sex offender on a tough programme.

Prosecutor David Crook said that the girl demonstrated her teenage angst in her writings on her blog which had references to suicide and included inappropriate sexual material.

She had an eating difficulty and she self-harmed from depression.

Mr Crook added: “It was quite clear that she was a troubled, vulnerable young girl.

“Sometime in September 2011 she received a note on her blog from an unknown user who was the defendant, saying ‘I feel really close to you and I don’t know how’”.

She asked who he was and he replied “I’m a bit older than you but I think I’m in love. I won’t say who I am because if it comes out it will kick off.”

There were further messages between September and December then on Christmas Day 2011 he said “I wish you were 16 so I could whisk you away from all your worries.”

In March last year he asked her to send him indecent photographs and a video of herself.

Mr Crook said that the girl rejected all his approaches, but he added: “She was curious and she began to discuss the exchange with her sister and a friend.

“She recognised a name he used and she told her sisters who told her mother.

Penny Bottomley, defending, said Ingles had been living with his mother since his arrest and he was sorry for the effect on the victim, her family and his own wife and children.

Judge Michael Taylor told him: “There are obvious consequences for the victim of these offences.

“As far as you are concerned it brought an end to your family life. The sentencing guidelines suggest that I send you to prison.

“If I were to send you to prison today the term would be measured in months and you would get no assistance whatsoever for this sort of activity.”

Ingles, of Aiden Court, Middlesbrough, was sentenced to nine months’ jail suspended for two years with supervision and ordered to attend the Northumbria sex offenders’ programme and a citizenship programme, to register as sex offender for 10 years, and given a sexual offences prevention order for five years banning contact with girls under 16 and allowing police to have access to his internet devices to check on their use.

He pleaded guilty to causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Jail for Derby paedophile whose offences spanned five decades

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

A PAEDOPHILE who has been committing sexual offences going back to the 1970s has been jailed for having 2,500 indecent photographs of children as young as five.

James Clark was being monitored by Derbyshire police’s dangerous persons management unit when officers found the images on his computers – on two occasions this summer.

The 71-year-old, of Bridge Street, Derby, has convictions between the 1970s and 1990s for indecent assault on children and, in the last decade, for exposure and possessing indecent photographs.

Jailing Clark for two years and two months, Recorder Nicholas Syfret QC said: “You’re 71 years old and your life is inevitably drawing to its conclusion.

“It’s up to you whether you spend the remainder of your life at liberty or in prison but, certainly, as long as you commit offences of this nature, it leaves courts with no option but to send you to prison.

“You have shown no sign that you either have the desire or the capacity to change your behaviour.”

Derby Crown Court heard that, in 2008, Clark was banned from using a computer after he was convicted of possessing indecent images of children.

This order was varied last year to allow him access to the internet – but banned him from having software which deleted its history.

But, when officers checked his computer in the summer, they discovered he had installed programmes which did exactly that, prosecutor Sarah Slater told the court.

She said a total of 1,355 images were discovered on a laptop seized on the first visit made to Clark this year.

The second time, officers seized another computer which had 1,171 images.

The majority of them were category one – the lowest level of indecency – but they ranged to category four.

Five is the most serious level.

Clark admitted 10 counts of possessing indecent images and also breaching a sexual offences prevention order.

Avik Mukherjee, for Clark, said: “He says he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life in prison.

“They are, at the moment, just words – only time will tell.

“If he hasn’t learnt his lesson after this sentence, then one wonders if he is going to.”

Clark was given a new sexual offences prevention order, indefinitely, and he must sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Man jailed after wife found child abuse images/movies

A MAN has been jailed for child abuse images offences after his wife discovered the perverted images on a disc in his desk and informed the police.

Alaric Fitch, of Melbourn Road, Royston, admitted 15 charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child and one offence of possessing 349 indecent images of children.

The 44-year-old was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment and will be on licence for three years upon his release.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard on Friday how Fitch’s wife alerted police after she found two CDs in his desk while she looked for mortgage documents in the lead up to the couple’s divorce proceedings.

The CDs were in an envelope labelled with words describing a sex act involving girls.

Samantha Leigh, prosecuting, said officers went to the couple’s former home in Saffron Walden and seized computer equipment.

She said Fitch was in possession of more than 300 indecent images of children. The images included two at level five, the most serious on the police’s five-point scale of obscenity, and 183 at level four.

Christine Laing, mitigating, said Fitch became clinically depressed after his marriage started to break down in 2001. She said he began to look at child pornography images and put them on CD-roms.

