Bonhill man placed on sex register

A BONHILL man has been placed on the sex offenders register after he admitted downloading hundreds of indecent images and explicit videos of children.

Liam Brown, 22, of Braehead, was caught during Operation Alba, a joint police venture spearheaded by the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency that was set-up to specifically target on-line paedophiles.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard that using technology, cops had identified Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, where sexual abuse images had been downloaded.

One of the IP addresses led them to applying for a search warrant, which was granted, for a flat in Renton.

When officers attended at the property on December 2 2011, Brown’s aunt was oblivious to what was going on but she directed them to a laptop that she said her nephew, who had stayed with her for a time, had used.

Brown was later interviewed by police officers and pled guilty to charges that he downloaded images from March 13 2010 to December 23 2011 at the flat in Renton and at his home address in Bonhill.

Police who carried out the investigation discovered Brown had downloaded over 600 images.

Deferring sentence until September 10, Sheriff Raymond McMenamin said: “In view of the nature of the charges to which you have pled guilty, I am required to call for reports.”

19 yrs for Aids child rape

A sex offender with the Aids virus was jailed for 19 years yesterday for raping a 14-year-old boy.

Mark Railly, 31, and his partner George Railly, 61, abducted the boy at knifepoint from public toilets and put him through a horrifying sex ordeal. The pair, who are not related, lived together at Southampton.

Terminally ill Mark sat grinning in the dock as he was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court. George, who posed as the younger man’s father, was jailed for life.

The judge said: “Mercifully your victim has not contracted the disease.”

Jail for man banned from toilets

A man banned from entering public toilets across Wales and England has been jailed for nine months for breaching the order.

Mold Crown Court was told that Robert Chipchase, from Rhyl, Denbighshire, breached the terms of an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) twice.

The Asbo was imposed to stop Chipchase touting for sex in toilets.

But the court heard he was caught at lavatories in East Parade in Rhyl in March and April.

On both occasions he was found with notes written by him inviting strangers to participate in sexual acts with him.

He had previously been jailed for three months last year after peering into a toilet cubicle occupied by a 14-year-old boy.

In court, Chipchase was described as having learning difficulties and the mental age of 10.

His defence barrister, James Cullen, said Chipchase had been working with social services for 14 hours a week in a bid to tackle his offending behaviour.

But a report from the probation service still assessed him as posing a “high risk” of serious harm to children.

The judge, Mr Recorder Robert Britton told Chipchase: “These are serious matters.

“It is clear that there are people who are trying to help you.

“You must understand that the court cannot just sit back and tolerate such behaviour.”

Redruth pervert downloaded thousands of child abuse images – Guilty: No prison

AN ALCOHOLIC from Redruth, who downloaded thousands of indecent and extreme pornographic images of children and animals, told a court he had no sexual interest in youngsters.

At Truro Crown Court last Friday, Judge Christopher Harvey Clark, QC, said he was troubled by and found it very difficult to believe David Jones’ claim that he was not accessing child pornography for sexual reasons.

The 49-year-old, of Wheal Montague, North Country, who arrived at court drunk, previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of having made indecent images of children between February and May last year.

The 491 images ranged from category A to C on the scale used by the sentencing council to determine the seriousness of such material with category A being the most serious.

Jones also admitted two counts of being in possession of 2,375 extreme pornographic images involving animals and 23 prohibited images of children.

Elaine Hobson, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said police were led to Jones after a UK website was compromised in 2011.

She said Jones was one of a number of people who had accessed link on the site advertising the sale of child abuse DVDs.

Ms Hobson said police searched Jones’ house on May 14, last year and officers seized a laptop.

Ms Hobson said: “He was interviewed and admitted he was the main user of that computer … he was vaguely aware of illegal images on his computer [downloaded] when he was under the influence of alcohol.

“He stated that he was an alcoholic [and was] not sexually interested in the images.”

Fred Howell, defending, said Jones was in receipt of benefits.

Court liaison probation officer, Mary Lewis, said she had ended a short interview with Jones on that day because he was “very drunk”.

She said: “He said he had taken a lot of diazepam.”

