Stephen Noy – Edlington

Doncaster man guilty of abusing young girls

A former Doncaster publican has been found guilty of the sexual abuse of two girls.

A jury took two hours to return unanimous verdicts against Stephen Noy, aged 57, of Bernard Road, Edlington today.

Noy had denied six charges of indecent assault and two counts of sex with a girl under 16.

Two victims gave evidence about incidents which took place in the 1980s.

Both made complaints several years ago but were deterred from pressing on with their claims.

The jury heard Noy was given a police caution several years ago for the indecent assault of a girl under 14.

Prosecutor Robert Underwood, who had called Noy a ‘predatory paedophile’, said there were ‘similarities’ between the accounts of the two women and that supported their allegations.

Kevin Jones, defending, said witnesses claimed Noy had a ‘distinguishing feature’ on his penis. Police called in a nurse who found no mark.

“That was something Mr Noy said you could check, ‘feel free’ and they did. He is right, there is no mark,” said Mr Jones.

Judge Rosalind Coe refused him bail and he is set to be sentenced tomorrow.

Mark Ahmed – Newbury

Paedophile sexually abused girl aged 2 on webcam boasting ‘Peppa Pig kept child calm’

Mark-Ahmed

A sick paedophile sexually abused a two-year-old girl during a Skype chat session and discussed having a child of his own to molest.

Mark Ahmed, 37, has been jailed for 17 years and four months after a judge heard of his “grotesque” chatroom abuse and discussions with a woman in Arizona in the US

Judge Stephen John heard the pair abused young children in front of a Skype camera as they encouraged each other’s depravity

Ahmed exchanged sick images of himself abusing a toddler and asked to have a baby with the woman so they could abuse it, Reading Crown Court heard.

The former member of the armed services began speaking to the woman over an instant messenger service, before exchanging photos and videos of themselves abusing children for hours over one day.

He was caught out just hours after sending images to Roxanne Chapin when Arizona Police contacted officers in the UK.

Ahmed told arresting police: “I am not coming back for a long time am I?”

The judge heard Ahmed committed the offences after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“The abuse all took place on January 23.

Nicholas Barraclough, prosecuting, said: “He abused her (the child) very seriously throughout the day.

“Ahmed sent 20 images to the woman showing sexual activity with the child.

“He used Skype to contact Chapin and provided a running commentary of the abuse.”

The court was given details of the messages sent between the pair, with Ahmed telling Chapin: “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would meet someone as sexy and likeminded.

“I want us to have a baby together, you should come here, we should get married.”

Cruel: Ahmed told Chapin Peppa Pig kept the child distracted

When Ahmed sent images of himself abusing the girl, Chapin, who was charged in the USA with assaulting two boys aged three and six, replied: “Oh my God babe, that is so sexy.”

The court heard she asked Ahmed what the child was doing during the abuse and he replied: “She is a bit baffled by it, but Peppa Pig is keeping her calm”, before asking Chapin to send him more disgusting images.

Mr Barraclough told the court: “The defendant was undeterred when Chapin suggested the boy had fought her a lot and told her “no.”

“There was reference to next time and Ahmed said ‘babe, if we have a baby together, will we still play with it from birth?

“Boy or girl, it is better to start from newborn’.

“There was discussion of having a baby for the purpose of abuse.”

The court was told sick Ahmed also watched pornography with the toddler and refused to give police the PIN code to his mobile phone when he was arrested the following day.

Ahmed, formerly of St Johns Road in Newbury, admitted:

  • Attempting to rape a child aged under 13

  • Three counts of assaulting a child aged under 13 by penetration

  • 0ne count of making indecent photos of a child

  • 0ne count of distributing indecent images of a child

……at a previous hearing.

In mitigation, the court heard the sex attacker was under the influence of drugs when the offences took place.

Alistair Grainger, defending, said: “Mercifully, no injuries were caused and one can hope and pray she is too young to remember this and hope and pray it has no long-lasting effects on her.