“He cannot explain it and doesn’t understand why he did it,” said Miss Laing. “He knows his depression played a part in it and drink played a part in it.”

Judge Rodger Hayward Smith QC told Fitch one of the images found in his possession was “particularly abhorrent.”

He said: “I’m well aware this case is a tragedy for you and your family. But every time a pornographic photo of a child is taken, that child is seriously abused, sexually, physically and emotionally.

“People such as yourself who download these images enable the market in such abuse to flourish. That is why these offences are so serious.

“In my judgement they are so serious only a sentence of immediate imprisonment is appropriate.”

Burnley sex-offender gets suspended sentence

A CONVICTED sex offender, who assaulted a frightened teenage girl at a house in Burnley, has won his freedom.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Anthony Hart, 22, was subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order at the time, but had not flouted it as the victim was not under 16.

He left the girl scared and shocked by his actions.

The defendant pushed the girl on her back as she sat on the floor, squeezed her wrists tightly, and began to kiss her neck.

She was scared, and was crying, and told him to stop.

Prosecutor Austin Welch told the hearing: “He asked if she had ever slept with a man, and indicated he would like to sleep with her.”

Hart then sat next to the victim on the settee and again he tried to assault her.

She moved away, but he grabbed her.

The defendant was later arrested, and interviewed, and made no comment to all questions. Hart, recently of Spencer Street, Burnley, had admitted sexual assault on January 19.

Hart, who had spent almost seven months, the equivalent of a 14-month sentence, on remand in custody, was sentenced to 18 months in jail, suspended for two years, with two years’ supervision.

The hearing was told Hart had a record going back to 2005, when he was a juvenile.

In October 2009, he had been convicted of detaining a child without lawful authority after a school-girl was found hiding in his bedroom.

In April 2011, he admitted allegations of sexual activity with a female under 16.

James Heyworth, for Hart, said, in all cases, he had been living alone and had befriended, or been befriended, by people younger than him.

He seemed more at home in the company of younger people, in their mid-teens.

The barrister said: “His social functioning is perhaps not what would be expected of a 22-year-old.”

Mr Heyworth said the defendant had spent almost seven months on remand.

He added: “He has a number of mental health symptoms which have been exacerbated by the custodial environment.”

PENSIONER jailed for 19 years after internet child abuse images led him to filming his own sex attacks on five young girls

bit

A PENSIONER has been jailed for 19 years after internet child abuse images led him to filming his own sex attacks on five young girls.

Retired lorry driver John Bidmead was also found with more than a million child abuse images on his computer and his case is the worst of its sort ever investigated by police in the South West.

His ten-year-long trail of sexual assaults only came to light when Interpol tipped off police about him downloading extreme child pornography and detectives raided his home in Cullompton.

They caught him red-handed as he watched a child abuse movie which was being streamed via his computer onto a 50 inch television.

Officers were horrified to find not only the largest library of indecent images they had ever seen but a computer file containing 124 home made movies showing him raping and abusing a child.

The seized a number of computers and discovered 1,500 more files containing images made by him of four more girls, some showing him touching them.

He paid some of the victims to pose for photographs and bribed others with sweets or treats while he was baby sitting.

There were so many images and movies that police were not able to count them all. They gave up at 600,000 but estimate there are well over a million in all.

The Judge described the number of images and movies as staggering and praised the police team who had the ‘debilitating’ task of sifting through them and creating a schedule of what they showed.

The grandfather remained silent with his head bowed as he was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court but the Judge was told he is so ashamed of what he did that he wanted to die in prison.

He sent the Judge a letter which he said he was unable to sign because he was so ashamed of the disgrace he had brought to his family that he could not bear to write his own name.

Bidmead, 65, of Cullompton, Devon, admitted four rapes, six indecent or sexual assaults, and 19 counts of taking or making indecent photographs.

He was only charged with the images which police were able to count before they gave up. These were made up as follows. He had:

576,288 images and 8,071 movies showing naked children.

6,007 images and 1,289 movies showing children engaged in less serious sexual activity.

28,888 images and 1,235 movies showing adults having sex with children.

19,297 images and 3,480 movies showing child rape.

1,450 images and 167 movies showing sadism, torture or bestiality.

He was jailed for 19 years by Judge Phillip Wassall, who told him: ”The magnitude of the number of images is quite staggering. The schedule makes quite appalling reading.

“You had more than a million images of children being abused including significantly high numbers of images of the worst type of abuse.

