Maciej Kukla – Stafford

December 2014

Caretaker at Stafford school recorded children using toilets with secret camera

A CARETAKER at a Stratford school set up a hidden camera so he could record children using the toilets before watching the recordings on a laptop after other staff had left.

And after his wife challenged him about his sexual abuse of a young girl in an incident unrelated to his job, Maciej Kukla confessed to what he had been doing.

The 38-year-old of Warwick Road, Stratford, pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to three charges of voyeurism by recording a person ‘doing a private act’ and one of making indecent images.

He also admitted two unrelated offences of sexually assaulting a girl and two of sexually assaulting a young boy.

Prosecutor Iain Willis said that in 2008 Kukla had been employed as site manager at a primary school in Stratford, where his duties were principally those of a caretaker.

In addition he was responsible for the IT facilities and also gave lessons in IT and ran two after-school clubs.

But after a woman had visited Kukla’s home earlier this year her daughter told her while they were there he had touched her inappropriately.

Her mother reported the matter to the police, and the girl then revealed there had been an earlier similar incident.

It also later emerged he had touched a nine-year-old boy indecently.

When Kukla was arrested over his offences against the girl, he accepted he had seen her on the two occasions, but claimed nothing inappropriate had taken place.

But while he was on bail his wife challenged him about the allegations, and over a number of weeks he began to make admissions that he had touched the girl.

He went on to tell her he had used a hidden camera in the toilets of the school to record children using them.

When questioned for a second time by police Kukla admitted the offences against the girl and that he had also touched a young boy indecently.

Officers carried out a search of his home where they found a video camera memory card containing recordings from the toilets at the school.

There were a number of moving images, including some which had captured Kukla putting the covert camera in place and retrieving it, showing girls aged between nine and 11, who could be identified as pupils at the school, using the toilets.

When that damning evidence was put to him, Kukla admitted he was responsible for those recordings, as well as others in both the girls’ and the boys’ toilets as well as the toilets in the infant section of the school.

He made a small wooden box to hold the camera and make it look as though it was part of the boxing-in of the plumbing.

Mr Willis told the court: “He said he had first used it to detect vandalism but then, as he said, to find out more about himself, to see what his reaction would be to viewing it.

Graeme Simpson, defending, said that none of the children knew they had been recorded by Kukla.

Judge Richard Griffith-Jones commented: “The parents at this school are going to feel horrible knowing this was going on.”

He adjourned the case for a psychiatric report to be prepared.

Kukla, who was ordered to register as a sex offender, was granted bail on the understanding a custodial sentence was ‘virtually inevitable’.

Old Colwyn man jailed for five years over child sex offences

Rodney Cosgrove

AN OLD Colwyn man convicted of groping young schoolgirls at his home after he groomed them has been jailed for five years.

Rodney Cosgrove, aged 47, denied sexually assaulting four girls but was convicted by a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court last week.

Judge Philip Hughes, sitting at Mold on Monday, jailed him for five years and ordered him to register with the police as a sex offender indefinitely.

He was also made the subject of a SOPO (Sexual Offences Prevention Order) to curb his future activities.

Cosgrove, who had no previous convictions, of Voryn Avenue, disputed touching them inappropriately and groping them.

He was convicted but cleared of a further sexual assault and a charge of attempted rape.

The judge said that three of the girls were aged 11 and one of them was aged 12.

They were at his home using his computer.

He had a selection of children’s films which he made available for them to watch and also played his guitar.

Judge Hughes said while Cosgrove did not accept the convictions, he was satisfied he was sexually attracted to the girls and had entered into Facebook conversation with one of them for many months.

“The frequency of the messages and their content demonstrates a classic example of a middle aged man grooming a young child for sexual purposes,” Judge Hughes explained.

He did everything he could to make girls feel welcome at his home while purporting to be a responsible adult.

But what damage he had done would not be known until they were older.