“He is sufficiently realistic and feels deeply ashamed.

“He will apply to go on the necessary programmes and his time in custody will be productive.”

Judge John, sentencing, said: “The facts are chilling and of the most disturbing nature.

“The only positive feature in this case is that it provides a very clear demonstration of how determined and speedy action by the police here and abroad can safeguard young children and bring offenders to justice.

“The child abuse communications can only be described as grotesque, as she was seen to be encouraging you in the sexual abuse and expressing pleasure at doing so.

“You both discuss having a baby together whom you and she could then abuse.

“That woman has made admissions to the Arizona Police of sexual abuse of children and of making and receiving images from you.”

“The victim of these offences was only two years of age, scarcely more than a baby.

“It is too early for anyone to be able to assess the psychological effects of your offending upon her, one can only hope that memories are not laid down so as to affect her future.

“The account you gave about feeling emotionally attached to the woman in the USA and that you acted as you did only because you wished to keep her happy, is one I reject.

“You had never met this woman, living thousands of miles away.

“Your only interest was in sharing chat-log discussions about the abuse of small children and exchanging images with her.

“Your claim to have never been sexually attracted to children is patently false and self-deluding.

“You even go so far as to suggest that this woman was grooming you.

“It is quite apparent that you are a long way from confronting your behaviour.

“The images are close to those of the most serious kind and I have absolutely no doubt that you pose a significant risk of serious harm to children.

“You are plainly a danger to the public.”

Female headteacher Guilty Of Indecent Assault On Boys

Anne Lakey court case

A headteacher once celebrated for her “visionary” leadership has been found guilty of indecent assault against two teenage boys.

Anne Lakey had sex with the schoolchildren, aged 13 and 15, over a three-year-period in the 1980s – and one victim has described her as a “disgusting sexual monster”.

Anne Lakey, 55, from Stanley, County Durham, had denied 13 counts of indecent assault on two teenagers in the 1980s.

But a jury at Teesside Crown Court found her guilty of all charges after a two-week trial.

Some of the offences took place when Lakey was a history teacher in her late 20s, the court was told.

The 55-year-old’s glittering career, which saw her become a national leader in education, came to an abrupt halt in 2012 after her youngest victim wrote an accusatory email to her school – outlining the abuse that he and the second child had suffered 25 years earlier.

Now a father himself, he said he was “sickened” by Lakey’s claims that she always put the interests of young people first.

His email led to her suspension as the chief executive of the Durham Federation of Schools – but as police began to investigate, Lakey called the victim and tried to persuade him to lie to detectives.

The complainant recalled: “The delivery was like A Level psychology 101. There was the initial ‘my poor father, lost my mother’ – a trump card to play.

“There was ‘my career, my daughter, my husband. I’ve definitely not had sex with any other children since’ was mentioned early on.

“It was laid on thick, emotionally at the start, towards the end there was flattery alongside that.”

The victim had described how Lakey took his virginity when he was 13 – and he told police how they repeatedly had sex in her marital bed.

At one point, the teenager had to hide in a cupboard when they almost caught in bed together.

When he had tried to break off their relations, the pupil had to force his way out of Lakey’s home.

Detective Inspector Aelf Sampson, of Durham Police, said: “These men were children at the time, and became vulnerable victims of sexual abuse at the hands of a woman who had some power and responsibility for them.

“She was someone who was respected and seen as successful by the community. These boys should have been safe in her company, instead of being damaged by their experience.

“Regardless of whether these boys appear to have been willing participants in the offences, they could not consent by law to what happened. The law is there to protect victims.”

Lakey, a mother-of-one who married three times, has been bailed until her sentencing tomorrow at Teesside Crown Court as an “act of mercy” by Judge Howard Crowson.