“That was only a fraction because an analysis of your computer showed images of you raping and abusing a child. It appears your exposure to pornography caused you to look at children differently.

“The images tell their own story and provide the most graphic and appalling evidence of what you had done.”

Mr Richard Crabb, prosecuting, said Bidmead’s home was raided by police after they were tipped off by colleagues in Russia about him downloading extreme images.

He said:”Police visited his property and the first thing they noticed was a 50 inch television monitor showing video images of child abuse which were being downloaded onto his computer.

“A search was carried out and 40 items including computers were seized. Bidmead was arrested and he replied ‘I’m bang to rights’.”

An examination of the material showed a computer folder named ‘visits’ which 124 movies showing him abusing the same girl, who appeared to be aged eight or nine.

She was traced and revealed how she had been groomed into taking part in role playing games in which all forms of sexual activity took place and was filmed.

She made a victim impact statement in which she said:”I now find it difficult to trust people and I feel upset angry and confused.”

When asked how he persuaded the girl to have sex with him he replied:”A child’s innocence, I suppose.”

Mr Crabb said other images or films showed four more girls, all aged eight to 12, who had been photographed naked or touched by Bidmead.

Only three were traced and they told how he persuaded them to pose for what he called ‘photo-shoots’ in which he paid them more if they stripped naked.

Mr Crabb said:”In addition, there was a vast amount of child pornography, much of which still has not been viewed. The best estimate is that the total exceeds a million and is certainly the largest find in this part of the world.”

Mr Sean Brunton, defending, said:”He is ashamed and remorseful and says he expects to die in prison and it would be a fitting punishment for what he has done.

“He says he expects and would welcome a very long sentence which will represent the fact that he has destroyed the lives of several people and in the process destroyed his own life.”

A man from Loughton has been jailed for 15 years for child sex offences.

48 year-old Anthony Miles was found guilty of 13 offences, including rape and sexual assault, on children from Brentwood.

Miles, who was a warehouseman, was charged by Essex Police’s Child Abuse Investigation team after the allegations were report in June 2012.

Detective Superintendent Sam Culf said: “Anthony Miles abused his position of trust whilst living within the family and will now serve a lengthy sentence to reflect on his actions.”

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders register for 18 years.

Lincoln father-of-four sexually assaulted under-age girl – Jailed

A Lincoln father-of-four has been jailed for three years at Lincoln Crown Court after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting an under-age girl.

Christopher Coward, 43, was also disqualified from working with children and will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Coward of Carholme Road, Lincoln had denied four sexual offences on the same girl but was convicted after a week long trial at Lincoln Crown Court on November 22.

The charges included putting his hand under the girl’s trousers, touching the top of her leg and squeezing her breasts. Coward also allowed the girl, who can not be named, to touch him in a sexual manner.

Three of the incidents happened when Coward was not alone with the girl, the court heard.

Coward, who spent time living in both Lincoln and Boston, denied all the charges after the girl came forward and made a complaint.

But passing sentence Judge Michael Heath said the jury had rejected defence suggestions that she made up the allegations with her boyfriend.

Jailing Coward for three years Judge Heath said it was obvious he had “formed a sexual interest” in the girl.

Judge Heath told Coward: “The offences are so serious that I can only justify a custodial sentence.”

Coward had denied three charges of sexual assault on a girl under 13 and a single charge sexual assault.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, mitigating, told the court Coward had no previous convictions.

“He is a single parent who has worked hard to bring up his four children,” Mr Cranmer-Brown told the court.

“There was no evidence on his phone or computer that he had a predisposition for under age girls.”

Convicted killer guilty of sex offences on girl in sick cowgirls ‘game’

A convicted killer is back in jail after being found guilty of sex offences committed more than 30 years ago.

Pensioner Kenneth Mockford, of Church Road, Offham, West Malling, had denied six charges of indecency with a child.

Maidstone Crown Court heard he forced a girl to perform sex acts on him while telling her they were playing “cowboys and cowgirls” when committing the offences.

“She was told that’s what cowgirls did as a matter of routine,” said prosecutor Piers Reed. “But he told her she must not tell her parents or anyone else.

“The story about cowboys and cowgirls was repeated, a story about him making a film with her having a starring role, and she believed it.”

The 70-year-old, known as Ray, was arrested last year. He denied all the allegations.

Mockford, who previously lived in Kingfisher Road, Larkfield, wept when asked in evidence if he had abused the victim. “No, I did not,” he said.

After the unanimous guilty verdicts, the jury heard he was jailed for three-and-a-half years in 1988 for manslaughter and shortening a shotgun barrel.