One was receiving counselling and had self harmed and while he could not be blamed for her initial vulnerability it was likely that he had aggravated it.

Prosecuting barrister Elen Owen said there was every indication Cosgrove would have carried on with his actions, trying his luck, if one had not told her mother.

Simon Mintz, defending, said his client’s Facebook messages were childish and silly talk.

But the judge said he did not agree. He said it was a good example of someone trying to cultivate the confidence of a young girl which he would then be able to exploit.

Mr Mints said he accepted that they were inappropriate and should not have taken place.

The offences were limited in scope and the touching was over clothing.

But it was accepted that the over-all picture was one which the court would find disturbing.

Cosgrove had no previous convictions, he had a good work record.

Mr Mintz asked the judge to take totality of sentence into consideration

Pervert who exposed himself to a young girl several times after committing a sexual assault on her months before avoids prison

Bolton Crown Court heard Colin Lee Booth sexually assaulted the girl at a house in late 2012.

He then exposed himself to her four or five times at the start of 2013.

The court heard how these incidents were brought on by Mr Booth’s alcohol use and that he was ‘distressed’.

Booth, aged 44, of Church Lane, Westhoughton, has been attending alcoholics anonymous sessions to tackle his drink problem.

Guy Mathieson, prosecuting, said: “He would consume a large amount of alcohol prior to these incidents.

“He has a similar conviction in 2011 for exposing himself to a female taxi driver.”

Brian McKenna, defending, said: “Each time the victim asked Mr Booth to stop, he did.

“This man has struggled with an alcohol addiction and it seems to have been a big factor in his life.

“This abuse seems to have been exasperated in recent years because of his financial difficulties — he was made bankrupt in 2010.

“He is ‘sick’ of his conduct and he has done his best to identify his problem and do something about it.”

Judge Timothy Stead, sentencing, said: “These offences wouldn’t have been as bad if you were immediately apologetic and had not done anything else, but on four other occasions you exposed yourself.

“But you have been sufficiently shocked by what you have done to make steps to do something about it. These steps have been significant, and I’m impressed by that.”

Booth pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual assault and four charges of indecent exposure.

He was given a community order to enrole on a three-year sexual offenders programme, in which he will address his alcohol abuse, and was banned from working with children.

Child rapist is jailed two decades after assaults

A RAPIST who attacked a young girl in his restaurant more than two decades ago was snared when he was stopped at an airport carrying a fruit knife in his luggage.

Wladimir Dektereff, 74, from Harrogate fled to Portugal and thought he had escaped justice for a shocking rape and 19 indecent assaults he committed on the girls, who at the time were aged between ten and 15.

But after one of his annual flights back to the UK, he was stopped by customs officers at Heathrow Airport in October last year after they found a fruit knife in one of his suitcases.

He was apprehended when they realised his details matched that of a suspect wanted for the offences – which took place between 1982 and 1986.

Although he admitted knowing the girls during questioning, Dektereff, who upon his return was bailed to an address in Harrogate, initially denied his crimes before pleading guilty at a hearing last month.

Prosecuting at York Crown Court yesterday, Simon Kealey told the court how Dektereff had run a restaurant in North Yorkshire and had employed one of the girls as a part-time waitress when she was 13.

Mr Kealey said: “He began flattering and complimenting her, then touching her. This pattern of behaviour continued and he began to kiss her in the restaurant. He also would give her lifts home.”

He added that when the girl was 15, she was waiting for a lift home when Dektereff walked in and the rape took place.

One of the other girls was also employed by the restaurant when she was indecently assaulted whilst alone in a kitchen.

Mr Kealey then revealed that shortly after the offences, Dektereff had moved to Portugal with his partner, but continued to visit North Yorkshire.

It was on one such trip in October last year that he was caught with the fruit knife and his terrible past was uncovered.

Defending, Richard Reid said that Dektereff is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.

He also said that at the time of the offences, he was struggling financially and had a problem with alcohol.