The defendant admitted:

  • Making six indecent photos of a child – video clips at category A, on or between November 21st, 2013 and June 26th, 2014,

  • Possessing 100 indecent video clips of category A, last July 17th

  • Making five indecent photos of a child at category B, on or between October 7th, 2013 and October 22nd, 2013

  • Making two indecent photos at category C, on October 7th, 2013

He also pleaded guilty to five further allegations of:

Possessing an indecent photo of a child –

  • Involving 40 video clips at category B

  • 20 indecent videos at category C

  • 250 images at category A, 44 images at category B

  • 128 pictures at category C, all on last July 17th.

The defendant, who has no previous convictions, was bailed until July 27th, for a pre- sentence report.

He was ordered to sign the sexual offenders’ register, must live at his home address and must not have any unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18.

Judge Beverley Lunt told McConachie: “All sentencing options, including prison, will be considered.”

Facebook paedophile groomed 13-year-old girl with alcohol, cannabis and teddy bears

dan

A Facebook relationship between a paedophile and a teenage girl has led to him receiving a prison sentence for sexual activity with a child.

Daniel Moore, 23, groomed the 13-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, by giving her alcohol, cannabis and teddy bears.

He was sentenced to six years in prison at Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty at an early plea hearing.

The court heard how Moore initially contacted the victim on Facebook and asked her if she wanted to meet up.

They continued to talk over the social networking site until Moore was imprisoned for an unrelated matter.

When he was released Moore started talking to the victim on Facebook again, but she told him her age and said it would be “wrong for them to have a relationship” because of her age.

The pair met at Moore’s house and he asked the girl to lie about her age to his mother and told her no one must know about their relationship.

Moore gave the victim cannabis on a number of occasions as well as money to buy drugs, and bought her teddy bears as gifts.

On one occasion, Moore bought the girl a bottle of vodka which she “downed”, and had sex with her.

After the incident, the girl said she could not remember much about the physical act.

The abuse came to light after the girl was placed in care and Moore, of Borough Road, Loughor, Swansea, was arrested on April 30 this year.

Police found two cannabis plants at his home as well as drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with sexual activity with a child, two counts of sexually touching a child, grooming a child, two counts of supplying cannabis to a child, and producing cannabis. He pleaded guilty to all seven charges.

Sentencing, Recorder Geraint Walters said: “The facts of this case make very disturbing reading.

“You met her (the victim) on Facebook where there was much talk between you and her, she was 12 when you were talking to her but the nature of your conversation was plainly sexual and the purpose was grooming.

“When you ultimately did meet she told you it would be wrong for her to have a relationship because of her age, she was right and you knew exactly how young she was.

“You provided her with cannabis as part of the ongoing grooming and you gave her gifts which were signs of your real affection for her but they were given to a vulnerable and young girl. You knew what you were doing.

“I hope you do realise how wrong this all was. I have to see the case for what it is. You were 21 and she was just 13 and however streetwise she was, she was still a child and very vulnerable and all of these facts were known to you.”

Moore was sentenced to a total of six years imprisonment and has been placed on the Sexual Offenders Register for life.

Sickening pervert caught trying to meet 14-year-old girl

grogan

THIS is the moment a pervert was snared in a trap set by self-professed paedophile hunter Stinson Hunter.

Karl Grogan, 53, was caught after arranging to meet Hunter — posing as a 14-year-old called Jade — at a cinema in Blackburn.

In a sickening exchange of messages on adult dating site Lovoo, Grogan ignored repeated mentions of the “youngster’s” age, saying: “Lots of men on here meet you out and rape you, then you’d know about it hun. I’m not like that.”

After repeated lewd comments from Grogan, Hunter, posing as the teenager, told him: “You’re disgusting. You only want me for one thing. That’s all you think about. I’m 14, for God’s sake. This is a big deal for me and you’re going on about sex stuff all the time.

“It’s upsetting me and you don’t care.”

But Grogan replied: “I do care but you want me to take you out and want nothing in return. Why are you on a dating site?”