In July last year, he was given a suspended sentence for possessing a firearm without a certificate.

Judge Martin Joy said under current law Mockford could face a prison sentence of 11 to 17 years for the latest offences, but the maximum he could impose under “old law” was six years.

“It may well be that members of the public would rightly consider that because of the gap left in the legislation there could be serious under-sentencing,” he said.

Simon Wickens, defending, said Mockford had very serious offences on his record, but had no convictions for sex abuse. His health problems included suffering from angina.

Adjourning sentence for reports until January 13, the judge said: “You have been convicted on overwhelming evidence of a course of indecency with a child when she was very young.

“Nowadays, it would be described as oral rape. You were convicted of these completely abhorrent offences. They are unnatural and abhorrent to right-thinking people. You can expect a severe custodial sentence.”

Judge Joy added the victim – now in her mid-30s – was a victim of “a highly manipulative rapist” and assured her she did nothing wrong.

Ex rugby player jailed for child abuse images collection

A former rugby league professional had been jailed after pleading guilty to possessing more than 20,000 indecent images of children.

Philip Eden was jailed for 16 months by a judge who described the amount of horrific illegal images as “enormous”.

Eden, who was a professional for Wakefield Trinity and Castleford during the 1980s and 1990s, had more than 4,000 disturbing images and films at levels four and five, the two most serious categories of offending.

Leeds Crown Court heard the majority of those images featured children under the age of ten being sexually abused. Some were less than a year old.

Eden, 49, of Geary Drive, Alverthorpe, Wakefield, pleaded guilty to 21 charges of possession of indecent photographs of children.

The court heard Eden has worked as a technical housing officer with Wakefield District Housing for the past 23 years.

Eden was arrested after police received intelligence about his offending and executed a search warrant at his home on December 6 last year. Computers were taken from his home and the images were discovered.

Christopher Morton, mitigating, said Eden would lose his job if he was sent to prison. He said Eden carried out the offences while he was suffering from depression following the breakdown of the relationship with his partner.

Judge Sally Cahill, QC, told Eden: “The amount of pornography in relation to children in your possession I view as being enormous.”

After the hearing, Det Con John Higgins, of West Yorkshire Police’s abusive images unit, said: “Philip Eden had a vast collection of images depicting children being abused. West Yorkshire Police will always robustly investigate any individuals who are thought to be in possession of any such material.”

Married Sunderland man abused 13-year-old schoolgirl

A MARRIED engineer sexually abused a trusting schoolgirl after convincing her they had a future together.

Mansour Savari told the 13-year-old he wanted them to get married and have twins during a series of secret text messages.

The 36-year-old dad took the teenager, from South Tyneside, to a pal’s empty flat and engaged in sexual activity with her.

He was arrested at his home after a worried friend of the victim contacted the police about what she knew.

At Newcastle Crown Court yesterday Savari, of Somerset Cottages, Silksworth, Sunderland, was jailed for three years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

He had pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual activity with a child just before his trial before a jury was due to start last month.

Judge Roger Thorn QC told him: “You engaged in the most appalling and inappropriate sexual relationship with a young girl who you persuaded you were in love with and she was in love with you.

“Your victim was only just 13 years of age and by contrast you were 36.

“There had been here a significant period of grooming, promising, in effect a long-term relationship eventually which would be characterised by both marriage and children.

“That, of course, led ultimately to her seduction.”

The court heard Savari had denied the offences outright when he was arrested, meaning the victim faced the prospect of giving evidence in court until he changed his plea to guilty.

Judge Thorn added: “You did, eventually save that young victim of yours having to give evidence.”

Prosecutor Amanda Rippon read examples of the dozens of text messages exchanged between Savari and his victim.

She said: “They talk of having a baby together, the defendant and she have a conversation about what it would be called.

“The defendant says ‘I would love us to have twins’.”

Paul Currer, defending, said: “It is his sincere wish that this young girl and her family recover from the trauma and difficulties they have faced through his offending.”

Justice at last as Leeds rapist is jailed

crispin

A RAPE victim has finally seen justice more than 30 years after she was subjected to sex attacks as an 11-year-old girl.

Trevor Crispin, 52, was jailed for 10 years yesterday for two offences of rape on his victim, and for three indecent assaults on another girl, aged five.

Crispin’s victims had suffered life-long psychological problems as a result of the ordeals he had put them through, Leeds Crown Court heard.