Judge Harvey Clark asked Jones if he was in a fit state to be dealt with and he said he was and that he had been “dry” for weeks but had panicked about his court appearance the night before and had a few drinks.

Jones was sentenced to 12 months in prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to be under the supervision of the probation service for the same period.

He was also make the subject of a sexual offences prevention order and an alcohol treatment requirement and will have to attend court for monthly reviews.

Jones was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for the next 10 years.

Hartlepool teens locked up for brutal rape of schoolgirl

bates

TWO Hartlepool sex beasts who raped a schoolgirl have each been locked up for 14 years.

Lewis Bates (pictured above) and Mark Wilson left their victim bleeding profusely after the horrific attack, Durham Crown Court heard.

r

Sam Hunter, who helped entice the victim into Bates’ car, was jailed for 18 months for child abduction.

The court heard the three men were cruising around Blackhall Colliery last year when they stopped to talk to a group of children.

t

Despite confirming their victim was under 16, they drove her to a quiet lane leading to the coast, prosecutor Matthew Bean told the court.

“Hunter stayed in the car,” Mr Bean added.

“The victim described how Bates and Wilson led her a short distance on foot.

“She was turned round about six times as each man raped her.

“Afterwards they took her back to the village.”

Bates, 19, of Runciman Road, Hartlepool, and Wilson, 18, of Arkley Crescent, also Hartlepool, both denied three charges of rape and one charge of child abduction.

They were each convicted of one charge of rape and child abduction after a trial earlier this year.

Hunter, 18, of Hirdman Grove, Hartlepool, denied child abduction. He was convicted at the end of the same trial.

Lawyers for Wilson and Bates conceded it was a sustained attack, but said it had not gone on for hours or days.

Jim Withyman, for Wilson, said the girl got into the car voluntarily at the roadside.

“Any personal mitigation for Mr Wilson is regretfully sparse,” he added.

Jane Waugh, for Hunter, said: “He did not know the plans of the others, and he remained in the back seat throughout.”

Passing sentence, Judge Christopher Prince said: “This was a callous offence, the treatment of the victim was brutal.

“You showed a complete disregard for your victim as a person, treating her merely as an object.

“There has been a gravely adverse impact on her, there being severe physical and severe psychological harm.

“You all acted together, and there was a significant degree of planning,”

Judge Prince made an order confiscating the Seat Ibiza car belonging to Bates.

Both Bates and Wilson will have to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives.

The judge commended the officer in charge of the case, Detective Constable Helen Tindale of Durham Police.

Bates and Wilson will serve their sentences in a young offenders’ institution until they are 21-years-old, when they will be transferred to an adult prison.

Time spent on remand means Hunter is likely to be released within the next two months.

Northfleet teen locked up after engaging in sex acts with girl of 13 from Medway

pet

A teenager who engaged in consensual sex acts with a 13-year-old girl after lying to her that he was 15 has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years’ youth custody.

The girl initiated the intimacy with Marcus Petrie, which happened on a single occasion at her home, Maidstone Crown Court was told.

Contact between them ended after she found out his true age was 19. She later told police she gave her consent to the sexual activity.

Prosecutor Paul Jackson said the pair met in Gravesend last year and they later went to her home in Medway. They ended up in her bedroom and began kissing.

The girl pulled down Petrie trousers and performed a sex act on him. He touched her intimately.

“She said she wanted to do this,” said Mr Jackson. “She confirmed that nothing had happened since. She told him she was 13. He told her he was 15. In fact, he was 19.

“Shortly afterwards she discovered his real age. She confronted him about it. He asked her if she was going to report it to the police and threatened to kill himself.”

When arrested, he denied there was any sexual contact.

Petrie, now 20, of Cypress Grove, Dover, admitted causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual activity with a child

Judge Charles Macdonald QC heard Petrie’s only brush with the law had been a reprimand for stealing a bicycle.

Thomas Daniel, defending, said it did not take a great deal of imagination to understand why the girl thought Petrie was only 15.

“He does not look his age or necessarily act it,” said Mr Daniel. “He lied about his age out of embarrassment. He is most ashamed.

“She accepted she initiated sexual contact. He says he knew it was wrong and should have stopped it. His mother says she still can’t see what he did wrong. There was no grooming or planning.”