He added: “He has pleaded guilty and spared the victims the ordeal of a trial. He has genuine remorse and regret for his offences and has a low risk of re-offending.”

Sentencing Dektereff to seven years, Judge Stephen Ashurst said: “You have admitted 20 serious sexual offences.

“The passage of time does not make the offence of rape any less serious. You have had many years at liberty to get on with your own life and your three victims have had to cope in their own way.

“One has got on with her life, but the two others have been affected very seriously. It has affected their relationships with adult men.”

He added: “You were in a position of some considerable power and trust over them. What a strong an imposing man you must have been in your 50s when these offences were committed.”

All Dektereff’s victims were in court for the sentencing.

After he was jailed one said: “It’s a relief he has finally gone to prison after all these years. It’s incredible that he was only brought to justice because of a fruit knife.”

Child sex abuser jailed for four years

3433414

A DISGRACED pensioner has been jailed for abusing three young children over a number of years.

Married father-of-two John Piercy, 69, sexually assaulted the youngsters when they were all under the age of nine.

His youngest victim was just five years old and all three were physically hurt by the acts carried out by Piercy, York Crown Court was told.

Piercy, of Elder Grove, Haxby, and formerly of Stockton-on-the-Forest, pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, after initially denying the offences 12 months ago out of “embarrassment and shame.”

He appeared in court dressed in a suit and was shaking uncontrollably as he sat in the dock.

Sentencing Piercy to four years in prison, The Recorder of York, Judge Stephen Ashurst, said: “You are 69 years of age and in court in poor health and in disgrace.

“If ever a case involved the damage of children by the sexual abuse of an adult, this is one.

“The fall-out for the concerned has been damaging and distressing.

“I cannot avoid sending you to prison.

“To do otherwise would be to underplay the seriousness of your behaviour.” The mother of one child abused by Piercy said: “The sentence was correct and on the money. I wish he had pleaded guilty a year ago and not put us through a year of hell. It’s been the worst possible year of my life.

“It has been so dark and had an affect on all our health, both psychologically and physically.”

Det Con John Atkinson of North Yorkshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, said: “These were horrible offences against vulnerable victims who were not in a position to resist.”

When the allegations came to light Piercy left suicide notes addressed to his wife at the their home saying “goodbye my love, it’s over”.

One of the notes contained his mobile phone number and when relatives called him he told them he was at Castle Howard.

Judge Ashurst added: “You now feel extremely sorry for yourself and have been struggling to come to terms with yourself, and it’s not surprising you have made threats to take your own life.

“All of that has no doubt compounded the distress of your wife who has stood by you.”

Piercy was ordered to serve half his sentence in prison and the remaining two years on licence, he was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and told he must never stay in the same house as children under 16.

The Recorder of York, Judge Stephen Ashurst, said he had committed “extremely serious offences.”

He added: “This is a case where a custodial sentence is inevitable.”

His case was adjourned until January 26 while probation officers prepare a pre-sentence report.

Hall was released on bail and must now register as a sex offender.

Pensioner who sexually abused young girl in 1970s may die in jail

A PENSIONER who systematically sexually abused a young girl in the 1970s may die behind bars after a judge jailed him for eight years and eight months.

William Chamberlain, 66, stole the vulnerable youngster’s innocence when he repeatedly abused her between the ages of five and nine, threatening to kill her family if she told.

The court heard that years of alcoholism and the onset of dementia meant he may never be free again.

Charles Thomas, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court that Chamberlain started to abuse the child when she was just five years old in 1971.

He would get the youngster to touch him improperly and then tried to force her into committing another sex act.

Mr Thomas said that as the abuse continued he told her that he would kill her family if she told anyone about what he had been doing.

He said the impact of the offending had been significant on the victim both as a child and as she grew up in to adulthood.

Chamberlain, formerly of Beethoven Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault on a child and one of gross indecency.

He had to be sentenced under the law at the time of the offending when the maximum terms were five years for indecent assault and two years for indecency.