The rape victim reported the attacks to the police 10 years after the event, in the early 1990s, but no charges were brought against Crispin at the time, the court heard.

A year before that complaint was made, Crispin had received a conditional discharge in court over a sex offence against a 14-year-old girl.

Crispin, of Cardigan Road, Leeds, went on to commit offences of gross indecency and indecent assault on another victim, a girl aged nine, and served a three-and-a-half-year sentence.

The court heard Crispin faced charges over his latest offences when the two victims made complaints in 2011 and 2012. He initially denied them but pleaded guilty to two offences of rape and three of indecent assault on the day he was due to go on trial.

Jailing Crispin, Judge Penelope Belcher said: “All of those offences involved you targeting young girls.”

Referring to the attack on the five-year-old victim, the judge said: “Unsurprisingly it has had a lasting, life-long psychological impact upon her.”

The court heard Crispin was a teenager when he carried out the indecent assaults on the five-year-old victim in the Farsley area of Leeds in the late 1970s.

Crispin was in his early twenties when he committed the rape offences against the 11-year-old girl.

The initial report to the police was made around a decade later when she told her husband about what had happened.

Stephen Grattage, mitigating, asked for Crispin to be given credit for his guilty pleas. He said: “It has come after a long period of time and the knowledge that that matter has not been dealt with and the fact that justice has not been done has affected (the victim).”

He added: “The day did come when he accepted his offending towards her.”

Mr Grattage said Crispin was aware of the suffering he had caused his victims and was working to try to address his offending behaviour.

Crispin was ordered to go on the sex offenders’ register for life and was made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order which bans him from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16.

Sunderland man abused schoolgirls because he had low self-esteem, court told

A NISSAN worker sexually abused two teenage girls because he had “low self-esteem”, a court heard.

Andrew Long, 19, intimately touched the girls aged 13 and 14 at Puma Park Tennis Centre in Silksworth last year after he was “flattered” when they showed interest in him.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that Long, who was 18 at the time of the offences, would buy alcohol for the teenagers, who would gather to watch him freerunning – a form of outdoor acrobatics – at the park.

The court was told the sexual activity was consensual.

Katherine Dunn, prosecuting, said Long, of Premier Road, Plains Farm, had lied about his age when confronted by one of the girls’ fathers, claiming to be 16.

When challenged he admitted to the man that he was 18 and started crying.

Miss Dunn told the court that Long was aware of the girls’ ages and spoke of the detrimental effect the offences had on the teenagers.

She said: “It’s led to arguments within the family home, she gets upset when her family tried to discuss this with her.”

Miss Dunn continued that the second girl stopped going to the park in case she saw the defendant again.

“She has lost weight, she is stressed and it has had an impact on her schooling,” she added.

The court heard that the encounter with one of the girls took place in the play area of the park.

Long also befriended one of the teens on Facebook and asked her to strip – but she refused.

He was arrested on November 19 last year.

Glenn Gatland, defending, said: “He was a young man who had low self-esteem.

“He has been bullied in the past and he never felt attractive to girls.

“He was flattered when the two girls showed an interest in him which may explain his loss of control.”

Judge Roger Thorn QC called the mitigation “compelling” but said: “The fact of the matter is these children were, of course, both too young in fact and in law to give consent.”

Long pleaded guilty to two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was given a community order with supervision for three years and a sexual offences prevention order for five years.

He was also ordered to sign the sexual offenders’ register for five years.

Father and son guilty of raping 8-year-old girl together

David Brennan

A FATHER accused of raping an eight-year-old girl while his young son pinned her to the bed has been convicted of a string of sex offences.

David Brennan, aged 55, of Horn Park Lane, Lee, was convicted on November 25 of sexually abusing five young girls over the course of sixteen years, following a Woolwich Crown Court trial.

His son Sam, aged 22, of Eltham Hill, was convicted of four offences, including two counts of rape against one of those girls.

During his arrest last November, a number of handwritten notes were found in the the 55-year-old’s possession which he had entitled ‘My Life Story or Confession’.

In this document Mr Brennan confessed to engaging in a variety of sexual activities with three girls, all of whom were under 11.

When investigating officers spoke with one of the children, she alleged that Mr Brennan had forced his own son, then under 14 years of age, to pin her to a bed whilst he had raped her.

As a result of this information, Sam Brennan was arrested at his home in January.

Before the trial, David Brennan pleaded guilty to seven charges of possessing over 6,000 indecent images of children, along with nine counts of sexual abuse in relation to three of the victims.

He also admitted a further three charges during the course of the trial.