Mr Daniel submitted that a probation report recommendation for a suspended sentence could be followed. It stated Petrie might not be able to cope in custody.

Judge Macdonald said: “The law exists to protect children. It doesn’t really matter what the complainant’s attitude was.”

throughout but, of course, no consent in law.”

He added: “There is clearly some mitigation here. You are of good character and I accept you are remorseful.

“More importantly, I am satisfied there is in your case, partly because of a difficult background, a lack of maturity which has affected your responsibility for this offence to some extent.

“They remain, nevertheless, serious offences. The law exists to protect her from this.”

The judge said he had decided that because of Petrie’s immaturity he could go outside the range of sentences, but added it had to be immediate custody.

Petrie’s name will appear on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and he was barred from working with children or vulnerable adults. A sexual offences prevention order was made.

Redcar store manager jailed for secretly filming teen in the shower with his mobile phone

A store manager has been jailed for secretly filming a teenager in the shower with his mobile phone.

David Briddick, 42, videoed the girl on three occasions after asking to use the bathroom before her at her home.

She reported him to the police when she found the mobile propped up to catch her naked.

Prosecutor Sue Jacobs told Teesside Crown Court the girl said in a Victim Impact Statement that she was now wary of men.

Briddick, the father of two boys, who ran a food store in Redcar, made no reply when he was arrested and questioned.

Graham Silvester, defending, said Briddick could not explain why he had done it.

He added: “Why a man of his age and with his good work record and his obviously good points in being able to raise a family should do this is as bemusing to him as it is to the rest of us.

“He is disgusted with himself and has lost his self-respect.”

Mr Silvester said the offences passed the custody threshold, but he urged the judge not to impose an immediate prison sentence.

The girl had said in a letter to the judge that she wanted him spared from jail for the sake of his boys.

Judge Peter Bowers told Briddick: “What you did is shameful. You were spying on her, and although you say that there was no sexual motive, I can’t think of any other reason why you would want to do it.”

The judge added: “In the circumstances, she asks me not to send you to prison, and the probation officer asks me the same.

“I can’t accede to that, but I can reduce the two year sentence which is what I had in mind.”

Briddick, formerly of Loftus but lately of The Causeway, Darlington, was jailed for 15 months after he pleaded guilty to three charges of voyeurism and two of taking indecent photographs. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and given a 10 year ban restricting his contact with girls under 16.

Pervert who stalked and sexually assaulted lone schoolgirls around Liverpool is jailed

Ryan Doran, 22, deliberately targeted nine vulnerable schoolgirls, most of whom were wearing their school uniforms at the time.

Doran carried on his campaign of terror for two months during the spring and early summer until he was caught by plain clothes police officers who had been patrolling the area.

Charlotte Kenny, prosecuting, told Liverpool Crown Court that Doran stalked the area around the old Loop Line, a disused railway that has been turned into a cycle path.

On March 17 he approached his first victim, a 15-year-old on her way home from school, and put his hand up her skirt.

He struck again on April 2, assaulting a 14-year-old girl, who described him saying nothing but laughing at her.

She described how she had trouble sleeping after the incident and when he later did the same to her sister thought he was deliberately targeting her family.

Further assaults continued with Doran, of Montague Road, Broad Green, touching a woman and girls under their skirts.

One victim was 18, but was also wearing a school uniform, but the others were much younger including one girl who was just 11.

In each instance, dressed in a hoodie, he targeted lone victims or waited for them to separate from a group before striking.

Most of his victims spoke of being unable to go out after, having to be accompanied to and from school, or sticking to playing in their back garden so they could be close to their parents.

Doran was caught by plainclothes police officers on June 5 who became suspicious that he was wearing a hoodie on a hot day.

They lost sight of him and he assaulted his ninth and final victim that day but was arrested shortly after.

He initially denied any wrongdoing but they found video footage of one of his previous victims he had taken while he followed her.

Doran, who has no previous convictions, admitted nine counts of sexual assault, telling police: “I don’t know why I did it. I turned into an animal and can’t explain why.”

He said he had not been taking his antidepressants and was sorry.