It was pointed out that current guidelines for what he did could have meant a starting point of 16 years before aggravating and mitigating factors were considered.

Rob Ross, defending, said the victim deserves credit for her honesty in telling the police what he did to her, resisting the temptation to ‘over egg the pudding’.

He said: “It is gratifying to see how well she has made her life bearing in mind what happened to her when she was young.”

A neuropsychiatrist’s report on his client ‘indicates a man in a sorry state’, he said, putting him just below the rating for dementia.

He said: “While he is not a man who these days would be described as elderly his physical condition and mental condition are way beyond that now.

“Possibly a lengthy custodial sentence will see him never being released.

“It is clear the prison services will have to take good care of him because of the difficulties he has got and the declining mental health he will have over the years.

“He has never been to prison. He has had no reoffending over many, many years.

“All I can do on his behalf is indicate to the victim that he trusts that she is able to receive closure now and get on with her life knowing that he had accepted what he did to her.”

Jailing him, Judge Tim Mousley QC said: “Many years ago when the victim was aged five to nine years old you systematically abused her.

“You were able to take such gross and extreme advantage of her because she was at such a tender age that she knew no better.

“It is very difficult to contemplate someone that would be more vulnerable to what was described as your predatory and manipulative behaviour.

“You took away her innocence and you ruined her life. The ripples of that spread out so that affected those close to her.

“She has had to wrestle with what you did to her for 40 years now. Some would say it is remarkable she made such a success of her life with that in the back of her mind.

“You made the most wicked threats to her as to what would happen to her family if she told anyone as to what was going on.”

Pervert admits having 2,500 indecent images of children

POLICE found more than 2,500 images of children posing naked or in underwear on a man’s computer, Bradford Crown Court was told.

Richard Vogel, 50, was given a community order after the court heard it had taken the prosecuting authorities seven years to bring the case to court.

Prosecutor Michael Greenhalgh said police executed a search warrant at Vogel’s then home in Wyke, Bradford, after intercepting a package delivered to his parents’ address in North Shields.

They seized computer equipment, CDs and DVDs from the Wyke address which contained 2,582 indecent images, all of which were in the lowest level of seriousness.

Mr Greenhalgh said the original case was dismissed because court committal papers were not served in time.

Vogel, now of North Shields, admitted making and possessing indecent photos of children. He was given a three-year community order with supervision and a requirement to complete a sexual offenders programme. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for five years.

Widnes man handed community order for possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography

A PERVERT from Widnes has been handed a community order after being sentenced for making and possessing indecent photographs of children.

John Carr, 48, of Bell House Road, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday, December 12.

The Recorder Of Chester Elgan Edwards gave Carr a community order for two years with a supervision order for the same length of time.

The judge also handed Carr a sexual offences prevention order for the next 10 years, told him to sign the sex offenders register, and to pay £500 in costs.

He was sentenced for two counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of possessing indecent photographs and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.

The court heard from John Oates, prosecuting, that Carr pleaded guilty to the offences on Monday, October 13.

Mr Oates said that one count included a single indecent photograph that fell into category A – which covers the ‘most serious images’ according to Crown Prosecution Service guidelines – and 254 images in the second count fell into category C.

He added that the extreme pornography count included 200 images of people committing ‘unnatural acts with animals’.

The prosecution said that officers executed a warrant and searched Carr’s home on Wednesday, April 30.

A Toshiba laptop was found in his living room was later examined and had the images, Mr Oates added.

Simon Christie, defending Carr, said that his client has been ‘cursed and crippled by alcohol for some considerable time’ and that in the context of the case, ‘making means possession’.

Judge Edwards added that there was no evidence that Carr had actually taken photographs of a child.

Mr Christie added that these were ‘dreadful images’ that should not be viewed and that ‘now is the time to see some intervention’ for his client.

Sentencing, the judge told Carr: “Filth of this kind of thing is going to get you into very serious trouble.”