During the three-week trial, jurors heard that David Brennan made one girl wear his wife’s underwear and would tell one victim ‘remember, it’s our little secret’.

One child felt so scared of telling anyone she would only confide in her Barbie dolls.

David Brennan was found guilty of eight counts of rape, six counts of indecent assault, one count of indecency with a child and one count of taking of indecent images of a child

Sam Brennan was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of taking indecent photographs of a child and one count of indecency with a child

Both men will be sentenced on February 7.

Ian Watkins, singer of Welsh rock band Lostprophets, has pleaded guilty to a series of “depraved” child sex offences including attempted rape of a baby.

He had previously “furiously denied” the allegations.

The 36-year-old from Pontypridd had been due to stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court alongside two women.

Watkins pleaded guilty to attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13 but not guilty to rape. This was accepted by the prosecution.

Sentencing will take place on 18 December.

Prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told the court: “Ian Watkins was the lead singer in a successful band called the Lostprophets.

“He accepts he was a determined and committed paedophile.”

Among the sickening evidence heard today, the court was told that a laptop seized from Watkins’s home was password protected and was later sent to GCHQ to be “cracked.”

Unbelievably, it was eventually discovered the password on the computer was “Ifuckkids.”

Watkins also admitted three counts of sexual assault involving children and six involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

The evidence against the defendant came from computers, laptops and mobile phones. with some recovered from “cloud” storage.

The court heard that he filmed and kept the episodes of abuse – which took place in various hotels in London and south Wales – that were recovered by police.

Some of the evidence was too extreme and distressing to report.

Watkins insists he has no memory of what would have been key video evidence showing the abuse of his one-year-old victim

Watkins was originally charged with child rape but insisted sex with child did not take place during drug-fuelled binge he says was on at the time

Referring to two women standing alongside Watkins in the dock, Mr Clee said: “Both women sexually abused their own children and made them available to Watkins for him to abuse.”

The court was told how the abuse of the children by all parties was also evident in text messages.

Watkins sent a text to one of the women saying: “If you belong to me, so does your baby.”

In an exchange involving the other woman, she sent Watkins a message along with an image of her child to the effect that her child needed to know she was not loved.

Watkins also planned to “teach” the babies how to take drugs, the hearing was told.

The court has been hearing how Watkins recorded the attempted rape of a very young child in a hotel room in Shepherds Bush, London, in April 2012. He also filmed himself abusing the child with alongside the child’s mother inside a hotel where the band were staying.

Watkins message to child’s mother talked of wanting “to cross the line”.
The mother replied: “a summer of incest and child porn”
watkins answered: “hell yes baby”

Mr Clee said drugs played “a significant part in his offending against children”.

Police found meth, crack cocaine and GHB during their searches. The court heard that a sample of a child victim’s hair found it had been exposed to Methamphetamine

Mr Clee told the court drugs were a “regular theme” in his dealings with the two other defendants.

Watkins told police during interviews he was being stalked by “a crazed fan” and other people had access to his computers.

He claimed he was the “victim of a malicious campaign” against him.

The court heard in Oct 2006, Watkins met up in a hotel with a 16-year-old girl from Boston, whom he had met during during a Lostprophets concert.

She dressed in a schoolgirl’s outfit and he filmed their encounter.

In Oct 2008 he filmed himself having sex with another 16-year-old girl, who was also a Lostprophets fan.

One of the two women charged alongside Watkins, Woman A, admitted the attempted rape of a baby after denying rape and two charges of sexual assault as well as taking and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

Woman B pleaded guilty to conspiring to rape a child, three sexual assault charges and four charges of taking, possessing or distributing indecent images.

After hearing legal argument from barristers, Mr Justice Royce called the jury into court and told them: “There will not be a trial in this case. The defendants have all pleaded guilty to nearly all the charges against them. The prosecution does not seek a trial in these circumstances.

“You have been saved from having to watch extremely graphic and distressing material.”

Sally O’Neill, defending Watkins, said the singer was under the care of a psychiatrist.

Lostprophets, who have sold 3.5m albums around the world, were co-founded by the singer in 1997.

Watkins and co defendants admit offences

Watkins, with his hands clasped in front of him, rocked back and forth as he also admitted sexually assaulting a child aged under 13.

He also admitted aiding and abetting a female co-defendant to sexually assault a child under 13.