Peter Killen, defending, said it was to the long term benefit of the community that he be treated rather than jailed as he would be around “for decades to come”.

Sentencing Doran to three years in prison, of which he will serve half before being released on licence, Judge David Aubrey QC told the court the defendant had “preyed” upon his victims and left him no choice but to send him to jail.

He said: “The victims spoke of being scared, harbouring fears of being stalked. Others spoke of now being withdrawn or moody and not feeling safe and others spoke of now having to ensure that whenever they go to or from school somebody is within the vicinity observing them.

“And so the anxiety and distress that has been caused by this defendant upon these victims, in this court’s judgement, cannot be underestimated.

“Indeed, in respect of two victims, unbeknownst to this defendant, they were offences committed on separate dates, they were in fact sisters. One can only imagine in these circumstances the distress that must have been occasioned to all members of that particular family.”

Doran will also be placed on the sex offenders register and had a 10-year sexual offences prevention order imposed on him.

East Lancs paedophile fails in appeal to overturn potentially lifelong sentence

A CLITHEROE paedophile who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl and took vile photographs of her will stay in prison indefinitely after failing in an Appeal Court bid to overturn his potentially lifelong sentence.

Glenn Yates, 41, caused “immense and incalculable” harm to the schoolgirl after pressuring her into sex offences and making her pose for images, which he added to his collection of child abuse images

Yates, of Hayhurst Street, was handed an open-ended prison sentence — almost identical to a life term — at Preston Crown Court in September 2009 after he was convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The judge ordered that Yates, who also admitted child porn offences, could not be released until the Parole Board was satisfied it would be safe to do so. An attempt to challenge his tough sentence was later rejected by the Appeal Court after it ruled that the judge was right to find him a “dangerous” offender.

Now three senior judges have rejected his bid to relaunch his appeal via the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) — which probes potential miscarriages of justice — saying it would “not be right” to do so.

Had Yates been successful in an appeal, he would have been eligible for immediate release.

The sex crimes came to light more than five years ago after police raided Yates’ home and discovered on a computer images he had taken of the victim posing nude and in her underwear.

They also discovered 85 indecent images of other children, which he had downloaded. During another search of his home, months later, police found a further cache containing 41 indecent images of children. Despite Yates denying that he abused the young girl, he was found guilty by a jury and jailed.

The trial judge said he presented a “high risk” of re-offending and slapped him with an indeterminate jail sentence.

The Court of Appeal later refused to soften Yates’ overall sentence, despite making minor, academic amendments to some aspects of the concurrent sentences for the offences involving images.

After a referral by the CCRC, the Appeal Court has now corrected further inconsequential elements of his sentence but refused a bid by Yates to re-boot his appeal against his overall punishment.

Matthew Stanbury, for Yates, argued that the court should reconsider whether the sentencing judge should have handed him a sentence which guaranteed his release at some point.

But Lord Justice Davis, sitting with two other judges, said: “We conclude that it would not be right to grant approval in the form sought by Mr Stanbury.”

Flasher was on the brink of sexually assaulting young girls

efit

A flasher who was on the brink of sexually assaulting girls on Middlesbrough’s streets has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Convicted sex offender John Robert Gibson showed children his private parts and, on one occasion, encouraged them to touch him.

The pervert, 39, confessed to police that “something bad would have happened” if these nine-year-old girls had not fled.

Teesside Crown Court heard today how he exposed himself to girls playing out in two Middlesbrough communities.

First he rode his bicycle up and down an alleyway where two nine-year-old girls were playing in Ormesby at about 7pm on June 27.

He rubbed his groin over his cycling shorts in public view, said prosecutor Paul Newcombe.

He stopped near the girls and raised his shorts exposing his genitals to them.

The children fled in shock and told their parents while Gibson rode off.

An e-fit was circulated by police.

Three days later, he did the same to two more nine-year-old girls in Coulby Newham.

He followed them on his bike for more than 10 minutes before lifting his shorts again at 5.10 to 5.20pm.

This time he asked them: “Have you ever touched one of these or played with one of these?”

He added: “Can you do cartwheels?”

Scared and unnerved, the girls did not respond to his questions and ran off.

After they told their parents, another e-fit was assembled.