In full knowledge of the age of the girl he was supposedly speaking to, Grogan went on to make arrangements to meet the teenager at Vue Cinema in Blackburn on February 23. When he arrived for the date he was greeted by Hunter, whose confrontation with the pervert was captured on video.

Police were called and the video was posted on YouTube where it received more than 3,000 likes before Grogan appeared in court.

The day after the attempted meet-up, police officers called at Grogan’s house and showed him the video. He said he believed he was meeting a 16-year-old but later pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to meet a child after grooming.

He was remanded in custody for his own protection.

Judge Andrew Woolman, sentencing at Preston Crown Court, said: “You spent time in February contacting over the internet somebody you thought was Jade, 14. You suggested to her that you wanted to meet for sexual purposes including sexual intercourse and she told you very clearly, or indeed Stinson Hunter told you very clearly, that Jade was 14.

“You carried on with your communication and eventually went on to meet somebody you thought was Jade.”

He released Grogan from jail, saying: “More good will be done by releasing you from prison to enable you to go on probation courses.”

He ordered Grogan to undergo supervision with the probation service and made him the subject of a five-year sexual harm prevention order.

Leeds child sex abuse gang member is jailed

jun

A MAN who was part of a gang who “sexually corrupted” a 13-year-old girl has been jailed.

Junaid Rashid, 22, is the latest member of the group to be sentenced over sex offences committed against the vulnerable youngster in Beeston, Leeds.

Earlier this month four men were handed sentences totalling 51 years after a jury heard how the victim was groomed, systematically abused and sometimes forced to have sex against her will by the defendants who all knew she was under age.

The girl would be given cigarettes and alcohol, contacted via Facebook with demands for sex and picked up in the street and ordered to get into cars with the men.

Rashid, 22, of Sefton Avenue, Beeston, was jailed for two-and-a-half years after he was found guilty of two offences of inciting sexual activity with a child. Leeds Crown Court heard Rashid contacted the girl via text and Facebook messages asking her to have sexual contact with him.

The girl refused and Rashid later deleted her number and blocked her on the social networking site. Sentencing Hussain, judge Geoffrey Marson, QC, said: “You have shown no remorse for what you did and she has suffered serious psychological injury because of this abuse.”

Five other men are still to be sentenced over the abuse.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Griffin, of Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, said: “The sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable children and young people is a despicable and insidious crime. It is an issue that cuts across all communities and cultures.”

Man jailed for committing sex act in front of playing children

gary

A MAN with a self-confessed sexual preoccupation with children has been jailed for two years after committing a sex act on himself in public.

56-year-old Gary Smith of Sidney Close, Stanley was seen acting suspiciously outside a village pub near Stanley as up to a dozen children, aged between five and ten, played nearby, at about 7pm on March 16.

Durham Crown Court heard on Tuesday that his actions came to the attention of a witness in the pub, who alerted the licensee, before going outside to speak to the children.

It was brought to the attention of the police who searched Smith’ house the following day

Three DVDs were found in on the living room table which contained moving footage featuring children as young as 8 involved in sexual activity with adults.

Smith claimed to of bought the DVDs 20 years earlier and admitted being sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children

When questioned about the indecent exposure at the pub, Smith told the police he was ‘scratching a rash’

Smith pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of children aged under 13-years-old and three counts of possessing indecent images of children

A sexual prevention harm order – to restrict Smiths activities on his release from prison – is to be confirmed at a later hearing

Shop worker found ‘sickening’ child abuse images on computer of boss

stark

A BUSINESSMAN was caught with extreme images of child abuse after one of his employees went on a computer looking for the latest films.

The shop worker knew his boss Darren Stark, 35, had the latest releases and searched for them at his Easy Technology store.

Instead, he was confronted by indecent images of two, 12 to 14-year-old boys taken by a web camera.

Phillip Evans, prosecuting, told Hull Crown Court the trainee “didn’t tell anyone what he’d seen”.