The singer, who has sold 3.5m records, looked at his feet as he admitted conspiracy to rape a child aged under 13, while his voice faltered as he quietly replied “guilty” to a charge of conspiring to sexually assault a child under 13.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing an indecent photograph of a child between August and December last year, a further charge of possessing four indecent photographs of children between August and December last year, and another charge of possessing five indecent images of children between last August and last September.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of taking indecent photographs of children dating back to 2007 and 2008.

Watkins also admitted possession of indecent photographs of a child and possessing extreme pornography depicting a person engaged in a sex act with an animal.

The musician, from Pontypridd, will be sentenced at a later date.

A 21-year-old woman, who cannot be named, admitted aiding and abetting an attempted rape, aiding and abetting rape, two counts of sexually assaulting a child aged under 13 years, taking indecent photographs of children and distributing indecent photographs of children.

A 24-year-old woman, who also cannot be named, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child aged under 13 by penetration.

She also admitted charges of sexually assaulting a child under 13 by touching, conspiracy to rape a child under 13, conspiracy to sexually assault a girl under 13, two counts of indecent photographs of a child and distributing indecent photographs of children.

Burslem waiter who used Facebook to tell 15-year-old he wanted to ‘kiss her body’ put on sex offenders register

A WAITER who told a 15-year-old girl on Facebook that he ‘loved her’ and wanted to ‘sleep in her arms’ has been placed on the sex offenders register.

Abdul Motlib worked at the Indian Cottage restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent where the teenager was a regular customer with her family.

The 26-year-old waiter, who usually served the group, at first asked for the girl’s father’s Facebook details, and was later invited to become ‘friends’ with his daughter.

But the apparently friendly contact soon became more sinister when Motlib, of Exmouth Grove, Burslem, began to bombard the girl with messages over the social media network.

He also obtained her mobile phone number, sent her text messages and tried to arrange meetings.

And Prosecutor Paul Farrow told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court how Motlib begged the girl for photographs of herself and declared his love for her two days later.

Mr Farrow said.“He asked her for a photograph of, ‘you know what’. She didn’t know what he was talking about.

“The messages were fairly persistent. He said he loved her within two days. He said he wanted to ‘sleep in her arms’ and ‘kiss her body.’”

Mr Farrow added: “The defendant always served her. She thought he was aged 18. Her mother thought he was older. At the time he was aged 25. Motlib attempted to convince his victim to meet him, but every time he suggested a time and place to meet, she insisted she would bring friends with her.

The court heard she had made it clear to Motlib that she was only 15. And Motlib claimed in his messages that he was 18.

Matters came to a head when the young girl’s mother found the messages Motlib had sent and police were called.

The waiter told officers he thought the victim was 16 and claimed he must have missed the message she sent informing him of her actual age.

He also claimed he told her he was only 18 to, ‘see how she reacted,’ and said he ‘didn’t mean it’ when he told her he loved her. He claimed he had, ‘no bad intentions.’

However, Motlib later admitted attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence.

Sentencing Motlib to a 12-month supervision order, and placing him on the sex offenders register for five years, Judge David Fletcher told him: “You are a man who became obsessed with a 15-year-old girl.

“She says you looked younger than the 26 we know you are. You may have taken a view she looked older, but you knew she was 15. You should not have continued with that relationship.”

Jason Holt, mitigating, said: “It went no further than wanting to kiss her.

“If not for the recent publicity of grooming within the Asian community, it could be this would never have been reported.”

Pervert jailed for sick child web images

walker

A sex offender has been jailed for six months after officers found almost 100 indecent images of children when they raided his Buckshaw Village home.

Alan Walker, 41, has been on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years following a conviction for making indecent images in 2003.

But just as the order was due to expire, Walker, of Buckshaw Hall Close, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, was found to have been downloading indecent images of children.

Preston Crown Court heard

officers identified the home Walker shares with his elderly mother as being an address where indecent material may have been downloaded.

Officers, who were acting on intelligence they had gathered, visited Walkers home and seized two laptops, an external hard drive and a USB stick.

The equipment was examined and 97 indecent images of children – mostly aged under 13 – were found. Walker denied having any interest in child pornography, telling officers he had been searching for adult naturist sites. However, he later pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images ranging from level one to level four. Fiona Wise, defending, told the court Walker had lost his job and was suffering from low self esteem. His wife – who he met in an internet chatroom – was living in the Ukraine while the couple worked out visa difficulties to enable them to live together in the UK. Miss Wise said Walker had completed a programme for sex offenders while in prison following his last convictions

Judge Graham Knowles, sentencing, said: “I don’t need to explain to you the harm that is done to children when they are required to pose or behave as the children I have had to look at today have been required to do. You have had all that explained to you when you were sentenced before and you had it all explained to you on the course. You know and have heard about the horror of a child growing into an adult life knowing that beyond their control around the world these images are used to feed fantasies of men who have the sexual perversion you have.”