Gibson was then recognised and arrested at his home.

He admitted to police he committed the crimes for sexual pleasure when he felt safe.

He said he regretted it when the children ran away.

On the second occasion, he confessed he intended to encourage the girls to touch him.

Gibson said he hoped for a “curious reaction” leading to sexual activity.

He expressed surprise that the girls were frightened and saw himself as a “gentle figure”.

He told how his sexual interest in young girls started with a relationship breakdown.

Mr Newcombe added: “He made full and frank admissions recognising his own predilections and capacity for harming youngsters.

“He agreed this is the closest he’d ever come to committing a sexual assault on a child.

“He was concerned he was returning to his old ways.”

Gibson, of Lambton Road, Marton Grove, Middlesbrough, admitted two counts of exposure and two counts of breaching a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO).

He was given an indefinite SOPO when he was jailed for two years and nine months.

On that occasion he had admitted sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13 – performing a sex act in his car near young girls.

He’d also pleaded guilty to making and possessing indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography.

Gibson was caught with 3,548 indecent images of children and 673 illegal extreme pornographic pictures on his computer.

Gary Wood, defending today, said Gibson knew he was going to prison and was willing to cooperate with a sex offenders’ treatment programme.

Until he completed such a programme, according to a pre-sentence report, he posed a risk of serious harm to children.

Judge Tony Briggs told Gibson: “The sentence obviously must be custody.”

Gibson was jailed for two-and-a-half years and will be on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Police are appealing for help to trace a missing sex offender

byrum-cross

Byrom Cross, also known as Biaron, 24, is wanted for a breach of his notification requirements after failing to tell police about a change of address.

Cross was living at an address in Darwen but has now left the address. He also has connections to the Preston area.

He was sentenced to 32 months in prison in July 2010 after he was convicted of sexual activity with a girl under 16. He was also given a Sexual Offences Prevention for 10 years, ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and disqualified from working with children.

He is subject to regular monitoring and checks but has failed to tell police about the change of address.

Det Chief Insp Claire McEnery, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit, said: “We take any breach of notification requirements very seriously and I would urge anyone with information on where he might be to contact us. I would also urge Cross himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.”

Jury convicts man of indecent assaults on girl

A MAN has been found guilty of nine counts of indecently assaulting a girl dating back to 2001.

Benjamin McCrimmon, 29, of Blacon Avenue, Blacon, was convicted by the jury of five men and seven women, of nine counts of indecent assault against a girl.

The jury took just one hour and 20 minutes to unanimously find McCrimmon guilty of indecently touching the girl and making her perform sex acts on him.

Sentencing was adjourned by Judge Roger Dutton for full pre-sentence reports as McCrimmon was under 18 at the time.

Matthew Corbett-Jones, prosecuting at Chester Crown Court, read out an impact statement from the victim, in which said she had been suffering from recurring nightmares and was “anxious” as a result of the abuse.

She said she would “scream herself to sleep” as a child when the abuse was going on.

The victim said his actions caused “self esteem issues” which meant she didn’t have many friends – which she directly attributed to the abuse suffered as a child.

Judge Dutton granted McCrimmon conditional bail while pre-sentence reports are prepared as his father is unwell.

But the judge warned him he was facing a prison sentence.

He said: “You have been convicted on compelling evidence of serious sexual abuse.

“It is a grave matter and in due course you may go to prison.

“However, I need to know more about you before I can sentence due to your age at the time of these offences. You must understand this.

“The likelihood is that you will go to custody.”

Earlier in the trial the jury heard from the victim in the case who said she became “used to it happening”.

In the time leading up to telling the police, the victim wrote notes in her diary – which said she had “horrible secrets” she feared telling her family about.

McCrimmon denied the allegations, describing them as “rubbish” and “wrong”.

He also described being badly beaten up by a man after he was confronted with the allegations.

McCrimmon will be sentenced in the week beginning September 22.

Bradford man, 67, jailed for 12 years for raping and abusing three little girls

9

A 67-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 12 years for raping and abusing three little girls.

Ian Burbank was arrested when one of his victims spoke out after the Childline charity gave a talk at her school, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

The youngster was “shaking from head to foot” as she confided to her teacher what Burbank had done to her, prosecutor John Harrison said.