“He was uncomfortable, and was worrying what to do. Mr Stark was his employer,” he said.

The court heard it was not until the employee’s girlfriend went into the shop in Hilderthorpe Road, Bridlington, two days later, that Stark’s offences came to light.

The computer was analysed and found to contain a total of 119 indecent images of children.

The majority (63) were rated as Category A, the most serious.

There were 51 Category B images, and five at Category C.

Police also found two images of sex acts being performed on a dog.

The court heard Stark, of Kirkgate, Bridlington, had downloaded the images between October 6, 2013, and February 6, last year.

He admitted possessing them.

Judge Simon Jack sentenced Stark to six months in jail, suspended for two years, and ordered him to attend the Northumbria sex offenders treatment programme for two years.

The judge told him: “I hope this will be the one and only time you appear before the courts – that is up to you.”

Stark was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years and must sign the sex offenders register for seven years.

Teacher told schoolgirl ‘I wanted to f*** you silly’ – Banned from teaching

A teacher who told a female pupil ‘I wanted to f*** you silly’ has been banned from Britain’s classrooms for life.

Ian Jones, 40, told the girl her boyfriend was probably cheating on her and moaned he ‘wasn’t getting any’ because his marriage was on the rocks.

He then tried to arrange a leaving party for himself and invited a group of female pupils to a Birmingham hotel for farewell drinks, the National College for Teaching and Leadership heard.

But married Jones was reported by three of the ‘upset’ girls after he sent a series of offensive Facebook messages.

Jones, who had been a teacher for a decade before Grace Academy, in Darlaston, West Midlands in February last year denied his conduct was ‘sexually motivated’.

He admitted acting in the way alleged, but said he was stressed’ and the message to the girl should be seen as a ‘cry for help’.

But a professional conduct panel found his behaviour over a three-day period was incompatible with working as a teacher.

Panel chair Alison Walsh said: ‘We believe that the Facebook messages alone sent to Pupil A… provide unarguable evidence of Mr Jones’ motivation.

‘His stark final message to Pupil A ‘I wanted to f*** you silly’ allows no other possible conclusion to be drawn but that his conduct was sexually motivated.

‘To reach any other conclusion would be totally perverse.

‘We conclude that there has been a course of conduct towards Pupil A which is reflected in all the particulars that we have found proved and we reject Mr Jones’ explanation that the final offensive message should be seen only as a cry for help.’

The panel found his behaviour amounted to an ‘abuse of his position of trust and a violation of the rights of pupils’ and that his actions were ‘sexually motivated’.

‘All of those factors lead the panel to conclude that Mr Jones has demonstrated behaviour that is incompatible with him currently remaining a member of the teaching profession,’ Ms Walsh added.

Department of Education official Alan Meyrick accepted the panel’s recommendation and banned Jones from teaching for life.

‘Mr Jones is guilty of a serious departure from the personal and professional elements of the Teachers’ Standards, abuse of his position of trust and a violation of the rights of pupils,’ he said.

‘In addition his actions were sexually motivated. All of those factors support me in my agreement with the panel that Mr Jones has demonstrated behaviour that is incompatible with him currently remaining a member of the teaching profession.

Mr Meyrick continued: ‘I have noted that there was no physical contact with any of the pupils concerned in this case.

‘It is clear however that the pupils were all upset about what had happened and the
vice principal told the hearing they were in tears the next morning.

‘Mr Jones’ behaviour had a significant adverse effect on the young girls and Pupil A in particular.

‘Pupil A is described as being upset, angry and frightened by what had happened.’

He added: ‘This means that Mr Ian Jones is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.

‘Furthermore, in view of the seriousness of the allegations found proved against him, I have decided that Mr Ian Jones shall not be entitled to apply for restoration of his eligibility to teach.’

Paedophile pensioner who abused young girls in East Kilbride is jailed for 15 months

A paedophile pensioner has been locked up for 15 months for abusing young girls in the town.