TWISTED trio from Barrow who planned the sexual abuse of children have been found guilty on all charges

3

A jury took two and a half hours to reach a unanimous verdict against Kevin Barnett, his wife Susan Barnett and Nikita Moore at Preston Crown Court today.

The Barnetts, both 28, faced two charges of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sexual offence, while Kevin Barnett, together with Nikita Moore, also faced two charges of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.

2

At the time of the offences Susan Barnett and Moore lived together in Barnfield Lane, Barrow, while Kevin Barnett lived at an address in Rawlinson Street.

Their sick plans came to light after text messages were discovered on Kevin Barnett’s phone by police following his arrest for an unrelated matter.

1

Sentencing will take place in February.

December 2014

A HUSBAND accused of plotting with his wife to sexually abuse children lives in “a highly sexualised word” where “nothing is ruled out”, a court heard.

Barristers in the trial of Kevin Barnett, Susan Barnett and Nikita Moore made their closing speeches at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

The trio, from Barrow, are charged with offences relating to an exchange of text messages discussing sex acts with children.

The messages came to light when police examined Kevin Barnett’s phone while attending an unrelated incident.

The jury, due to retire to consider its verdict today, must decide whether these messages broke the law by constituting a concrete agreement to sexually abuse children. Describing Kevin Barnett, 28, of Rawlinson Street, Mr Charles Brown, prosecuting, said: “It’s a highly sexualised world in which he appears to live.

“He is lost in a world of unusual sexual practices where nothing appears to be ruled out.”

Mr Brown said that Susan Barnett, 28, and Moore, 22, both of Barnfield Lane, were “besotted” with Barnett and willing to assist him.

Summing up, Mr Brown argued: “Can there be any doubt that had the opportunity presented itself that he would have abused children?”

Mr Brian Williams, defending Kevin Barnett, said the messages he sent were “vile, disgusting and depraved” but were pure fantasy and did not represent any genuine intent.

He told the jury: “As an advocate for Kevin Barnett I have a problem. You hate him, you have no sympathy for him because the content of these messages is sickening.

“But your contempt and disgust must not influence your verdict in this case.”

Mr Nicholas Kennedy, representing Susan Barnett, said the defendant had indulged her husband’s “vile suggestions” in order to win him back following their separation in January.

He argued she had no intention of committing child abuse.

Mr Andrew Scott, defending Nikita Moore, said: “These messages represent a discussion of sexual fantasies rather than an actual arrangement.

“As they say ‘talk is cheap’. It is little more than drunken drivel.”

The court heard that Moore and Kevin Barnett had already pleaded guilty to offences relating to the exchange of indecent images of children. Both will now be placed on the sex offenders register.

Kevin and Susan Barnett are charged with arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

He is also charged, together with Moore, with two counts of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.

All three defendants deny these charges.

December 2014

THREE defendants accused of plotting to sexually abuse children created a “circle of deceit” in the months leading up to their arrest, a court heard.

Husband and wife Kevin and Susan Barnett, both 28 of Barrow, and Nikita Moore, 22, are charged with offences relating to text messages they exchanged in which they discussed sex with children.

Much of the evidence on the eighth day of their trial at Preston Crown Court focused on the relationships between the trio.

Yesterday, the court heard that Nikita Moore began an affair with Kevin Barnett shortly after the death of her long term partner Jason Baines, who killed himself in October 2013. Moore, who is originally from Birmingham, said the two had indulged in “unconventional” sexual practices.

Their relationship ended in early 2014 when Moore discovered Barnett was also having an affair with another woman.

After admitting the affair to Susan Barnett, Moore said the two women had become “really close” and began living together in Barnfield Lane, Barrow.

But Moore continued to secretly exchange messages with Kevin Barnett discussing underage sex and sharing indecent images of children.

Moore’s defence barrister Mr Andrew Scott said: “You would agree that at this point it has become a circle of deceit between you.”