Burbank, of Moorside Gardens, Eccleshill, Bradford, pleaded guilty to nine offences against the three girls, spanning a four year period.

The charges included the repeated oral rape of the children, sexually assaulting them, inciting two of them to engage in sexual activity and forcing one to watch adult pornography.

Mr Harrison said Burbank began abusing his first victim when she was four years old.

The pensioner told the girls, aged between eight and ten, that he would be in trouble with the police and sent to prison if they did not keep quiet.

One little girl said she felt sick and disgusted after Burbank made her touch him indecently.

She was so traumatised she could not speak about her ordeal but had to write down the details of what he did to her.

After his arrest in July, Burbank immediately confessed the abuse to the police.

He said he told his victims it was a secret.

“He said it was a bit like an addiction and it was difficult to stop,” Mr Harrison told the court.

Burbank’s barrister, Camille Morland, said he had “offended in a terrible way against young children.”

It was unusual for such criminals to be so open and frank with the police.

“He blames nobody but himself and he can’t put the clock back. He is fully aware of the effect he must have had on the girls, now and in the future,” Miss Morland said.

Burbank had never been in trouble before and he had been a hard working and upstanding member of the community.

“He was overcome with guilt after every incident and felt like killing himself,” Miss Morland added.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, said Burbank abused the girls “in the most terrible way.”

“One was brave enough to tell teachers what had happened to her after a visit to school by Childline. This shows the value of that sort of contact,” Judge Thomas said.

Burbank must sign on the sex offenders’ register for life and the judge made a Sexual Offences Prevention Order to protect the three girls and other children from him in the future.

After the case, Detective Constable Emma Dawson, of the Bradford District Safeguarding Unit, said: “Burbank took advantage of his victims’ young ages and vulnerability to carry out repeated sex attacks on them.

“We would like to thank them and their families for coming forward and reporting his crimes to the police, and hope that the sentence passed down today will give them some comfort.

“We also hope it will encourage other victims to come forward and speak to our specially trained officers, who will investigate all reports of sexual abuse thoroughly and sensitively, no matter how historic, with the intention of bringing the offenders to justice.”

Paedophile is jailed for plan to watch child being raped

huss

A paedophile who planned to watch the “depraved” rape and sexual abuse of a young girl has been jailed for five-and-a-half years.

Kyle Hussain, of Greenwood Meadow, Chinnor, admitted trying to meet up with members of a Wiltshire-based paedophile ring in 2011 that involved a Scout leader, bank manager, soldier, sheep farmer and a female teaching assistant

The 32-year-old viewed and shared images of child abuse over the Internet and asked the men who created them if he could “share” one of their victims.

Rachel Drake, prosecuting, said the former security guard was in contact with convicted child abusers Simon Davies and Nicholas Cordery.

She said in 2012 they received indeterminate prison sentences for sex offences, including rape of a child under 13 and conspiracy to rape.

Judge Peter Ross, sitting at Oxford Crown Court, said chat logs between them and Hussain showed he was arranging to attend an “event” where a nine-year-old would be abused.

He said on Friday that Cordery owned an “isolated farmhouse” where “events of sexual depravity” would take place, sometimes involving animals.

Richard Paton-Philip, defending, said his client had planned to watch the rape and abuse of the child only.

Judge Ross jailed Hussain for attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence, sharing and making indecent images of children, and possessing extreme pornography involving animals.

Vile ‘paedo party’ gang caged for 35 years

Sick videos … farmer Nicholas Cordery and Scout leader Peter Malpas

A PAEDOPHILE ring including a Scout leader, bank manager and sheep farmer have been jailed for a total of 35 years.

Girls as young as nine were filmed for vile videos and pictures shared by the twisted gang.

The group was linked to a farmhouse, owned by retired farmer Nicholas Cordery, 63, where group sex parties and bestiality took place.

Cordery sent back sick images of another girl, 12, being raped, Reading Crown Court heard.

Davies also arranged for HIV sufferer Scout leader Peter Malpas, 47, to assault a girl in his Jeep.