Depraved James Nicolson, who is aged 72, began sexually abused the children in East Kilbride and elsewhere in Lanarkshire in 2009.

One of his victims was abused over the course of four years.

The perverted OAP pleaded guilty to using lewd and libidinous practices towards one of the girls on New Year’s Day, 2010, and on November 30, 2010.

She was nine years old.

Nicolson also admitted using lewd and libidinous practices towards a 10-year-old girl from November 26, 2009, until November 30, 2010.

The sickening abuse then started up again on December 1, 2010, and carried on until December 31, 2013.

Nicolson’s solicitor, Steven Lilly, described his client’s vile actions as a “serious breach of trust” but added that the retired pensioner had never offended in the past.

Mr Lilly said: “He [Nicolson] doesn’t want to do anything like this again. He’s determined not to find himself in the same situation.”

Mr Lilly added that Nicolson had been of “previous good character” and that he was determined to maintain his liberty.

“He is prepared to do all and everything to avoid custody … he has no desire to interact with them [the victims]”, added Mr Lilly.

Sentencing Nicolson, Sheriff Thomas Millar told the court that, due to the gravity of the offence, no method of disposal was appropriate other than custody.

Sheriff Millar said: “You abused your victims over a period of years and on repeated occasions.

“I have to ensure the public are protected of serious harm from you.”

Nicolson, of George Street, Paisley, was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment, and told he will remain on licence for five years upon his release.

He will stay on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.

Helensburgh paedophile avoids jail sentence

A HELENSBURGH paedophile exposed when his wife of 23 years caught him looking at indecent images of children on a laptop has escaped a jail sentence.

Lesley Dunbar, 63, had almost 150 images – dozens of which were at the most extreme end of the scale including some featuring children as young as three – stored on devices throughout his Maitland Court home.

When his wife at the time discovered his dark secret, she took the computer, smashed it, and threw it in the bin.

She then immediately reported him to police.

Dunbar appeared in the dock at Dumbarton Sheriff Court recently after he previously pleaded guilty to having the images in his possession between February 14 and May 14, 2014.

Bert Thomson, solicitor for the defence, said his client was able to complete unpaid work.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told the accused his crimes were not ‘victim-free’ and said he would have considered prison time if Dunbar had a history of offending.

Dunbar, of Dunoon, was sentenced to a Community Payback Order with three years’ supervision and 210 hours of unpaid work.

He was ordered not to use any device capable of accessing the web unless supervised.

Serial child sex offender jailed

A serial child sex offender was jailed for 17 months for accessing indecent images on computers in Cheltenham library just eleven days after a court prohibited him from doing so, a court heard.

Bernard Hemmingway, 50, of Griffiths Avenue, Cheltenham had “a long history of sexual offending,” Gloucester Crown Court was told today.

Prosecuting barrister Christopher Smythe said: “He was first convicted of indecently assaulting a boy under the age of 14 in 1983 and has a number of subsequent convictions for similar offences in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2011 and 2013.

“Custodial and sexual offences prevention orders have been imposed in the past, which have been breached on occasions.

“He has also been convicted of downloading indecent images of children.

“Part of the SOPO imposed on him was not to use any device capable of accessing the Internet but on 38 occasions he accessed computers in Cheltenham library.

“On one occasion a library assistant saw him looking at a screen which had the image of an erect penis on it.

“It was found he had been searching sites such as Cheap Boys, Star Boys, Young Boys and those with more explicit titles.”

Defending barrister Jonathan Lewis said: “My client has engaged well on his suspended sentence order and wants to stop offending.

“His offences at first were very serious but they have become less serious and many of the searches made on the computers in Cheltenham library were innocuous.

“But I accept he has a high risk of re-offending and still has a preoccupation with this sort of material.”

His Honour Judge William Hart said: “Thirty-two years ago you commenced a history of contact sexual offending and possessing indecent images of children, for which you have been jailed.