Clanfield man spared jail after making indecent images

A MAN who made more than 240 indecent images of children has been spared jail.

Benjamin Bull, 30, downloaded the images of children – some as young as three – on home and work computers.

Officers discovered 109 images at level four and three at level five – the most serious category.

A further 28 level three images, 51 at level two and 52 at level one were found along with four extreme pornographic images.

Portsmouth Crown Court heard Bull’s crimes came to light when police searched the premises of an air conditioning business owned by his father, where he worked.

Computers and other equipment seized were analysed and found to contain indecent images of children.

Bull was arrested and interviewed on December 4 but denied he had committed the offences, instead trying to blame others.

Indecent images of children were also found on a computer and equipment seized from Bull’s home but he continued to deny committing any crime.

Hannah Smith, defending, said of Bull: ‘This is a man who has struggled to come to terms with his guilt. He has sought to displace it for a significant amount of time.’

She added: ‘He’s certainly got a lot more insight than he did this time last year and it is an ongoing process.

‘He is realising that he has royally ruined not only his own life but those of those nearest and dearest to him.’

Bull, of First Avenue, Clanfield, admitted 19 counts of making indecent images of children and four of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Sentencing him to six months in jail suspended for two years, judge Roger Hetherington said: ‘These offences involve dreadful abuse of children in the photographing and filming of them, albeit that it may be in some other country and something you are not actually aware of. But the fact that people like you are prepared to download this material provides the market for these activities.’

Bull was put under supervision and told to complete a programme to address internet sex offending. He must pay £2,000 costs and had to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register

Schools inspector paedophile jailed

A respected schools inspector hid a grim secret from his pupils and colleagues – he was a paedophile.

Trevor Lusty, of Giffard Park, brainwashed a girl victim and carefully groomed her so that he could satisfy his own sexual appetite.

A judge jailed him for seven years after hearing how the 66-year-old retired OFSTED inspector even appointed himself the girl’s swimming coach so he could massage her.

Paedophile Lusty preyed on the same girl from the age of four years after beginning a relationship with her mother.

By day he would inspect schools and ensure that teaching standards were being kept high. But for 12 years in his own time, he secretly carried out sordid acts on the young schoolgirl.

The pervert would masturbate the child telling her it would improve her swimming times by relaxing her.

Judge Seddon Cripps, sitting at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday, heard how the young girl had tried to tell adults of the abuse but was disbelieved as Lusty constantly denied it.

The systematic abuse began in 1986. The court heard how the child had began touching herself “for comfort” after her parents split up.

Sentencing Lusty, Judge Cripps said the pervert had soon begun to take an active role in the girl’s sexual act.

The girl, who has now graduated from university and cannot be named for legal reasons, complained to a family friend about the assaults when she was aged eight years but was not believed, the court heard.

“You told all that she was effectively a little liar and so she learned that she would have to suffer your abuse – no-one would believe her or help her,” said the Judge.

When she turned nine years she was swimming and entering competitions. Lusty, seeing an opportunity, quickly appointed himself her coach.

“You used to massage her,” said the Judge.

“She resisted at first but that was easy to overcome. She had learned that to resist you was hopeless.

“You massaged as often as you could,” continued the Judge.

When the promising swimmer turned 15 the massage sessions became more sexual.

The court heard that so comprehensive was Lusty’s brainwashing that she began to enjoy the sordid swimming sessions, ultimately leading to the pair embarking on a full sexual relationship for some years once she had turned 16.

“Your grooming of her over the years achieved exactly that which was your long-term objective,” said Judge Cripps.

The former teacher, whose career was described as “astonishingly successful” had denied all six counts of indecent assault but was found guilty in a trial in May.

His barrister Simon Clarke said: “He was an astonishingly successful teacher and later OFSTED inspector.

“He has had close contact and one may say opportunity, but over the career there has not been even the tiniest hint or suggestion of any misbehaviour.

Sentencing Lusty to three years imprisonment for three of the counts and four years for two more, all to run concurrently, the Judge said he would be jailed for a further three years for the final count of sexual assault to run consecutively, taking his total to seven years behind bars.

Jailing him, the Judge said: “You made your victim relive the events at a trial.

“You tried to lie your way out but you were convicted.”

You will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life and be disqualified from working with children.”