Davies’s teaching assistant wife, Fiona Parsons-Davies, 45, of Windsor, admitted cruelty by not reporting it — and got three years.

Judge Stephen John told her: “A single action could have brought the abuse to an end.”

A court heard Cordery’s pal Lance Corporal Simon Davies, 37, of the Household Cavalry, told him that he had groomed a young schoolgirl for sex. Davies filmed the rape and sent it to Cordery, who emailed it on. He was ordered to serve a minimum of 11 and a half years behind bars before he could even apply for parole.

Another gang member, Anthony Flack, 54, had arranged to meet a man and his daughter, ten, for sex in a hotel.

But the bank manager was arrested when an undercover cop met him instead.

Flack, of Keynsham, Bristol, got ten years after admitting conspiring to rape a child, under-age porn charges, and arranging an attack.

Cordery, of Murcott, Wilts, admitted conspiring to rape and child porn offences and got 11 years.

Malpas, of Northampton, admitted attacking a child plus porn crimes and was jailed for 11-and-a-half years.

Sydenham paedophile ring linked to church choir jailed for years of sex abuse

Five members of a Sydenham paedophile ring who systematically abused boys from a church in the 1970s and 1980s have finally been jailed.

Four young members of St Bartholomew’s Church, aged between eight and 16, met their abusers after being introduced by choirmaster Tony Brockhurst.

The group then preyed upon the boys, grooming them with small gifts and takeaway food to gain their trust before subjecting them to sickening abuse.

102

Robert Lawty pictured above

Many of the attacks took place in the victim’s own homes, with one boy plied with alcohol before he was sexually assaulted.

One of the victims finally found the courage to report the abuse to police in 2011 – four years after Brockhurst died.

An investigation was launched by the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) at Sidcup, leading to three more victims being identified. And police believe there may be others who have not yet come forward.

100

Philip Tuffill pictured above

Detective Constable Sam Renwick-Forster, of Sidcup CAIT, said: “These men were trusted by both the victims and their parents. This was in part due to their close links to the church and to the church choir. The defendants bribed the youngsters by showering them with gifts and food before they violated them in the worst way imaginable.

“The victims in this case must be commended for their bravery in standing up against these individuals and ensuring they are not able to target other young people. The effect of abuse such as this cannot be underestimated and I hope today’s result will at least give them some sense of justice.

“It is possible there are other victims out there who are yet to come forward. I would encourage anyone who wants to report offences of this nature to contact their local police.”

Chief crown prosecutor for London Baljit Ubhey said: “The defendants took advantage of the trust placed in them by their victims and their parents as they presented themselves as honest and trustworthy members of the community. A number of them were active members of the local church and became friends with the parents of their victims, which gave them access to the children.

“These men preyed on vulnerable boys and plied them with alcohol, gifts and affection – the defendants encouraging each other to abuse the boys. In order to protect themselves they would carry out the abuse in isolation, so that each victim believed it was only happening to them.

“The actions of these men were appalling but I hope these convictions provide some comfort to the victims.”

Middlesbrough pervert jailed for over eight years for abusing young girl

Ian Donnelly

A man was jailed for over eight years for sexually abusing a young girl 30 years ago.

Justice caught up with Ian Donnelly, 55, when his victim finally went to police after suffering years of torment over his depraved acts.

The judge was told that Donnelly, from Middlesbrough, got away with it at the time because she was too young to understand what was happening to her.

The former bakery worker, who was convicted after a four day trial at Teesside Crown in July, will now have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Prosecutor Robin Turton said that the sex abuse affected her health as she grew older because she could never escape from the memories.

He told Teesside Crown Court when Donnelly appeared for sentencing: “There were a multitude of offences committed when he was a visitor to her home.

“There was a degree of vulnerability and it has had an effect on her life and her relationships.

“She was so young that she did not understand what was happening to her and it meant that it could continue.”

Donnelly was barred from his home by the authorities after his arrest, and he spent eight months sleeping in his car on an industrial estate.

Jonnie Walker, defending, said that Donnelly was his ill wife’s carer, and she would suffer during the years he will spend in prison.

He said that Donnelly committed the offences when he was an immature man in his 20s, and he was effectively of previous good character.