“A sexual offences prevention order was made in extensive terms and you received a 12-month prison sentence in November 2013 for three breaches.

“In November 2014 you received a suspended jail sentence for a further two breaches but within just eleven days of that order being made you went to Cheltenham library and proceeded to access the Internet on a computer which did not have a risk management software installed.

“You then accessed indecent material repeatedly.

“You have showed a flagrant disregard for the terms of the order and immediate custody is unavoidable.”

Hemmingway was jailed for a total of 17 months.

Man convicted of raping schoolgirl while her father watched

22/06/2015 Crown Court: Dean Angear

A MAN is today facing years in jail after he was convicted of raping a girl while her father watched.

Dean Angear, aged 41, was found guilty by a jury of having sex with the child two decades ago, when she was 14 or 15.

The complainant, now in her 30s, told a court that she had been abused by her father since the age of about four or five.

The dad, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is in prison awaiting sentence having admitted rape and indecent assault.

His daughter secretly recorded him confessing to the crimes, Plymouth Crown Court heard.

She said her father allowed her to have underage sex with Angear in 1995 and 1996 while he was performing an indecent act in the same room.

The woman said she was high on ecstasy her father had given her at the time.

Father-of-three Angear, a courier, had denied two counts of rape at a property near Plymouth in Cornwall.

The jury heard they were specimen charges and represented a greater number of offences.

He claimed the allegations were “complete rubbish” and she was telling lies – though he could not explain why.

But a jury convicted Angear of rape at the end of a three-day trial.

The panel of seven men and five women took three and a half hours to find him guilty.

The woman, who gave evidence from behind a screen during the trial, bravely sat at the back of the courtroom with members of her family while the verdicts were returned.

Judge Paul Darlow remanded Angear in custody to be sentenced tomorrow.

His barrister, Malcolm Clarke, asked for bail overnight so he could say goodbye to his children.

But Judge Darlow said: “The jury has found he has been lying. He has chosen to take his chances and he has failed.”

The woman said during the trial that she used a hidden Dictaphone to record her father confessing to his crimes in December.

The jury heard the tape, where the woman turns the conversation towards the abuse and mentions Dean Angear.

The father is heard to admit that he allowed Angear, then in his early 20s, to have sex with her.

He has since pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting Angear to rape the girl.

Woman recorded dad confess to raping her, Plymouth jury told

A WOMAN secretly recorded her father confessing to raping her as a girl, a court heard.

She told a jury how she tricked the man into admitting to abusing her almost 20 years before.

The pensioner is heard saying: “I hate myself. I bitterly regret it. I wish it had never happened. It was stupid.”

The jury in the trial of another man, Dean Angear, was played a 45-minute recording of the conversation the woman had with her father in December last year.

Angear, aged 41, is accused of having sex with the underage girl while the father sat in the same room.

The dad, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has already pleaded guilty to raping and indecently assaulting his daughter.

He has also admitted aiding and abetting Angear to rape the girl and is in custody awaiting sentence.

Father-of-three Angear, a courier, is on trial after denying two counts of raping the girl almost 20 years ago.

He denies ever having sex with her when she was 14 or 15.

The woman, now a mother in her 30s, has told the court her father started sexually abusing her from a young age.

His offences culminated at a property in Cornwall near Plymouth when he repeatedly raped her.

The woman said that her father gave her ecstasy and allowed Angear to have sex with her while he sat watching.

She added she went to speak to her father at his Plymouth flat in December last year and secretly recorded the conversation on a Dictaphone.

The woman starts talking about the family but turns the conversation around to his abuse, saying she could not talk to anyone else.

The court heard that in fact she had gone to the police in October that year.

The man is heard saying: “I am bitterly sorry.”

But he adds: “I only have a few years left. Let me die in peace.”

The woman turns the conversation to Angear, who was about 21 at the time of the allegations.

She is heard saying her father “made her have sex” with him.