Asked why she had had the affair and continued to exchange messages with Barnett, Moore said: “I just wanted someone who would be there for as much as Jason, I don’t know what I was thinking, I really don’t.

“Things were really messed up but when I met Kev everything seemed normal just for a second.

“I was absolutely besotted with him, everything revolved around him at that point.”

Mr Scott asked if the messages regarding sex with children had been fantasy or reality.

Moore said: “It definitely wasn’t reality, I don’t know where my head was I don’t even know how I thought of something like that it makes me physically sick.”

Under cross examination by Mr Charles Brown, prosecuting, Moore was asked directly if she intended to act on the messages by sexually abusing children with Kevin Barnett.

She said: “No. I would never have done that. There is a difference between what you say you will do and what you actually do.”

Kevin Barnett, of Rawlinson Street, Barrow, and his wife are charged with two counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

He is also charged, together with Moore, with two counts of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.

All three defendants deny the charges. The trial continues.

Child abuse images pervert guilty of making indecent images of children

A PERVERT jailed for downloading hundreds of vile indecent photographs and videos of children claims he only looked at the images because he had been abused as a child and felt sorry for the young victims.

Paul Johnson, aged 34, of Dagnam Road, Arbourthorne, Sheffield, was snared as part of an investigation by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, which monitored his internet activity and ordered a raid on his home.

Johnson was living with his father in a retirement complex in Loxley when officers swooped and seized his laptop computer.

He had downloaded 1,317 indecent photographs of youngsters and 259 videos – some graded at the most serious level and involved toddler-aged children.

Johnson pleaded guilty to 10 specimen counts of making indecent images of children and was jailed for 18 months. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.

Prosecutor Michael Rawlinson told Sheffield Crown Court that when Johnson was interviewed he told detectives he had initially looked at adult porn and stumbled across indecent images of children ‘by chance’.

“He said he was transfixed because of experiences he had as a child – it had taken him back to that,” added Mr Rawlinson.

But Judge Simon Lawler QC said he found it difficult to believe Johnson’s story.

He said: “Last year the police discovered some 1,300 indecent photographs of children and 259 films of children. I had the misfortune of viewing a sample of those at grades 4 and 5 – the most serious level – and they were all very young children, some were only toddlers.

“You told the probation officers and police that your viewing of this child porn started almost by accident and you thereafter accessed it because you were abused as a child and became fascinated and obsessed.

“I have to say I find it difficult to accept your account bearing in mind the volume and material viewed.

“It does not need me to spell out the evils this brings – it encourages the bringing into sexual exploitation of young children and here very young children. It is impossible to avoid a custodial sentence.”

Shila Whitehead, defending, said it was adult porn Johnson was initially interested in.

She said he had had a troubled background, stressed he had not viewed the images for sexual gratification and said he was ‘deeply remorseful’..

“Some curious interest in porn transpired in 2008 which led to the offences being committed,” she said.

“He felt he was able to sympathise with those in the pictures he had downloaded and felt sorry for them and that they should not have been put through what they had.”

Two Slough men guilty of child sex offences

Two men have been convicted of a number of sexual offences against three girls.

Esmatullah Haidaree, 45, of Farm Crescent, Slough, and Azim Ahmed, 23, of Diamond Road, Slough, were convicted at Reading Crown Court.

Haidaree was found guilty of two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and four counts of sexual assault and Ahmed was convicted of five counts of sexual activity with a child.

Both had denied the offences, which were committed in 2013.

Sentencing is due to take place in February.

The pair were arrested in May and June last year following an investigation by Thames Valley Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit.

They were charged in March this year in relation to incidents involving three girls aged 14 and 15.

During the early hours of Sunday, 7 April 2013, the police were contacted by a member of the public who reported that two girls were in a flat in Slough sleeping on a spare mattress.

Police said they discovered that the girls, along with a third victim, had been abused by Haideree and Ahmed.