Mr Walker added: “When the police asked him in interview if he had sexually assaulted this girl his answer was Yes, and he went on to make a number of admissions.

“But the admissions did not go as far as the incidents that he was convicted of.”

The judge said that the woman had lived with it for 30 years until she found the burden too great and she announced at a family party in January last year that she was going to the police to report what had happened to her when she was a young girl.

Judge Howard Crowson told Donnelly: “At the plea and case management hearing you admitted three allegations but that was an attempt to undermine and distort what had happened.

“I am of the view that the repeated nature of your offending aggravated the effect on this girl.”

The judge said that he had letters from Donnelly’s family making it clear that he was regarded by them as a loving father.

Donnelly, of Borough Road, Middlesbrough, was jailed for eight and a half years after he was found guilty of five specimen offences of indecent assault and one of indecency with a child. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Corsham man, 59, who downloaded indecent child images may face jail

A man who downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children has been warned he could be facing a jail term.

Peter Bell, 59, has been ordered to register as a sex offender after admitting a string of offences when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

Bell admitted five counts of making and one of possessing indent images of children in Corsham between 2007 and January this year.

He also admitted possessing prohibited images of children on a date in December last year.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, September 19, and released Bell, who gave the court an address in Southampton, on bail until then.

And he warned him: “The fact that I am granting you bail should not be taken as an indication of the final outcome of the case.”

He also told him he must register as a sex offender with the total time he must remain notifying the authorities determined by the sentence he receives.

Leicester man told to expect substantial jail term after admitting child sex abuse

A man who sexually abused three girls has been warned to expect a substantial prison sentence.

Peter York (61) changed his initial denials against a series of offences to plead guilty to three counts of indecently assaulting one girl.

He also admitted three offences of indecency with a second girl and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

York, of Naseby Road, Leicester, also pleaded guilty to two counts of indecency with a third girl. The offences took place on various dates between May 1992 and 2005.

The girls were aged between six and 15 years old.

The Leicester Crown Court case was adjourned until September 25, for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

York was released on bail.

Recorder Adrian Reynolds told him: “The fact I’m granting you bail is no indication of the likely outcome.

“I’m certain you will be facing a substantial sentence for this.

“You’ve had the good sense to plead guilty to these allegations, on the day of trial.”

Trainee primary school teacher jailed for making indecent videos of children in Lincoln

Man jailed for making indecent videos of children in Lincoln

A local man has been jailed for 18 months for making and possessing indecent images of children in Lincoln.

Ntinos Mikellides, 40, of Carlton Heights in Nottingham, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on September 1, after pleading guilty to all nine offences of making indecent photographs and films of children, and three counts of possessing indecent photographs of children.

The offences took place in Lincoln on numerous dates between March 2010 and October 2013.

Mikellides, who was training to be a primary school teacher, was arrested on October 25 last year at his home in Mill Lane in Lincoln, after Lincolnshire Police received information that a computer at the address may have been accessing child pornography sharing sites and downloading images from them.

When officers entered the premises they found Mikellides in his bedroom with a computer that was turned on and downloading indecent images of children at the time.

Investigators seized and examined the hard drive of Mikellides’s computer and found that a total of 94,438 indecent images of children had been accessible.

A report from a forensic investigator revealed that they had been categorised by the names of children, their nationalities, and their activities.

DS Vicky Midgeley of Lincolnshire Police’s Internet Child Abuse Team (ICAT) said after the conclusion of the court case: “I am incredibly pleased with the sentence handed to Mikellides, which reflects the seriousness of his crimes.

“The amount and range of images he had on his computer and available to him was both horrifying and astounding.

“He claimed in interview that he essentially stumbled across these sites while looking for sexually explicit content but it was clear from his continued use of them that he got sexual gratification from them.

“We want others who may use and share indecent images of children on these sites to know that just because they are behind closed doors does not mean we will not find them.

“We will do everything in our power to identify them and see them answerable before the courts. We will also continue to work with partner agencies to identify any children who feature in these photographs and films to try to get them to a position of safety.

“Children are being systematically exploited by adults in this type of indecent content and we will continue trying to find those who access it and put a stop to it because the less demand there is, the less supply we hope there will be.”