The father replied: “I am disgusted with myself. You are my daughter, that should not have happened.”

Angear, giving evidence, said he knew the woman as a girl but he denied having sex with her.

The defendant added he had never been inside the property where the rapes were said to have taken place.

He accused both the woman and her father of telling lies about him.

Angear said he had “no idea” why they would lie about him.

Angear, of Grimspound Close in Leigham, has pleaded not guilty to two charges of raping a girl under the age of 16 between August 1995 and February 1996.

The trial continues.

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for serious sexual offences against children in Oxfordshire.

Following a seven day trial at Oxford Crown Court, Clifford Godden, aged 72, of Blackditch, Stanton Harcourt, was yesterday (23/6) found guilty by a unanimous jury of twenty counts of sexual offences.

Godden was convicted of eleven counts of indecent assaults, one count of attempted rape, four counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, and four counts of rape.

He was sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison for the historic offences which were carried out in Oxfordshire.

Godden was arrested on 6 May 2014 and was charged with the offences on 21 August 2014.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Kelly Gilbert of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “I am so pleased with the outcome of this trial because the victims are genuine and honest people who desperately wanted to be free of the feelings of shame and fear this man had put them through.

“The victims suffered in silence for many years, but thankfully this monster is behind bars where he belongs.

“This is a positive result for the victims, Thames Valley Police and its Child Abuse Investigation Unit, and the Crown Prosecution Service.

“We hope this encourages others to have the confidence to come forward in the future.”

A 64-year-old man was found guilty by a jury at Bradford Crown Court of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Halifax town centre almost two years ago.

Thomas Burns, of Illingworth Road, Halifax, was granted bail until he is sentenced on August 10.

The court heard that after the girl asked Burns for money he offered to give her £10 if she went with him to a cash machine in a secluded area where he grabbed her wrists and sexually assaulted her.

Recorder Neil Davey QC adjourned sentence on Burns and indicated that he believed a custodial sentence was inevitable for the serious offence.

Depraved bank workers sexually abused one-year-old baby girl

David-Harper

A pair of depraved bank workers sexually assaulted a one-year-old girl – after one said it would be “cute” to see the other abuse a baby.

David Harper, 36, struck up a relationship with married colleague Jennifer Maguire, 31, before encouraging her to send him videos of herself and the child

The pair’s despicable crimes were only uncovered as a result of an unrelated internal investigation into Harper’s behaviour at a Bank of Scotland branch in South Lanarkshire.

They are both now facing jail

Jennifer-Maguire

Bosses initially started trawling through his emails over claims he had harassed another female member of staff – but called in police when they uncovered even more disturbing material.

Maguire claimed she got involved in the child abuse because Harper had threatened to put naked images of her online.

Harper, who was also found to have thousands of child abuse images on his computer, denied he made such a threat.

In a message to Maguire, he said it would be “cute” to see her abuse a baby.

The sick pair admitted a charge of sexual assault on a young child over an 18-month period when she was aged one and two.

Harper also pleaded guilty to making threats to another woman that he would publish intimate photos of her and a charge of making indecent photos of children.

Maguire also admitted distributing or showing indecent photographs.

Prosecutor Natalie Henderson told Hamilton Sheriff Court bosses at the bank reported the matter to police after they found an email making reference to a child.

Searches of both Harper and Maguire’s homes were carried out in November 2013, during which officers confiscated a laptop and mobile phone from Harper.

The laptop was found to contain 9,870 indecent still images of children and 17 moving images.

Images relating to the charges of abusing a child and making indecent photographs of a child were also found, along with texts between the two accused.

When officers interviewed Maguire earlier this year, she told them she had been put under pressure by Harper and had felt “confused”.

She stated that she was on anti-depressants and had thoughts of ending her life.

Sheriff Daniel Kelly QC deferred sentence until July 16 for social work reports and risk assessments.

He refused the pair bail and ordered that both be remanded in custody.