Det Sgt Richard Jarvis, officer in the case, thanked the girls for their “absolute bravery” in giving evidence at court.

“The actions of these two men were truly appalling,” said Adrian Foster, chief crown prosecutor for Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service.

“They are nothing less than vicious sexual predators.

“The jury saw through their fabrications and they must now face full responsibility for their despicable behaviour.”

Ahmed was found not guilty on one count of sexual activity with a child under 13 and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

They were charged on March 27 as a result of an investigation into alleged Child Sexual Exploitation and will appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 14.

Ahmed was charged in connection with a total of eight offences, which are:

  • Engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 between March 14 2013 and March 18 2013.

  • Engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 between April 5 2013 and April 8 2013.

  • Four counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 between January 31 2013 and May 23 2013.

  • Two counts of causing/inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – no penetration – between March 14 2013 and March 18 2013.

Haidaree was charged with six offences, which are:

  • Engaging in non penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 between March 14 2013 and April 8 2013.

  • Two counts of engaging in non penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 between January 31 2013 and May 23 2013.

  • Engaging in non penetrative sexual activity with girl aged 13 to 15 between March 14 2013 and March 18 2013.

  • Causing/inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – no penetration – between January 31 2013 and May 23 2013.

  • Causing/inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – no penetration – between March 14 2013 and March 18 2013

Pensioner jailed for historic sex offences

A pensioner who sexually abused four girls has been sent to prison for six years and three months after being found guilty of 22 sex offence charges.

Pervert admits making and possessing indecent images of children

HOUGHTON Regis resident Anthony Brooks has been given a suspended jail sentence after being found with more than 2,000 sordid images of young children on his computer.

At Luton Crown Court Brooks, 40, of Frogmore Road, pleaded guilty to eight offences of making indecent photos, possessing an indecent photo of a child, possessing prohibited images of a child and possessing an extreme pornographic image.

The court heard Brooks had gone searching for the material on the internet.

Richard Jones, prosecuting, said that police acting on information went to his home on May 31 last year and seized computer equipment belonging to him.

A forensic examination of the goods revealed what Brooks had been up to and the search terms he had used to locate the images.

The court was told the vast majority of the photos were of young girls aged 10 to 13. However, some showed children between the ages of two and six.

Questioned by police, Brooks said he had been looking at adult porn and was not attracted to children.

He was given a 12 month jail sentence suspended for two years with two years supervision. He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £840 towards the cost of the prosecution.

Paedophile jailed after being found guilty of 11 sexual offences, including rape, against two 9 yr old girls

Vincent Glazzard

A South Yorkshire man has been locked up for 14 years for a series of sex attacks on young girls spanning a decade.

Vincent Glazzard, aged 49, was jailed after being found guilty of 11 sexual offences on two girls, which started when they were just nine years old.

Glazzard, of Morrison Road, Darfield, near Barnsley, was convicted of three counts of rape on a girl under 16, four counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, two counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16, sexual activity with a girl under 16 and sexual assault on a girl under 16.

He was found not guilty of five other charges.

The rapist denied the offences, forcing his victims to relive their ordeals during his two week trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

Detective Inspector John Fitzgibbons, who led the police probe into the sex attacks, said: “Words cannot begin to describe the abhorrent actions of Glazzard and the suffering his victims have endured. His crimes against them were absolutely appalling.

“He has consistently denied the offences and sought to shift blame onto his victims for making accusations against him.

“As a result of this they had to undergo the harrowing ordeal of reliving their experiences during the trial.

“I would like to praise the victims and witnesses in this case for their strength and fortitude throughout this two-year long investigation.

“I can only hope they feel justice has been served for the distress and anguish he will have caused them and they have some form of closure now he is behind bars.”

Anyone affected by similar issues and who would like to speak to specially trained officers should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Burnley sexual predator jailed after attacking teen at party

eck

A SEXUAL predator who attacked a 16-year-old girl has been put behind bars.

Foyzul Hoque, of Fifth Avenue, Burnley, pleaded guilty to attacking the teenager at a party.

The 21-year-old had already been placed on the sex offenders register in 2009 after he assaulted a prostitute who refused to take a cheque as payment.

He was sentenced to three years imprisonment at Burnley Crown Court for sexual assault by penetration.

Speaking after the hearing, officers said Hoque was a ‘high risk’ offender’. Det Const Lee Eckersley, from the public protection unit, said: “It is a good job Hoque is behind bars.

“He is a dangerous man and without a doubt, a sexual predator.”

The attack happened after Hoque picked up the youngster, who had been drinking, at a local takeaway.

He took the teen, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, to a house in Burnley, where she decided to go upstairs to sleep, officers said.

She woke up to find Hoque behind her and pulling at her clothes.

Det Con Eckersley said the girl was struggling and managed to fight her attacker off.

He said: “He met the girl at a takeaway. Alcohol was involved. At the house, she went upstairs and fell asleep.

“The girl was very, very distressed.

“She gave a lengthy victim impact statement and it was quite clear it had a considerable impact on her.

“Hoque was already on the sex offenders register. He is a repeat attacker and a high risk offender.”

Man jailed for ‘horrific’ rapes

A man has been jailed for 15 years for a series of “horrific” rapes and indecent assaults on children.

Gary Wheeler, 41, from the Hartcliffe area of Bristol, admitted nine counts of rape, 13 of indecent assault and four of gross indecency.

Bristol Crown Court heard the offences all related to attacks on children over an eight year period.

Sentencing Wheeler, the judge, Mr Justice Smith QC, said it was “the most horrific case” he had ever dealt with.

Wheeler, a barman, has also been banned from having unsupervised access to children under the age of 16.

Det Sgt Mark Rolfe, of Avon and Somerset Police’s child protection team, said: “This is probably as serious as child abuse gets.

“The defendant has demonstrated that he is very dangerous to children – he was very manipulative and took advantage of the most vulnerable in our society.”

Indecent photos lead to prison

A SCHOOL bus driver who sexually assaulted two 15 year olds after telling them he could help them get into the world of modelling has been jailed.

Nigel Wheeler, of Kimmeridge Close, Nythe, plied the youngsters with wine before taking photos of them.

The 52-year-old also groped the girls and told them he could help them in a modelling career by showing the shots to a friend.

Claire Marlow, prosecuting, told a judge at Swindon Crown Court that Wheeler worked for Barnes Coaches, in Aldbourne.

Part of his work was to do the school run from the villages around Marlborough taking children to and from classes.

He used the position to chat to one of the girls and started talking about modelling, telling her he had a friend in the business.

In May last year he met up with the girl and another boy and girl, all aged 15, and arranged a photo shoot at his home for the following day.

When they went to his flat he provided wine for the girls and beer for the boy and the first girl went to have her photos done in another room.

Wheeler gave her a baby doll-type outfit to wear, saying it would improve her chances of becoming a model.

He then took photographs on his mobile phone.

The first girl was then present as he took indecent photographs of the second girl.

He also took a video clip of the girl and asked the two of them to touch each other, which they refused to do.

When Wheeler was questioned he admitted meeting the children and taking the photographs but denied having a sexual interest in children.

Wheeler admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child and four of taking an indecent photograph of a child.

Rob Ross, defending, said that his client had no history of similar offending and had worked in the USA coaching children in the past without any problem.

Jailing Wheeler for eight months Judge Douglas Field said: “You were employed as the driver of a school bus and you owed a responsibility to these children that were being taken to their school.

“You took advantage of that position to be in a position to manipulate these two young girls and to make the arrangement for them to visit you so that you could take these obscene photographs of them.

“Having got them there you plied them with alcohol, which is another aggravating feature.”

He also banned Wheeler from working with children, told him he must register as a sex offender for 10 years and imposed a 10-year sexual offences prevention order restricting his liberty.
